Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   Meet Hera! This gorgeous fluffy girl is a Maine Coon (mom was purebred Maine Coon and dad was 1/3 Maine Coon). She has the good looks and awesome personality the breed is known for. She is incredibly affectionate and friendly and loves everyone she meets. She has a dog-like personality and wants nothing more than to sit with you and be pet. She gets along great all the other cats and dogs at her foster home- a true friend of everyone! She has very long, thick fur that gets easily matted (she had to have some mats shaved off when she arrived at DPR). So she will definitely need someone who is committed to brushing and grooming her regularly to keep her comfortable. She is a stunning cat who captures the hearts of everyone who meets her!  This cat is spayed, microchipped, up to date on distemper and rabies vaccinations, dewormings, tested negative for FIV/Felv, is on flea/tick preventative and ear mite preventative. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out a 'Cat Adoption Application'   at   www.DelawarePetRescue.org/forms       Adoption fee is: $300 Can’t adopt? Consider donating! We are in need of cat food, litter, and enrichment items for the kitties in our care!    Links to our Amazon and Chewy wishlists: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/QFBUQI1CQBCZhttps://chewygivesback.prf.hn/click/camref:1100lkBUr/destination:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.chewy.com%2Fg%2Fdelaware-pet-rescue_b88829590 If you are interested in adopting this cat, please submit a 'Cat Adoption Application'   at   www.DelawarePetRescue.org/forms    This website is updated daily.  If the animal you are interested in adopting is listed as 'available for adoption', that means the animal is still in DPR's care. *Please note - we do not do in-person meet and greets. Potential adopters can speak to the cats foster mom on the phone or do a meeting on Zoom or Facetime if desired to virtually meet the cat. You can pick your kitty up 'curb side'. Cats can be returned with a full refund for up to one week. *     DPR cats receive the following medical care prior to adoption:  Initial vet visit Spay or neuter (if cat is 6 months or older)Rabies vaccination (if cat is 6 months or older)Distemper vaccinationSNAP testing for FIV, Leukemia and heart wormBroad spectrum dewormers Monthly flea/tick preventative Ear mite preventative The above is standard for ALL cats in our care. But many cats we rescue also require some additional TLC prior to adoption, such as antibiotics, eye ointments, wound care, fungal treatment, x-rays, or various surgeries.  We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 charity. The adoption fee helps to offset our standard and non-standard vet bills.     Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 12, 2026, 11:06 am

Story
Zima is the definition of a gentle little wallflower. She’s shy at first and tends to hide while she figures things out, but underneath that cautious exterior is a sweet, sensitive kitten who just needs someone patient enough to let her bloom at her own pace.Once she feels safe, Zima shows her softer side through quiet companionship. She loves bird watching from the window and will happily curl up beside you in bed at night. She’s completely docile and tolerant of nail trims and brushing, making her an easygoing companion even when she’s feeling timid.Zima would do best starting out in a small space like a bathroom or bedroom while she adjusts to her new home and people. Having time to settle in slowly will help her confidence grow tremendously. She absolutely adores other cats and feels safest with feline friends around, so a multicat home would be ideal for her. Watching her little personality emerge around other kitties is seriously heart melting. If you’re the kind of person who understands that love sometimes takes time, Zima is ready to reward your patience with affection, tiny moments of trust, and the sweetest companionship.

Story
Lulu is a super-soft long-haired floof with the confidence of a queen and the heart of a cuddle bug. Lulu commands the room wherever she goes, but she is also incredibly sweet and snuggly. Her favorite place in the world is lounging on your lap, purring away and making biscuits or grooming your arm (so thoughtful!). When she wants a snack, attention, or just to chat, she’ll let out the cutest high-pitched little meow.Lulu is extremely food-motivated, likes belly rubs (!), and never says no to catnip toys, Churu, or a good brushing session. If you’re looking for a fearless, communicative, affectionate companion with main-character energy and endless floof, Lulu is ready to take over your home - and your heart.

Story
Grant’s story started out a little rough, but you’d never guess it from the cat he is now. He came into our care through a TNR program absolutely covered in mats from head to toe. Somehow, the incredible team at PAWS Grant Avenue worked their magic and were able to gently brush him out during his neuter, sparing him from a full shave.Because of that, his coat is still growing back in and may look a little thinner right now, but don’t worry, he’s getting fluffier by the day and well on his way to his full glow-up.What Grant may have lacked in grooming when he arrived, he more than makes up for in personality. He is incredibly affectionate, the kind of cat who leans into you for pets and soaks up every bit of attention he can get. He’s also playful and curious, always ready to chase a toy or settle in for some quality birdwatching. And if snacks are involved, you’ve officially made a best friend for life.Grant has clearly decided that indoor life is the good life, and he’s embracing every second of it. He’s the perfect mix of sweet, fun, and a little bit silly, and he’s ready to bring a lot of love (and personality) into his future home.
