BANDIT, recently groomed and clipped, is a long legged Lhasa Apso/Maltipoo, who is 7 years old, 17 pounds, and has been an only dog with the same family (who could not keep him), since puppyhood. Bandit does bite people. His main flaw is that he is overly loyal and protective, and will take a bite out of a stranger's foot or ankle if they suddenly come too close. Lhasas are a very ancient breed and were fierce little sentinel and guard dogs for the Dalai Llama and Buddhist monasteries in Tibet. The 14th Dalai Llama sent them as gifts to the West, and they have been a favorite ever since. Bandit is neutered and vaccinated and we are searching for an understanding and patient new home where he can be the dedicated guardian he was meant to be. He adores walks, playing with other dogs, and all people. He enjoys leash walks but can sometimes pull a bit in excitement to meet other dogs. He is potty trained with the use of a crate and loves to go and chill in his crate as well. He comes when called, loves rubs and snuggles and relishes being around his people! He does seem to have some slight vision and hearing impairment. This guy is a great companion for anyone looking for a lifetime of love. Sweet Tanner is about 75% blind and deaf. This does not in any way affect his sweetness! However, he loves to be outside with all the smells and inside he loves to by his dog friends and/or his human. He can sometimes bump into things until he learns where they are and has trouble navigating new sets of stairs.
