Story
Macey is a 5 year lab/pit mix who we adopted during COVID. She is curious, sweet, and energetic. Unfortunately, she no longer gets along with our small toy poodle and since we adopted her we have had a baby. We are looking for a home where she can explore and that can provide the maintenance that she needs. Macey is crate trained and we can provide this to her next home if it is something that is needed. Macey does get along with dogs her size.

Story
Please help! I live in Leander, TX and I need to rehome my dog asap. His name is Zero and he’s almost 7 years old and just a big sweetheart. We originally adopted him from Jackson, MS. His vaccination aren’t up to date as of 2024, and he is fixed. He’s good with kids, albeit he sometimes doesn’t know how big he is. He’s pretty calm throughout the day and just sleeps on his bed. I need to rehome due to a change of living situation. I’m just not able to keep him anymore.

Story
Shadow says: "Pick me! Pick me! My name is Shadow, and I'm up for adoption in Texas and I keep getting overlooked! I've been waiting for my forever home for more than a year. I'm getting sad." Shadow is about two years old, and he weighs about 50 pounds. He seems OK with cats!! Like a typical young dog, Shadow has lots of energy and loves to play. But he does very well in his crate and can be calm. He'd be a great hiking buddy or possibly running pal. He gets along with most dogs; for some reason, he isn't a fan of one dog he knows. We're not sure why. So if an adopter has another dog, we'd recommend a meet and greet first. Shadow has been non-reactive to cats, though. In fact, we had him cat tested, and we were told, "The cats checked him out from afar, then jumped right down and started rubbing on him. He wasn't so sure about it, but he stayed calm and gave no red flags." Shadow was originally adopted from Lucky Lab when he was a puppy during the pandemic. Several months later, he was returned to the rescue because his owners were busy with their kids and had no time to train him--he was a bit of a wild child. We'd like anyone who adopts Shadow to be an experienced dog owner and continue the positive reinforcement training he's received since he was returned. We think Shadow is very smart and would love the stimulation and attention he receives during training. He'd do best in a home with a fenced-in yard and adults and or adults and kids over 15. Shadow also needs exercise and playtime. Shadow has a lot of love to give, and we'd love for him to find a wonderful forever home. He is very loyal. He's housebroken, vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. Apply at www.luckylabrescue.com

Story
Available for Adoption in Texas: Mabel! Mabel is a vibrant 6-year-old, weighing in at 60 pounds. She’s not just beautiful; she’s always camera-ready, with a smile that will light up your day. If you’re looking for a photogenic pup, Mabel is your girl – she’s a total ham! With her big personality and energetic spirit, Mabel loves to be part of the action. She enjoys the company of other dogs but would prefer not to feel confined by gates or crates when they’re nearby. If you currently have a dog at home, we recommend a meet-and-greet to make sure everyone’s a good fit! While we’re not sure how she would be around cats, she hasn’t shown much interest when passing by them on walks. Mabel is eager to please, especially when there are treats involved, making her a great candidate for continued positive reinforcement training with an experienced owner. She’d do best in a home with adults or families with older teens. House-trained, vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed, Mabel is all set for her forever home. Ready to add Mabel’s joyful and sweet personality to your life? Apply today at www.luckylabrescue.com!

Story
Up for adoption in Texas: Franklin is a beautiful, sweet lab mix with a good amount of energy weighing approximately 65 pounds. He is around 3-4 years old and loves taking long walks multiple times a day and playing outside. He gets a case of the zoomies almost every night before bedtime and loves playing with his Kong toy or chasing a ball around in the backyard. We are still working on leash control with walks as he likes to pull, especially when he sees a squirrel to chase, but he’s made great strides since coming to his foster home. He is strong and does best on walks with a harness. He loves all the people he meets out on walks, too. He’s been a friendly guy!! Franklin is not a big fan of being crated but is good with free roam of the house. He loves to be around his people at all times. He sleeps in his dog bed next to his foster mom but loves morning cuddles on her bed. He is a smart boy, is good with "sit" and taking treats, and likes to give lots of kisses! Franklin would love a forever home that will allow him plenty of time to exercise throughout the day or play ball, give lots of belly rubs, and be with him for the majority of the day. It’s not necessary, but he would likely do well with someone active, maybe a runner or hiker. Franklin is vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, and house-trained. If you think Franklin may be a good fit please apply for him at luckylabrescue.com

Story
Hi there, I’m Lucy! I’m an 11-month-old, 55-pound bundle of fun, and I’m available for adoption in Texas and New England! My favorite things? Playing in the backyard, tossing my toys around, dining al-fur-resco at pup friendly patios, and zooming around with other pups! I’m a gold star student at doggy daycare — I always have great notes on my report cards for being friendly, playful, and the life of the paw-ty! If you love to run or hike, I’d make the perfect partner — I’ve got energy to spare and a love for adventure. I also love riding in the car and exploring new places. Road trip, anyone? But don’t let my playful side fool you — I’m a PRO at snuggles. After a fun-filled day, I’m all about belly rubs and cozy naps. I also love looking at myself in the mirror — what can I say? I think I’m adorable! I walk beautifully on a leash, checking in and heeling like a champ. I’m working on sitting at every stop, and I go on daily walks to keep up my skills! I sleep peacefully through the night in my crate, and will hang out in there when you’re gone with a frozen Kong during the day. I might talk about it a little at first (I just don’t want to miss out on all of the fun!), but with consistency, I’m learning to settle in nicely. I may need a little patience hopping in and out of the car, but if another dog shows me how, I’m all in! I’m still a bit of a curious pup — I love toys and would enjoy plenty of them so I don’t go looking for my own (like sticks, rocks, or other fun little treasures I find outside). I’m working hard on my manners too! I don’t jump on my human friends inside, but sometimes when I get extra excited outside, I forget. If you turn around and ignore me, I remember my good manners and sit for attention like a polite pup. I’m working hard on my training to be the best pup for my forever family! I’m spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and on preventatives — ready to start my next big adventure with you! Think I might be your perfect match? Apply today at www.luckylabrescue.com!
