Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $400 plus taxWalter is a goofy and cuddly guy who wants to be near his people. He loves laying in the sun, going on walks, treats & toys and being under the covers.    Walter needs a fully fenced yard as he can be quite the escape artist. He likes to run for short bursts in the yard and find smells to roll in.  Walter gets along with his two resident dogs, but is still learning polite greetings with new dogs.   Walter is very curious, and needs someone who can be patient and reassure him. He is still working on leash training and is currently demonstrating some reactivity with other dogs. Based on the fosters observations we beleive that Walter may be hard of hearing.   Walter is left home with the resident dogs for a few hours at a time. He is known to be a snoop and counter surfer, so he is put in a room with our resident dog. He will settle when left with a doggy friend.    Walter picks up on patterns and routines quickly. He is not a quiet boy and will express his needs.   At this time, we do not how Walter does with kids or cats. Walter tends to be curious, cautious and skittish around new animals and meeting people outside the home.    Currently we are working on basic obedience and leash etiquette. Walter seems to have some reduced hearing and vision. We suspect it's genetic/congenital. He does not seem to be in any pain from it and we are working with MARS Vet to keep tabs on it. If you have previously applied with us please email adoptionatmars@gmail.com to reactivate your application with new interest. All fees are subject to MN sales tax and a processing fee at the time of adoption. We accept Credit cards, Debit cards as well as cash. At this time we do not accept checks.   Our Adoption fees for all animals cover required vetting: which includes, Rabies, Distemper Vaccine Series, Bordetella, Deworming, Heartworm Test as age appropriate, Spay or Neuter and Microchip and registration. Adoption Fees are Non Negotialble. All fees are subject to MN sales tax and a processing fee at the time of adoption.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. //

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $300 plus taxRowe, also known as Frank, is a wonderfully polite and sweet gentleman. He is very well-mannered in the home and quickly adapted to his surroundings. When he first arrived, he was curious about the scents of other dogs and showed some initial interest in marking, but he was easily redirected without any issues. While the kennel isn't his favorite place, he handles it well, settling down within 10-15 minutes. His true happiness comes from spending time with his humans—whether cuddling on a lap or snuggling under the covers. He walks nicely on a leash and would be a great companion for a leisurely walker. Frank recently had some dental work and is missing a few teeth, but he still eats dry kibble and enjoys softer foods. He is generally quiet, only occasionally barking when joining in with the excitement of other dogs. He gets along well with other dogs, though he appreciates having his personal space respected and will give a gentle warning growl if needed. His behavior around cats is unknown. Frank would thrive in a home where someone is often present to provide the love and lap snuggles he adores. He also seems to respond well to the name Frank and would make a loving and loyal companion!   If you have previously applied with us please email placement@midwestanimalrescue.org to reactivate your application with new interest. All fees are subject to MN sales tax and a processing fee at the time of adoption.
