Meet Yeti! This handsome boy is a 2-year-old Long Haired Dachshund who weighs 18.4 pounds. This silly little man loves his toys and has a knack for adventure — you might even catch him climbing counters!  Yeti keeps a tidy kennel and loves to show off his adorable prance when he's out in the yard. He'd likely do best with older children who can respect his space while they enjoy his fun personality. If you’re looking for a playful, charming companion who will make you smile every day, Yeti might be the perfect match! His minimum adoption fee is $300 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Story
Meet Margie — your loyal little lamb Margie is a 9-year-old wire-haired Dachshund with a heart as soft as her now-lush coat. Her ideal weight is 13 pounds (she’s currently 15 pounds), and she happily enjoys walks that help keep her feeling her best. Margie is perfectly content being crated when you’re away, but when you’re home, she wants to be right by your side—and yes, that means sleeping next to you. She’s a true companion dog who thrives on closeness and routine. When Margie arrived, she was in rough shape, suffering from severe flea allergy dermatitis. Most of her fur was gone, her skin was sore and infected, and her ears were badly infected as well. Despite all of that, she remained incredibly sweet, gentle, and cooperative, even for medications and medicated baths. Today, her coat is full and beautiful, her ears are healthy, and she’s feeling so much better. She’s a quiet girl (not barky), does well in the car, and would be fine with kids. With other dogs, she’s generally okay with dogs her size or smaller, though she can get a bit jealous if another dog tries to steal her lap, and she may politely (or not so politely) tell others to scram from her food bowl. She’s not a big fan of large dogs. With cats, she may chase if they run, but otherwise coexists just fine. Margie is truly a doll—a devoted, affectionate little soul who has come so far and is ready to be someone’s constant companion. If you’re looking for a snuggly, loyal best friend who will keep you company through everything, Margie is your girl. Please apply here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DBSR/Dog Her minimum adoption donation amount is $275 She is spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, heart worm checked, and on flea/tick and heart worm preventatives. We are located in Bloomington, IL We do not ship, you would need to travel to pick up your babies if you live out of state. Your current pets must be up-to-date on core vaccines, spayed/neutered, and on heart worm prevention year round. You must be at least 21-years-old to adopt. Please have your veterinarian and two non-family reference phone numbers ready. The app makes you start all over if you leave the page to look up numbers.
