Story
Meet the sweet, lovable Jackson! He is a year old Chocolate Lab mix, weighing 52 lbs, who has never met a stranger. He is good with dogs and loves to play. He is crate trained and housebroken. He is medium energy and working at not jumping on people and counters! Jackson is extremely eager to please and treat motivated. He walks well with a transitional leash. When he has perfected his recall and feels comfortable with his family, he will be great on off leash walks because he wants to be close to his family. We think he would do best with no small children due to jumping. Check out his adorable white toes. Fill out an application at pottersangelsrescue.org/adopt for this handsome boy.

Story
Hi there, I'm Miller! I'm a 6 month old, (neutered), lab mix puppy, and weigh about 19 lbs. I am full of energy and curiosity, looking for my forever home, could that be you? My foster mom says I’m so smart and I caught onto routines super quick just buy watching. I really enjoy the company of other dogs and would love an older sibling to play a game of tug with or chase around the yard. Cats are cool too, I will even cuddle with them, if they let me. I’m also learning basic manners, catching on quick (4 paws down, 4 paws down) and I will need someone to continue to mold me into their perfect dog. I really enjoy my crate and don’t mind snoozing away in it while you’re away or while you’re sleeping. I am really good about going potty outside and will scratch the door when I get the urge to go. If you or your family are looking for a canine companion, I could be your guy. We could take long walks together and then come inside to warm up and watch a movie together. Story
Meet our special needs girl, Kenzie! She was in an Alabama shelter for a couple of months and showed signs of a neurological issue. Our southern partner was able to secure a foster for Kenzie, and we have been working together as a team to support this courageous pup. Kenzie is five months old, 15 lbs, and the sweetest! Kenzie is doing amazing in her foster home. She is fully potty trained, affectionate, bright, alert, and responsive. Although she has a wobbly gait, she is gaining strength and mobility has improved. She recently had an appointment with a neurologist who diagnosed Kenzie with a cerebellar disorder as well as visual impairment most likely due to a birth defect or an infection of some sort. Kenzie will soon be taking a trial drug to determine the next course of action. VT Dog Rescue would like to bring this deserving pup to VT, but to do that, we need a foster or a forever family. We are hopeful for the best outcome. One thing is evident, Kenzie has no idea she is different! She is a sweetheart and a fighter! Our adoption fee is $400 which includes age-appropriate vaccines (such as Distemper, Bordetella, Parvo, and Rabies), neutering, worming, microchipping, and health exam. Discount vouchers for training, grooming, and similar dog-related products and services are provided    November 5, 2024, 10:11 am

Story
Meet our black beauty, Greta! Greta was saved from an Alabama shelter after becoming urgent and is now happily in Vermont waiting to find her forever home.  She is 2 yrs old and 50 lbs. Greta is energetic, loves to play with other dogs, and would do best with a fenced in yard and a solid routine. She is most active in the morning and again in the evening and requires a daily walk or a game of fetch to burn off some of her energy.  Leash walking is a work in progress. Greta has done well in the house, roaming free with no destructive behavior, as long as she has plenty of toys to entertain her. She is partial to her stuffies and loves to run around shaking and playing with them. Greta sleeps soundly through the night and has had no accidents in the house. She can get scared of loud noises. Greta is learning that hands are not for mouthing, and for that reason, we feel she would do best in a home with older children. Some of Greta's favorite activities are riding in the car, snuggling with her foster mom and canine foster sibling, and living her best life as a champion ball chaser.  This pup is super smart, food motivated, and wants to please. Greta's determination has served her well as a survivor as she continues to work on her basic skills and manners.   We do not provide DNA testing which is the only way to know with certainty which breeds are in her genetic background. We highly recommend training classes for all of our dogs to get everyone off to a great start. Training recommendations are available. Our adoption fee is $400 which includes age-appropriate vaccines (such as Distemper, Bordetella, Parvo, and Rabies), neutering, worming, microchipping, and health exam.
