They are all friendly and fun and great for any family - they seem fine with kids and should be fine with other gentle cats and with a gentle dog. They are incredibly affectionate, super snuggly, and simply the most purrfect kitties! Again some of these babies are TOO SMALL to go solo so u must have another young cat in the home or adopt in pairs. All kittens no matter what age, do not grow up with the best behaviors without another cat to help them esp during their tween months. Say hello to Biscuit, he is a 6-year old male. Biscuit is new to us and we are still getting to know him, we will update his profile once we know more about his personality. Like all cats and kittens, he will need lots of socialization, play time and love. Biscuit has a super fluffy coat and will benefit from extra brushing to help him maintain it and keep it free from knots. Biscuit tested positive for FIV. Though there is no cure for FIV, recent studies suggest that cats with FIV commonly live average life spans. FIV does not transmit from cats to humans. The primary mode of transmission between cats for FIV is through deep bite wounds from an infected cat. Casual, non-aggressive contact, such as sharing water bowls or mutual grooming, does not appear to be an efficient route of spreading the virus. As a result, cats in households with stable social structures where housemates do not fight are at little risk of acquiring FIV infections. Our adoptions staff will update you on the specifics regarding this. He has been neutered, microchipped, dewormed, and is up-to-date on vaccines. Biscuit is currently available to meet you in person at the Lifesaving Center at 307 West Broadway between Grand St and Canal St. The Lifesaving Center is open to visitors 11:00am-7:00pm, 7 days a week.
