Story
Duke is such a great dog. He's probably around 1 1/2 years old and is primarily a Labrador, but he may also have some Lacy in him. Duke is neutered, up to date on his vaccinations and is house trained! Duke has such a great personality - he loves to run around and play ... and of course, give & get kisses. He gets along well with everyone and just wants to spend time with our volunteers.

Story
Barkley is a real sweetheart. He is a delightful Texas Blend, maybe with a small Lab mix. His two siblings and himself came to us as puppies but they both are long adopted. Somehow, Barkley got overlooked and is now past the “cute and small puppy” stage. However, he still loves to play with other puppies and run around with toys in his mouth. His home is on the ranchette with several other dog friends; a home with a dog buddy would be best to show him doggie ways and to model joy/things to be excited about – like walks are fun and for sniffing and show him how to do things . He is super smart, listens well, and loves to cuddle on you. He is food and treat motivated, so will be easily trainable; he will need weighted bowl so that he can eat in a way that is he comfortable/familiar with. He likes having a crate/den area easily accessible so he could feel secure. He will need housetraining reinforcement. It is Barkley’s turn to get out of foster care. He really belongs in a loving home, with his forever family. Can you have it in your heart to give him one soon please? Barkley spent a month of training and is a recent graduate of Bobbi Colorado’s Canine Camp. We invested in this training, as we do not wish for him to grow up in a "shelter" environment forever. If you are an active family who loves walks, runs, or just the outdoors, Barkley is the one for you all. Go to our website for more pictures of Barkley. We require a home in the Austin metro area with a privacy fenced yard, and children over 8. Barkley’s adoption fee of $250.00 covers his vet exam, age appropriate vaccinations, fecal test, dewormer, heart worm preventative, neuter procedure, and microchip.

Story
Up for adoption in Texas: Mocha. Mocha has lots of personality! Just look at how she poses for pictures, she shines and makes funny faces. She is about 7 years old and weighs 47 pounds. Mocha wants nothing more than to find her forever family. Mocha is a beautiful, fluffy, black and white girl, with gorgeous, hazel eyes. She listens well and redirects easily. Mocha would do best in a quiet home without a lot of people coming and going or young children running about. We think she may have some herding dog breed in her and she doesn't like people or kids zipping around her or her yard. Adults and/or adults and older teens would be ideal for Mocha's forever home. She needs a fenced-in backyard. She does best with slow introductions to new people. She likes other dogs but can be a little bossy, so we'd recommend a home where she can be the only dog, or perhaps a home with another chill or submissive dog. (We would require a meet and greet if an adopter has an existing dog.) Mocha is not fond of cats. To set Mocha and her new family up for success she will need continued positive reinforcement training and we can help you find the right trainer and set you both up for success! Mocha is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, housebroken, and crate trained. Apply now at www.luckylabrescue.com!

Story
Shadow says: "Pick me! Pick me! My name is Shadow, and I'm up for adoption in Texas and I keep getting overlooked! I've been waiting for my forever home for more than a year. I'm getting sad." Shadow is about two years old, and he weighs about 50 pounds. He seems OK with cats!! Like a typical young dog, Shadow has lots of energy and loves to play. But he does very well in his crate and can be calm. He'd be a great hiking buddy or possibly running pal. He gets along with most dogs; for some reason, he isn't a fan of one dog he knows. We're not sure why. So if an adopter has another dog, we'd recommend a meet and greet first. Shadow has been non-reactive to cats, though. In fact, we had him cat tested, and we were told, "The cats checked him out from afar, then jumped right down and started rubbing on him. He wasn't so sure about it, but he stayed calm and gave no red flags." Shadow was originally adopted from Lucky Lab when he was a puppy during the pandemic. Several months later, he was returned to the rescue because his owners were busy with their kids and had no time to train him--he was a bit of a wild child. We'd like anyone who adopts Shadow to be an experienced dog owner and continue the positive reinforcement training he's received since he was returned. We think Shadow is very smart and would love the stimulation and attention he receives during training. He'd do best in a home with a fenced-in yard and adults and or adults and kids over 15. Shadow also needs exercise and playtime. Shadow has a lot of love to give, and we'd love for him to find a wonderful forever home. He is very loyal. He's housebroken, vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. Apply at www.luckylabrescue.com

Story
Up for adoption in Texas: Lacey. Lacey's foster mom says she is an amazing one-to-two-year-old black Lab mix with a personality as big as Texas! She is a happy, go-with-the-flow girl, but two of her greatest pleasures are bird-watching and snuggling. If she could describe a perfect afternoon, it would be lying in the sunshine, watching the birds fly by. When the sun goes down, she loves to hop in the bed with her humans (with some help, which she patiently waits by the side of the bed for) and snuggle. She also believes that sleep is best-experienced upside-down. When Lacey’s foster family isn’t home, she is content in her kennel. She’s such a smart girl that Lacey runs and waits in the kennel when her foster parents grab the sausage treats. She lives with three other female black labs and two human boys (12 and 16) and loves all of them. When out and about, Lacey gets excited and loves to follow her nose, so she could use some practice on recall. Lacey had a hard life before she was saved by Lucky Lab. She suffered a leg injury. Lucky Lab raised money so she could have surgery, and now she's doing well. If you become an approved adopter for Lacey, we can fill you in on all the details and her records. She seems very happy and active now! If you’re looking for a best friend to snuggle with, take long naps with, or explore the great outdoors with, Lacey might be your perfect fit! She is fully vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, and housebroken. Apply at http://www.luckylabrescue.com
