Story
Meet Zarian - a big cuddly bear with an even bigger heart!! Zarian is a 7-year-old Maine Coon mix rescued from the same hoarding situation, and despite everything he’s been through, he is nothing but love. This handsome boy is a true gentle soul — affectionate, calm, and incredibly devoted to his people. He’s the kind of cat who will happily curl up beside you and just be with you. Genetically, Zarian is primarily Maine Coon (approximately 46–50%), mixed with 3–5 other purebred breeds due to intentional cross-breeding. With that lineage comes both his majestic look and his large, teddy-bear presence — but also a breed-related heart condition. Zarian does have a heart condition, and he currently takes one pill daily, which he handles like a champ. He will need a follow-up echocardiogram every 6–12 months to monitor his heart. The good news? With improvement and proper management, there is potential that he may not need medication long-term. He’s stable, comfortable, and living a happy life — he just needs a committed adopter willing to keep up with his care. Personality-wise, he’s an absolute gem. Zarian is wonderful with other cats, fantastic with people and kids, and thrives on gentle affection. However, he is terrified of dogs and must be in a dog-free home where he can feel safe and secure. Zarian deserves a calm, loving environment where he can continue to thrive and be cherished. If you’re looking for a loyal, snuggly companion and are open to giving a special boy the care he needs, Zarian will reward you with endless love and devotion. Zarian is Spayed, Snap tested (FeLV/FIV negative), Vaccinated, Dewormed, Flea-treated, has updated bloodwork, updated Echo and Microchipped. If you think Zarian could be the perfect new addition to your family, inquire below! We’ll happily send you our adoption application and answer any questions you may have. Otherwise, you can submit an application through one of our applications below. Story
Meet Nate! Nate is a 3-year-old Maine Coon mix with a commanding presence, a huge heart… and adorably massive polydactyl paws to match. Yes, this handsome boy has extra toes, giving him those classic oversized “snowshoe” feet that make him look even more majestic. His paws are truly impressive — and absolutely melt-worthy. Rescued from a hoarding situation, Nate has shown nothing but resilience and love. He is extremely sweet, affectionate, and deeply devoted to his people. Once he bonds with you, he bonds hard. He thrives on attention, pets, and being near his human as much as possible. Genetically, Nate is primarily Maine Coon (approximately 46–50%), mixed with 3–5 other purebred breeds due to intentional cross-breeding. He carries that Maine Coon charm — intelligent, expressive, loyal, and larger-than-life in both personality and presence. Nate would do best as the only pet in the home. He is not good with dogs and tends to be too dominant to live comfortably with other cats. He truly wants to be someone’s one and only — and with a personality like his, he absolutely deserves it. If you’re looking for a stunning, affectionate, big-pawed companion who will give you unwavering loyalty and love, Nate is ready to rule your heart (and your couch). Nate is Neutered, Snap tested (FeLV/FIV negative), Vaccinated, Dewormed, Flea-treated, has updated bloodwork and Microchipped. If you think Nate could be the perfect new addition to your family, inquire below! We’ll happily send you our adoption application and answer any questions you may have. Story
ALL our cats and dogs are in the NY area but can be adopted out of state to the purrfect furever home.  In some cases, we can help transport.  Zani's al fresco Summer Adoptions  follow us on FB to find us this summer as we will try new locations to meet the needs of NYC and support the little stores:)     Pure is arriving to us on Feb 26 from Saudi Arabia.  A 2.5y male Maine Coon mix is a little dominant with other kitties if he doesn't love them but is very playful and cuddly if he does. History: found abandoned but too cuddly and friendly to leave behind, he was the easiest catch ever-- he just entered the carrier and enjoyed being safe indoors again. spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and tested negative for FIV/FELV. All kittens are adoptable in pairs only unless another age appropriate cat is in residence.  Most of our adult cats also like cat company (most fosters are multicat homes).  Please read the following article on cat food to see why no dry: www.catinfo.org Facebook:Zani's Furry Friends ZFF (weekly adoption event info posted there) Twitter: zanisff  Instagram: zanisfurryfriends   All cats are in the NY area.  Cats are spayed/neutered, UTD on age appropriate vaccines, Rabies vaxed, and microchipped.  All are in the NY/NJ area but we will adopt out of state to the purrfect home and in some cases, we can arrange transport.  Please go to our site      https://zanisfurryfriends.org      fill out an application and return to   cats@zanisfurryfriends.org   Please note: kittens must be adopted in pairs or to households with age appropriate cat(s) to ensure proper socialization and companionship. NO exceptions! If you would prefer a solo cat, we would be happy to recommend those cats who would do best as solo cats. All our cats are tested for feline leukemia and FIV, FVRCP and Rabies vaxed and also microchipped.   Many of us (cats/dogs) will be on display on Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent.  Please ask by writing us at cats@zanisfurryfriends.org and following us on FB. If you are seriously interested in adopting one of us in particular, please fill out an application early Friday so that we can be sure to be there. Otherwise we decide based on other variables. Usually we are in our foster homes so this is a bit more stressful and a slightly artificial environment but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes too. Please come! And if you can't adopt, foster or volunteer, you can always donate! If you want to know about cats/dogs specifically being shown at our adoption locations, please email us info@zanisfurryfriends.org closer to the date so we know your interest and will make every effort to have that pet at the event or let you know how and where you can meet.  It is extemely helpful and speeds up adoption if the application is filled out prior to visiting us so please do that before coming to our weekend events. Our weekend locations are: Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent  Follow us on FB, Zani's Furry Friends ZFF, for latest updates. Usually we are in our foster homes so all this is a bit more stressful but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer. And you can always donate:) Cats and Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD w/ all age appropriate shots and microchipped. Cats are feline combo tested for FIV/FeLV; dogs are heartworm tested and rabies vax'd, (NOT lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it); rabbits are spayed/neutered.
