Story
Hello, I'm Dolly! I'm a 3-year-old, 14-lb Maltese. I am a certified snuggle bug who is looking for someone who will love her as much as she will love them.
General Behavior: Dolly is truly a wonderful dog! She is goofy, funny, loving, affectionate, a quick learner and really just wants to please. Above all, Dolly is VERY affectionate and loves to give love! Once you are her person she will not let you out of her sight to begin with but as she gains confidence, this will improve. She can be spooked by loud noises and takes a little longer to warm up to men. Her people will need to continue her road to full confidence and trust!
Likes & Dislikes: Dolly LOVES her walks. She also enjoys sunbathing, playing with all her toys, and getting lots of love from her humans.
Training: Dolly is a little lady! She is housetrained if let out frequently, walks well on a leash, is well-behaved on car rides, and generally has good basic manners. She even sleeps in the people bed at night.
Medical: Dolly is a healthy girl! She just needs her monthly flea and heartworm preventatives, like any dog.
Other Animals: Dolly has loved every dog we have met on her walks, whether big or small. There is another small dog in her foster home and she wants to follow her every lead and play with her. Her foster believes Dolly needs a home with another balanced dog who can continue to show her the ropes and help her gain even more confidence. Her fosters do not have a cat but when she has seen them on walks she has not reacted to them.
Children: Darling Dolly is good with children of all ages.
Home: Dolly does not like to be left alone, so she needs a home where someone is around more often than not. She would also do best in a home with a fenced in yard as she loves to lie in the sun and we take her out potty often to reinforce where she should relieve herself.
Grooming: As a Maltese, Dolly will need to be groomed about every 6-8 weeks and will need regular brushing.
Overall: Dolly will make a wonderful companion for an active family that is ready for long walks, constant companionship, and a lot of love.
