Story
2 year-old miniature Dachshund. Spayed and microchipped. Shots up to date. She’s very friendly, playful, and loves to snuggle and be held! Also loves treats and snacks like strawberries with peanut butter. She gets nervous sometimes during car rides but tolerates them just fine. She has some separation anxiety when left alone for more than 3-4 hours. She had an occurrence of dermatitis last summer that cleared up and eats food for sensitive skin.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Louie! Just like our favorite local hot dog joint, this little wiener dog is ready to soak up all the attention this summer. Louie came to us from the city shelter after being surrendered and struggling there — but once he landed in his foster home, he absolutely blossomed. About Louie Louie is approximately 4 years old, weighs around 12 pounds, and is every bit the classic Dachshund: affectionate, silly, loyal, and full of personality. He warms up quickly to new people and loves to be the center of attention. If you’re looking for a little shadow who wants to be part of everything you do, Louie is your guy. He loves toys, treats, walks, car rides — truly, if it involves fun or being near his person, Louie is all in. His big brown eyes and wagging tail (with the cutest white tip!) make him impossible not to love. Personality & Behavior Louie is very affectionate and eager to please. He loves to cuddle, burrow, and curl up right next to you. He follows his foster mom everywhere — whether she’s cooking, watching TV, or relaxing outside, Louie is happily trotting along. He is: Leash trained House trained - Please expect an adjustment period Doing well with crate practice (not fully crate trained, but tolerates it when needed) Good overnight and sleeps through the night Dog friendly and would enjoy a canine friend (not required) His foster home does not have cats, so his reaction to them is unknown. Louie would do best in a home with no children or children 13+, as he prefers a calmer environment. A fully fenced yard is ideal for this little explorer, but not required. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and heartworm negative. His adoption fee is $600, which helps support the medical needs of our long‑term dogs. ❤️ We require that a martingale collar be used at the time of adoption. If you do not have a martingale collar, you can purchase one from Pixie Mamas for an additional $10. This requirement is in place to ensure the dog's safety and security. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 9, 2026, 9:40 pm
