Story
King Francis De-Valois came to us timid and scared. When we picked him up from the shelter, he low growled to let us know he needed his space. After entering his cage and offering a friendly pet, he took it gently and graciously. Once he was out of the shelter, he was a new dog almost immediately. Still timid, he allowed his foster mom to pick him up and hold him the whole way home. After about 3 days in his foster home, he was a completely different dog than the scared and timid one at animal control. He is thought to be a 2-3 year old maltese mix, 14.3 pounds. King Francis would do best in a home where a human can be with him regularly. He loves to be on your lap, and will walk eagerly with you to your next location, be it the bathroom or the kitchen! He loves to play with his toys and is very treat-motivated. Francis shows loyalty to us by always staying near us, even in the few rare occasions he has slipped out of our gate, he has stayed by the back door patiently waiting to get inside. Francis loves to run and jump, and would do best for his humans to keep valuables and human food out of his reach, (above table and shelf height). He is good with other dogs, cats, and chidren. He is potty trained, on an every-two hour basis. He has had some accidents over night. King Francis loves to snuggle, play, and always be with his humans. He is a smart dog and he’s eager to please his humans!
King Francis's adoption fee is $300. He is neutered, current on vaccines, microchipped with registration, heartworm tested negative and on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. If interested please apply at gfrpets.org/apply/adoptdog/
