PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION BELOW. IT WILL ANSWER ALL YOUR QUESTIONS. If you still have questions after, we are happy to respond through email. It is a long read and a long adoption process. Please understand we are ensuring that our babies go to great homes and we don't know you personally (yet). Understand that this is an adoption of a beautiful little soul that deserves the absolute best life. The average lifespan of a cat is 13 to 20 years. Some cats even live into their thirties, although this is far less common. So don't let that discourage you from adopting an adult cat! A lady on Next Door reached out to our rescue partner and asked if she could help a kitten. She was found in a bush alone in Torrance, Ca. SHELL was feisty and so small. Meet SHELL, a reserved three-year-old Diluted Calico Maine Coon from Torrance, California whose soft, pastel-toned fur reflects her gentle and quiet nature. With her long, fluffy coat that blends soft grays, creams, and whites, SHELL is a picture of elegance and grace. She may be shy at first, often preferring to observe her surroundings from a cozy, tucked-away spot, but with a little patience, she begins to open up in her own delicate way. SHELL has a refined personality and will allow pets—but only on her terms. She enjoys gentle head scratches and soft strokes when she's feeling comfortable, making her a true cat who values her independence. She’s skittish with sudden movements or new situations, but given time, her cautious curiosity will win out, and she’ll be quietly near, soaking up the calm energy of her environment. SHELL gets along well with other cats, blending into a multi-cat household without causing any fuss. Her mellow nature makes her unreactive to dogs, so she could live peacefully alongside a calm canine companion as long as they respect her space. While she’s never been around children, SHELL might do well in a quiet home where she can settle in at her own pace without too much hustle and bustle. Her Maine Coon heritage gives her a majestic look with a luxuriously thick coat and a large, regal presence. However, unlike the stereotypical social Maine Coon, SHELL leans into her more reserved, introverted side, making her the perfect match for a patient and understanding caregiver who will give her the time she needs to feel safe and secure. Are you ready to provide a calm, loving home where this beautiful girl can thrive at her own pace? If you’re looking for a quiet, independent companion who will blossom with time, SHELL may just be the perfect addition to your family. SHELL is a DILUTED CALICO / MAINE COON MIX. She is about 3 years and 6 months old and is good with cats. In her foster home, she was around other kittens and older cats. She has never been around children. We are not sure how she will do with dogs, but she is non-reactive. SHELL is currently located at our rescue in Hemet, California. ADOPTION PROCESS: 1. Go to Workinwhiskers.com (Click on ADOPT) 2. SERENA and her sister VERONIKA was saved by an independent rescuer back in early 2020. She was a tiny kitten. And she was adopted as a tiny kitten with her sister VERONIKA. Fast forward to 3 years later, they were returned because her son (who does not live with her) has "slight" allergies and she can't have them anymore. It took us a few months to get them back to feeling happy. Meet SERENA, a graceful 3 year old black Maine Coon, whose shy but sweet nature unfolds like a quiet evening breeze. Her long, silky coat—deep ebony like a starless night—radiates beauty, and she adores being gently brushed, especially when she’s feeling cozy and secure. There's a quiet magic in her presence, and for those who take the time to know her, SERENA’s trust is a gift that will deepen over time. SERENA may start off a bit reserved, but that’s just part of her charm. She’s still learning how to open her heart again, but she already shows a deep appreciation for affection, especially in calm, serene moments. Offer her soft pets, a few quiet words, and she’ll slowly start to let her guard down, showing that she’s ready to bond with someone who will be patient and kind. Her breed, the Maine Coon, is known for its intelligence and gentle nature, and SERENA embodies both these traits. She’s observant, curious, and, like many Maine Coons, she enjoys companionship, even if she doesn’t always demand it. This elegant girl would thrive in a peaceful, loving home where she can continue to rebuild her confidence. She enjoys a predictable environment where she knows she’s safe and can receive the slow, gentle affection she loves. Though SERENA might prefer to take her time when meeting new people, the love she has to offer is worth every moment. She is best suited for a quieter home, perhaps one where her new pet parent understands that some cats need time and understanding to fully bloom. In return, SERENA will give you a soft purr, a delicate nuzzle, and the companionship of a beautiful cat who’s learning to trust again. Are you ready to be the kind, patient caregiver who helps SERENA rediscover her love for life? Contact us to learn more about this lovely black Maine Coon who’s ready for her next chapter. SERENA is a LONG SHORT HAIR / MAINECOON MIX. She is about 3 years 10 months old. She has lived with cats but needs proper introduction. She has never lived with dogs. She has never been around children. SERENA is currently at our rescue in Hemet, California. ADOPTION PROCESS: 1. Go to Workinwhiskers.com (Click on ADOPT) 2. Fill Out Online Form 3. Story
Hello My name is Zaila which means power in Arabic. I was found by a college student on the hot pavement with no mom around and my umbilical cord still attached. She had to return to school and had no time for a newborn so reached out to our rescue for help. Zaila is vivacious and playful and full of kitten energy. She loves playing with bottle caps, feather, balls and climbing cat tree on her cat condo. She is very affectionate and would love to have a lap or shoulder to call her own. Zaila would need a kitten pr other young cat she could play with because she is very social and active. She gets along with cats, kittens and children. If you are interested in adopting please go to our website at www.southerncountiesrescue.org and complete our online application. Thanks.

Story
75% maincoon 25% ragdoll. Got him from a good breeder. Cat has so many great qualities. Super friendly, cuddly, playful. His problem is basically an eating disorder. He will eat anything (besides fruits and veggies). If you leave any food out he will eat it m. Has no portion control, whatever you leave in the bowl he will eat. When he eats the random stuff he has bathroom accidents. We have young kids and just are not able to clean every mess right away and he gets into it and has accidents.

Story
I’m a beautiful 10-year-old Maine Coon with a heart full of love and a gentle spirit. After being left behind by the family I adored, this petite girl—that’s me—is searching for a forever home where I can finally feel cherished. I'm in great shape, too. I may be a bit shy when you first meet me, but don’t let that fool you! With just one gentle pet, I transform into a purring machine, ready to show you my affectionate side. My quiet demeanor makes me the perfect companion for a cozy night in, and I thrive in a calm environment where I can feel safe and loved. Having recently passed a thorough health exam with flying colors, including tests specifically designed for older cats, I’m in excellent shape! No issues! I long for a human who will dote on me as much as I will on them—I’ve got plenty of love to give! I spent many recent days feeling lonely in my previous home, especially after the girls I grew close to went off to college. I didn’t bond much with the adults, so I’m eager to find someone who will appreciate my unique personality. I’m currently in a boarding facility, waiting patiently for my forever family to find me. If you’re looking for a sweet, gentle companion who will be by your side through thick and thin, I, Mazy, am your girl. Let’s make my dreams come true! Can you offer me the loving home I deserve? I hope so. Looking forward to meeting soon! I have a great meow. Wait until you hear it! My foster says, “Mature girl cats are the BEST.” I won’t argue.

These pups are in Temecula, California too!
