Story
Hi, I’ve just recently arrived after HSDC helped rescue me from a local puppy mill who discarded me. I’m finally experiencing so many firsts like being petted, hugged and loved! I’m looking for a patient adopter to help me decompress from the mill and learn what it’s like to finally get to be a dog. How did I get here? Ohio ranks second in the nation for puppy mills, with documented violations including poor living conditions and lack of medical care for dogs. The Humane Society of the United States has identified 16 of the worst puppy mills in Ohio, where dogs suffer both physically and mentally. Recent news stories are highlighting the urgent need for industry reform, but we’re not there yet. Advocacy for better conditions and responsible breeding practices is crucial to address this ongoing issue. If you’re interested in meeting me, please reach out to HSDC!

Story
**COME SEE ME at our next ADOPTION EVENT on Saturday, February 8 from 11 am - 2 pm at Tractor Supply in Columbia Station, 24100 Royalton Road. If you have an already approved application, it's possible you take your new friend home that day.** Hi, my name is Oscar and I’m a 13lb, 3-year-old Lhasa Apso mix. I absolutely love going for walks, playing fetch, or just spending time with my foster family. I’m a very friendly boy. I get along well with other dogs and children, but I’ve yet to be around any cats so I’m not sure how I will react. I’m super affectionate and would make a great companion for anyone looking for a happy young dog. I’m working on my potty training and I do a great job of keeping my crate clean overnight. I’d love to have a home to call my own. If I sound like a good fit for your family, fill out an application to meet me ASAP! All dogs available for adoption are in foster homes. Please do not visit the location as it is a privately run boarding, training, and grooming facility. Meet and greets are scheduled by appointment only for approved adopters. Age: 3 Years Adoption fee: $400
