Story
Welcome Jazz to CCPAL Rescue. Jazz is a 2-year-old Airedale/Irish Terrier Mix dog. She weighs about 70 pounds and has the scruffy terrier coat. She is not a big shedder and is very friendly. Jazz had an elderly man owner. Her owner is now in hospice so CCPAL was asked to step up for his 3 dogs. Jazz has some loss of hair and will be taking a NexGard. This will take care of it and she will be as good as new in a few weeks. Her owner is not doing well and the only option is for all 3 of these dogs to find a new forever home. They are well behaved and have some commands under their belt. Jazz knows sit and is decent on a leash. We do think she is potty trained as she doesn’t go in her kennel. She is very attentive and naturally bonds well with men. She wants to do what you ask and can be an only or go with other dogs. She is a stronger willed than the boy named Jett. She is a wonderful dog. She has lived in a home with two large males and did great. She would be a great companion for someone wanting a active companion that is less of a shedding dog. She is currently in Texas at the CCPAL. She can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 400 and transport is 200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hi there, I’m Claire! I’m a 4-year-old shy Wirehaired Fox Terrier with a heart as gentle as my scruffy little face. I may be a bit timid at first, but with a bit of time, patience, and kindness, I’ll show you just how sweet I really am. I’m about 19 pounds and love quiet spaces, soft pets, and cozy spots where I can feel safe. New things can make me nervous, so I’m still getting used to the big, bustling world around me. Sometimes, I freeze up or even shake a bit, but if you’re calm and steady with me, I’ll start to trust you—and once I do, I’ll melt right into your lap. I love giving gentle kisses, and I’ll snuggle up close for more pets when I’m feeling safe. I’m learning how to play and absolutely love squeaky toys, especially ones that dart around like little squirrels! Tug of war is one of my new favorite games, and I can even hold my own against my 50-pound foster sibling. Since I’m still practicing leash walking, I’d feel most comfortable with a fenced yard where I can explore and play at my own pace. I do best with a calm, confident dog friend by my side; having another dog to follow helps me feel brave, especially on walks or when we’re out and about. I’m also crate-trained, which is where I go to feel extra safe when I need a quiet moment. My ideal home would be a peaceful one with someone who’s patient and gentle, willing to go at my pace. With a little love and understanding, I’ll reward you with all my gentle kisses and quiet loyalty. Let’s start this journey together—I know I have so much love and courage to share. *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
