Story
Dominic is a wonderful companion! With his energetic personality and affectionate nature, he seems like he would bring so much joy to the right family. Dominic is a young, handsome, 1-year-old pup weighing 16 pounds, making him a manageable size. His love for people and constant tail wagging highlights his friendly disposition. Dominic needs an active family that can keep up with his energy levels. Regular walks and playtime will be essential for his happiness. While he may need some potty training, keeping him on a consistent schedule will help him adapt quickly. His progress with the doggie door is a good sign! A secure yard is a must due to his impressive climbing abilities. Potential adopters should be prepared to provide a safe environment for him to explore and to take him to obedience training. As a Lhasa Apso/Poodle mix, Dominic will require regular grooming to keep his coat healthy and looking great. He is scheduled to be neutered and is already microchipped and up to date on vaccinations. Dominic would thrive in a loving home, where he can be the center of attention and have plenty of opportunities for adventure. Anyone interested in adopting him would be gaining a loyal companion who's ready to bring happiness into their lives! Here is a list of things that should help us answer you in a more timely manner. 1. When you apply please always use the same email address. If we need to look something up later and you used a different email we are often not able to find it. 2. Adopt a Pet and Petfinders ask you to send us an enquiry. This always delays our response. (Why) a. Our biographies are always very detailed. Therefore sending an enquiry asking us to repeat what it says in the biography causes a lot more work and delays our response. b. We are a small non-profit and do not always have the help to answer as many enquiries as we get. c. Again our Biographies are very detailed and if you just click the link near the bottom of their bio you can fill out an application which we will respond to. 3. For the AFC website (scroll down to the bio at the bottom it says (apply to adopt today- click that link) www.animalfriendsconnect.org 4. For Petfinders ( scroll down to the biography then click the adoption link) http://animalfriendsconnect.org/adoption-application-dogs/ 5. For Adopt a Pet (scroll way down past “Ask about me”) you will see the biography and underneath that will be the adoption questionnaire link. Story
NAME:Ellie MaeSTATS:Female, Lhasa Apso/Havanese mix, 1-2ish years, 15 lbs.TEMPERAMENT:Shy at first and warms up to Friendly.Active adolescent energy.Loves playing with other dogs, but will be fine as only dog with playdates.SKILLSPotty trained.Crate trained.Leash trained.Good with dogs. Will be good with children over 7 (due to her play style)Can learn to be around cats.MORE ABOUT ME:Likes belly rubs.Couch cuddler.Likes walks.Likes playing with other dogs.BREED needs regular clippings to avoid matting. (every 4-6 weeks)Would benefit from Basic Training Class.ONE LAST THING:This lovely lady has a bff personality; she will follow you everywhere once she gets to know you. Ellie is a bit shy at first and can be barky at times meeting men at first but warms up within a day. (She was initially a little bit barky and unsure about Caleb, but he fed her some treats and they shortly after that became friends and she was all over him). Ellie is more active than just a lapdog. Playful and slightly mouthy so would do best with kids over 7 ideally due to her play style but she is overall very friendly and loving. She has an adolescent level of energy so she would be ideal for a home who is appropriate for a young, moderately active and very playful adolescent dog. She loves playing with other dogs, but I think she would also be fine as an only dog as long as she's given regular opportunities to get out and have some play dates with other small, friendly dogs. Ellie will require grooming every 4 to 6 weeks to avoid matting. She was very matted and may need a little work to get used to being brushed more and more as well as grooming. She may try to play with the cats and annoy them or chase them a little, but she was pretty good around my cats as well so I think with the right person with cats she would do fine.
