Foster update 3-2-25 Clodagh weighing in this morning at 19.1 lb is a 5year old Female Lhasa Apso. She is kind and playful and is enjoying learning to be a dog. She has gone to my patio door and scratched at it to go outside, though she is not completely aware she is supposed to potty while she is out there! She is fine with cats and other dogs.

Meet Celtic, a sweet and resilient 7-year-old Lhasa Apso who is looking for his forever home. Celtic’s journey has been heartbreaking—rescued from a terrible hoarding and backyard breeding situation, he was living outside with 28 other Lhasa Apsos, in filth and neglect. Covered in matted fur, soaked in urine and feces, Celtic’s condition was devastating. But thanks to the kindness of a compassionate groomer who donated her time to help this rescue pup, Celtic has been groomed, bathed, and is now feeling like the handsome boy he was always meant to be. Despite the trauma he’s endured, Celtic is slowly learning to trust again. He’s shy at first, but once he bonds with you, he’ll follow you around with love and loyalty. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and is thriving in his foster home, where he’s learning how to live indoors and experience the care he deserves. He’s doing well with potty training and is comfortable in a crate. Celtic’s eyes will be checked soon, as his foster has some concerns about his sight, but we’re committed to ensuring he gets the care he needs before being officially adopted. He will also be fixed prior to adoption. Celtic is being fostered in Fenton, MI, and he’s ready to start a new chapter in life. Finley is a 2 year old male Lhasa weighing around 20lbs. He is still working on the crate but he has found a great spot in the corner that he loves. He is still a bit distant but he lets his foster cuddle him and he doing great with potty training! Finley was rescued from a horrific backyard breeding situation, where he had been living outside with 28 other Lhasa Apsos. When found, he was extremely filthy and matted, covered in urine and feces. His condition was heartbreaking, but thanks to the generosity of a kind groomer who donated her time, he has since been groomed and bathed, and is now feeling much better. He is being fostered in Brighton, MI Apply to adopt at www.sgdhrescue.dog He will be at our adoption event at Premier Pet on Saturday from 11-2. (The 2nd & 4th Saturday of each month.)
