Story
Kriss Kross is a remarkable lab rescue mix who found his way to Friends of Dogs in July 2023. When he was found as a stray, he was in dire need of care. He had a thin scar around his neck from being tied up, a sore back ankle, and infected ears. Additionally, his eyes are slightly crossed, possibly due to past trauma. Friends of Dogs rescued Kriss Kross not out of pity, but because of his sweet and happy disposition. He has a kind heart, and it was clear to the rescuers that he deserved a chance at a good life. His foster mom took Kriss Kross to the vet for a thorough assessment. He is approximately three years old, weighs 43 pounds, and is heartworm negative. The vet suspects that Kriss Kross may have experienced head trauma, affecting his brain and causing his eyes to cross. His sore ankle is likely the result of a previous injury, which may have caused it to grow incorrectly. Despite this, he doesn't appear to be in pain and has a distinctive, endearing hop when he walks. Kriss Kross has been thriving in a safe and nurturing environment, something he has never experienced before. He has been neutered and is now ready for the next step in his journey. Kriss Kross needs a special home where he can continue to receive the love and care he deserves. Kriss Kross's greatest joy is to be with people. He longs for human connection and eagerly soaks up pets and cuddles. While he is friendly and polite with other dogs, he always prefers to be close to his people. Due to his past trauma, he can be a little anxious and needy, but he has so much love to offer in return. Topi and Apple are now ready for adoption......these two gems have seriously bonded since being in foster together and we just don't have the heart to separate them. Apple would be devastated to be away from Topi, so we have decided to post them for adoption as a bonded pair. ❤ Both of these dogs are completely vetted, house trained, happy, love to be outside sunbathing, are very well socialized with other dogs, both are very affectionate and absolutely wonderful companions for some lucky family. Apple is around 9 months old and weighs about 80 lbs., but is thin and still growing. Topi is a 5 year old beauty, who is a total babysitter for all dogs, people and kids...She likes to hold hands with her people and give kisses...❤ Topi has lost 20 lbs. since we saved her, but could stand to lose about 10-15 more!...Her current weight is 79 lbs. Topi enjoys chasing birds and squirrels and has chased stray cats, so a home without cats is recommended. If you live in the northeast USA or Texas and are interested in adopting these two very special girls, please fill out an adoption application. You can't go wrong with Topi and Apple! Hope to hear from you soon....❤...Topi and Apple are completely vetted and will come with their vet records, beds, balls, bones, brand new harnesses, collars, leashes and food for transitioning. Their adoption fee is $375 EACH = $750, which includes transportation. Topi and Apple are being fostered in Texas.
We'll also keep you updated on Apple's adoption status with email updates.

Meet Finn – A 65-Pound Bundle of Love and Devotion! Finn is a stunning black Lab/Collie mix who is ready to find his forever home. At 65 pounds, Finn is the perfect size for cuddles and adventures, and his gentle, friendly nature makes him a wonderful addition to any family. This sweet boy is fantastic with kids and other dogs, making him an ideal family companion. With the heart of a loyal Lab and the intelligence of a Collie, Finn has a personality as beautiful as his glossy black coat. Whether it’s playing fetch, lounging in the yard, or enjoying a walk through the neighborhood, Finn is happiest when he’s spending time with his loved ones. Finn is crate trained and potty trained, so he’s already a pro at fitting into a home environment. He loves being outdoors and is great in a yard, but more than anything, he simply wants to be by your side. Finn’s adaptable nature and eagerness to learn make him the perfect match for someone seeking a loyal and loving best friend. Because of Finn's zest for life, a home with toddlers is not recommended due to his size. He may knock them down. By adopting Finn, you’ll gain a devoted companion who will reward your kindness with endless affection and gratitude. Finn is ready to start his new chapter and dreams of finding a family who will provide him with the love and stability he deserves. To see more pictures and videos, copy and paste this link. Story
We have a VERY special boy who is looking for his forever home. Meet Kal, whose owner surrendered him to us, because he is leaving the country and wanted to make sure his boy got the very best home. Kal's owner picked him up as a stray a couple of years ago, when he found him abandoned on a ranch in Texas. Since then, Kal has been a very loyal companion. He is a very CALM boy, who knows basic commands, is house trained, very loving and just an all-around good guy ❤ Kal is a big, 6-7 year old, weighing in at about 150 lbs., but could stand to lose a little weight to protect his joints. Kal would be the perfect companion for a retired couple or someone who works from home, who live in a rural setting, as Kal is used to living in the country with his retired owner. Kal would be perfectly happy as a single dog, as people are his focus, but gets along fine with the other dogs in his playgroup, he just doesn't show any interest in playing. That said, if you live in the Northeast OR Texas and are interested in giving this sweet guy a home, please fill out an adoption application. Hope to hear from you soon......Kal's adoption fee is $500, which includes complete vetting and medical record, new bed, Harness, leashes, collar, ball, bone, food for transitioning and transport to his new home.... Kal is currently in boarding in Texas.

Story
Moose (~2yo) got into a fight with my other dog, after I adopted him in March. After the fight both dogs have not gotten along with each other, leaving me to keep them separated at all times. I don’t feel this is fair for Moose, and this is why I’m making this post. Moose is great with people, and other dogs, just not with my other male dog he got into a fight with. Moose loves to cuddle, and play outside. I believe moose would be a better fit in a home where the family can keep him entertained.

Story
Meet Mary Ann and Ginger, an adorable bonded pair of medium-sized rescue dogs who are searching for their forever home. These super cute girls have spent their entire lives on their own until they were recently rescued. Despite their rough beginnings, Mary Ann and Ginger are incredibly sweet and are now learning to enjoy the comforts of a loving home. Both Mary Ann and Ginger get along wonderfully with other dogs, though they haven't had the chance to meet any cats yet. They need a patient adopter who will give them the time and space they need to adjust to their new surroundings and discover the joys of being cherished pets. Ginger, who bravely underwent heartworm treatment, is now healthy and heartworm negative. Both dogs are fully vetted, spayed, microchipped, and on preventatives. They even tolerate baths and absolutely love being petted. Currently, Mary Ann and Ginger are being fostered in Seguin, TX, where they are receiving the care and love they deserve. If you have a kind heart and a gentle hand, these two sweethearts will surely reward you with endless affection and loyalty. Adopt Mary Ann and Ginger and give them the loving home they've always dreamed of.
