Story
Meet Aurora, a beautiful, long-haired, all-gray girl with stunning yellow eyes and a gentle disposition. She is affectionate and very playful... and loves to be picked up or sit in your lap. When we rescued Aurora, she was living in a large colony in Baldwin Hills. A family was feeding the cats, allowing them inside their home, handling them and also had built an outside shelter for. Other than these things, the family did nothing to stop the continual breeding and overpopulation. Originally, I was dealing with 12 sick kittens from the location so, we focused on trying to get all the breeding adults/juveniles, fixed and vaccinated... starting with the females. Aurora was going to be released once she recovered from her spay surgery but while being held at the transporter's home, she escaped. We were so worried about her being in an unfamiliar area but, fortunately, Aurora found her way back to the woman's garage. Soon, she was inside and sitting in their laps. I just didn't have the heart to release her back outside. She's highly-social and would do best in a home with at least one other friendly feline. She also has been around dogs so that could be a good match for her, as well. This girl is very gentle and will meow for affection or attention. She pushes her head and body into your hands, when getting pet and scratched, lifting her bum for maximum scritches! You'll find her full rescue journey chronicled in Photo Album #34 on our Facebook page: "Save The Leadwell Kitties" (including video and photo updates on all our cats and kittens). I'll be creating an adoption video of her and will be uploading here, to the site. Aurora's adoption will include her: * Spay surgery, * De-worming, * Flea and mite treatment (with NexGard Spectrum), * FVRCP vaccinations, * Rabies vaccination, * Combo-test (for FIV/FeLV = negative), * and Microchipping! ~ $150. adoption fee, adoption contract and home check apply / $250 for a pair ~ * Please only contact us if you'll be making Aurora a permanent member of your household and will be keeping her safe indoors. Interested in becoming a much-needed foster? Please send us a message with your best contact info, the type of home environment you can provide and, most-importantly, the City in which you live. Thanks!

Hi, I'm Lanie and I am a Maine Coon mix. I am already big for my age so if you are looking for a very big girl, I might be the one for you. My sister is also looking for a home, but we can go to separate homes. My foster moms say that my sister and I like to hide but come out to play and cuddle when they call us. They also said that we are very curious and a little mischievous. If you think I might be the one for you, then please text 424-501-5769 and complete the application online at www.rescuemepets.com/forms

Story
Sweet, beautiful Tabitha was rescued from the streets in the nick of time. Unbeknownst to her, I could see 2 coyotes in my headlights coming straight for her. Tabitha was just happy to see me knowing I was bringing her a meal. I scooped her up and put her in a carrier before she even realized what happened! She's now totally acclimated to the good indoor life. She loves her warm, soft bed and regular meals. Tabitha is a beautiful, petite Main Coon mix with a gorgeous thick coat of long fur. She's only about 8lbs, she's all fluff! Tabitha is very sweet and affectionate but can be very shy at first with new people and places. She needs a patient human that will let her slowly blossom into the love bug that she truly is. Tabitha would probably be best as an only pet, Queen of the Castle getting all of your undivided attention. Though she gets along with some cats and with a proper introduction may be ok with a cat friendly dog. She would do best in a small, quiet home with just 1-2 adults to dote on her. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Give our cats & kittens a loving, forever home, and let them put a smile on your face!     (Courtesy posting:  email foster at socalpetrescue1@gmail.com or fill out application at socalpetrescue.com) Fozzy Bear (born May 2024) is a sweet Muppet who loves to alternate play with lounging in a sunny window. Fozzy has a sweet but dominant spirit and would do best with youthful cats. He likes to play with his pal Benji and his little sister Malina who live in the same foster home and are also available for adoption. He would also be fine with all of the attention as a solo cat. He can be a rascal and gives love bites when overstimulated; he is also well mannered. If you sleep in, he will come and find you and snooze quietly until you are ready to join him in the day. An adult household would work best for Fozzy as he was rescued as a very shy kitten and remains a bit sensitive to loud noises and abrupt movement. With a soft and fluffy black coat, Fozzy will need an owner who understands long hair breed needs. The reward is amazing poses complete with elegant tail swirled around. For a big boy, he has the sweetest mew. We could go on and on. Fozzy Bear is truly a very cool kid.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 28, 2025, 6:29 pm

Story
Cocoa is a very very sweet but mischievous 2 year old kitty. He was rescued from Kuwait and is a Siberian / Turkish Angora mix who was rescued from the streets in Kuwait and flown to the United States for rescue with his mom. He loves to give kisses and is always looking for attention, he will follow you everywhere - even into the shower (he doesn't really mind water) - and he is super playful and high energy. He is "okay with other cats. He will use his size to dominate and bully other cats whom he decides he doesn't like, however, he's also very good with other cats who he does like and enjoys playing with. He is a very big cat, and he will go out of his way to climb shelves and knock down your favorite nik naks. He's definitely not a beginners cat, but he absolutely keeps us entertained and he is such a cool cat to have around. If you are interested in meeting any kittens or adopting, please fill out my adoption application, http://tiny.cc/applytoadopt Adoption fee is $200. Kittens come spayed or neutered, FVRCP vaccinated, dewormed, flea treatment, and microchipped.
