We have cost effective transporter who delivers to the north every 2 weeks. This pup was born 3-20-24. This pup was born to a small lab mix Mom. We do not know what dad was. This sweet baby will not be very large at maturity. I am guessing 25 to 30 pounds max! This little pup has erect ears and is so dang cute. This pup is sweet and social. This pup has been handled daily. This pup is good with other dogs and cats. We have started potty training and crate training. This pup will go home current on all vaccines, preventives, started on heartworm prevention and microchipped. The adopter will get all the health records with the adoption. FERN

Labrador Retriever German Shepherd Dog

Female, Puppy
Burlington, VT
Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)

Good with kids, Good with dogs, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. FERN was born at the Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Sebec, Maine, the night after we brought her mom, a pure bred German Shepherd Dog into our care. She was born on 21st September 2024 and has lived with her siblings, her mom and a few other teenage German Shepherd Dogs.   We post in east coast states and Canada as we have many families adopt and are happy to make the worthwhile trip up to the rescue. We do not always have time to post all the pictures on each dogs individual page, but we do post a lot of photo's on the rescue Facebook page. FERN was spayed on 25 November, she is current on her vaccinations, although she will require her rabies as she is currently too young for that vaccine. She is microchipped and at the time of her spay surgery weighed 12.20 pounds. We do not know what breed she is mixed with, but can confidently say her mother is a German Shepherd Dog - RHEA and can be seen in the photos. FERN is a young pup and so her personality is in the early stages of development and so it will be the family and home environment that dictates how she behaves as she grows up. There is no reason for her to not be great around children of any ages, unless of course the child/ren make her fearful or hurt her. We do not have any age restrictions for families with children, but do expect responsible families in regards to both children and the pup and have 100% supervision when they are together. FERN will need a family that has the time and means to care for a pup, which includes training, socialization and explosing her to as many environments as possible, but in a way that she is comfortable, safe and happy. She is going to be a medium/large dog and so an active lifestyle is important as well as a family understanding the mental needs and intelligence of this kind of dog. We are looking for a family that understands she will be teething, she will be going through her "teenage" phase and will be a lot of work. Fern has an adoption fee of $550 Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue in SEBEC, Maine to meet and take home their new best friend. Our process takes 1-2 days as long as we are able to talk to references, so be prepared to be approved (hopefully) to adopt within a few days of submitting the adoption application.
