Story
Some people have space heaters under their desks to keep their feet warm- with Ellie, you won’t need that anymore! This precious girl is a total office dog, she loves to lay under our desks here at the rescue, and she’s so warm and friendly with everyone that she meets that she could definitely become a staple at your office! Put this girl on the payroll- department: HR, job title: Morale Booster! We estimate Ellie’s age to be around 2 years old, just past the terrors of puppyhood but still young and eager to learn. Ellie is believed to be a Great Pyrenees, Lab mix, but she is a rescue so her exact age and breed are unknown to us and cannot be guaranteed. Meet Ellie here: https://youtu.be/_nUYZvE4gCA?feature=shared The first thing people notice about Ellie is her beauty, and the second thing people notice about Ellie is her kindness. This sweet girl greets strangers with relaxed body language, a wagging tail, and as many kisses as they’ll allow. She’ll haul the front half of her body up onto the couch to give you her signature half snuggle, and she’ll let you hug and snuggle her. She has such soft fur too- petting Ellie is scientifically proven to reduce stress! With other dogs, Ellie is just as friendly! She’s relaxed, warm and welcoming with new dogs, and playful too! She’ll sniff a few times, and then bounce over, stretch into a big play bow, and then it’s off to the races! Chase and wrestling are her specialty, but she’s not too rough with the other pups. She has a lightness to her that makes even her most energetic jumps land softly, which is appreciated by the other dogs at the rescue. Ellie could thrive in just about any multi-dog home, she’s a total doggy-daycare type, a polite socialite with her canine companions. Here at the rescue, Ellie met a kitty. She was perfectly unfazed by their first meet and greet, and the second time around it only got cuter- Ellie gave our house cat some forehead kisses! We think Ellie would be perfectly fine living in a home with a dog-savvy kitty. Ellie has many of the “good dog” skills down already, she has good house manners and doesn’t pull too much on leash. She is still learning her leash manners, and with a little more polishing she’ll be a perfect walking companion in no time. Ellie also has a wonderfully balanced energy level that allows her to both play-play-play outside and settle quickly for a nap once inside. Ellie does ask that we let her potential adopters know that she is scared of passing cars, this is true for many rescue dogs but it is worth mentioning that Ellie handles that stress incredibly well. She doesn’t get grumpy with humans or other dogs because of it, she doesn’t run away or pancake to the ground- she’s a very good and well mannered girl! Because of this, we think she would be happier in a home in a suburban or rural area- no “big city life” for this soft and easy going girl. Ellie is ready for her happily ever after! She could do well in a multi-dog home, or as your one and only. She could live with dog-savvy kitties! While we haven’t seen her with kids just yet, we think Ellie could make a good family dog for a home with kids over 5. We do not recommend Ellie for a home with dogs under twenty pounds. We believe Ellie would be happier in a house than in an apartment. Ellie will require a family that is dedicated and willing to follow our standard decompression protocol. We are willing to test Ellie with anything you need us to in order to ensure he is the perfect match for you! We can make most anything happen! Just let us know. We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success. Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: ● Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family ● Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test ● 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion ● A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions ● 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription ● Coupons for a fun visit to Petco ● 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions ● Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer ● Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission! Story
Holy lover-girl! Do not be fooled by her size, this is a lap-dog/puppy/angel baby. She is soft and snuggly like a teddy bear so when she climbs up to sit on your lap you will be absolutely wrapped in warm goodness. Don’t worry, she knows she is a bigger girl so she has learned that only about half of her fits in the average lap so she will either give you the front half-paws and head, or the tail-end like she is sitting on Santas lap. If you only have a few minutes to fall in love- watch her video but I can sum it up- Lacey is loyal, cuddly, innocent and silly, and a friend to all from dogs to cats and all the people. Lacey is about 2 years old, 75 lbs, and is just giving golden-good devotion. We cannot guarantee breed or age given she is a rescue but we believe she is an Anatolian/ Lab mix. Like so many breed mixes similar to her, Lacey creates a strong bond with her people and falls hard. She is the most loyal and loving pup and anyone who lands in her loving radar will never wonder if she is 100% heart and soul, their #1 girl. There is nothing better than the devoted, powerful love of a dog and Lacey comes with that and so much more. Lacey has been fortunate to wait our her days until adoption in a loving foster home where they praise her outgoing, silly, and loving ways. They have shared that she is both house and crate trained, has joined them for Fancy Footwork classes where she has learned all the best leash manners, and knows a few basic commands, while always being ready to learn more. She is treat motivated so training is an enjoyable process and she is a quick learner. It was mentioned before that Lacey is a friend to all and she really showed us how true that is when she was introduced to dogs- not only was she fast friends with all the dogs she met, she tried hard to make a friend out of the donkey next door. If the fence wasn’t there I think her play bows and barks would have gotten him bouncing around with her too. Lacey doesn’t need another dog to be fulfilled, remember she loves her people, but she would enjoy other dogs and would do great with a dog of similar energy. We would describe her energy level as medium with very brief moments of medium/high, that amounts to about 30 seconds of chase or a tumbling wrestle with a buddy. The beauty is she comes back to baseline easily so a high-energy, non-stop friend would overwhelm her- she knows the power of chilling out. She currently resides with a crew of other pups and does great. She especially likes to play with her basset hound foster brother- his ears are fun to pull on! Lacey loves to chase and does play with some toys- bring on anything squeaky or stuffies! Get this gal some fun new chew toys to welcome her to the family and she will be on cloud 9! During Lacey's cat test she did great! She does not live with any cats but has met several on different occasions and has showed the same respectful curiosity. She is unbothered if they give her a swat and understands that means they want a little space. Whether they swat or not, she checks them out and then walks off. A dog savvy cat would be a great fit for her- they can set the rules and she will follow them. Lacey does not live with kids but when introduced to them she was great. Given her size and love for close, cuddly love older kids 10+ would be best for her. Lacey is a bit like a kid herself and would enjoy having a little friend to run around with so knowing her size wont intimidate or knock over a little one is key. Let’s talk dream home- Lacey dreams of a home with space for zoomies and rounds of chase in the yard. We can only imagine how happy she would be to live the farm-dog life. A playful, confident, tag-along girl who looks real good in a truck, its the stuff of dreams for more than just Lacey. You will have to do two things though, get the car door- she is a lady after all, and maybe give her a little boost. Now that is do-able and well worth it for her. It happens, but Lacey has truly stolen the hearts of everyone here and we cannot wait for you to know why!
