Story
Up for adoption in Texas: Mocha. Mocha has lots of personality! Just look at how she poses for pictures, she shines and makes funny faces. She is about 7 years old and weighs 47 pounds. Mocha wants nothing more than to find her forever family. Mocha is a beautiful, fluffy, black and white girl, with gorgeous, hazel eyes. She listens well and redirects easily. Mocha would do best in a quiet home without a lot of people coming and going or young children running about. We think she may have some herding dog breed in her and she doesn't like people or kids zipping around her or her yard. Adults and/or adults and older teens would be ideal for Mocha's forever home. She needs a fenced-in backyard. She does best with slow introductions to new people. She likes other dogs but can be a little bossy, so we'd recommend a home where she can be the only dog, or perhaps a home with another chill or submissive dog. (We would require a meet and greet if an adopter has an existing dog.) Mocha is not fond of cats. To set Mocha and her new family up for success she will need continued positive reinforcement training and we can help you find the right trainer and set you both up for success! Mocha is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, housebroken, and crate trained. Apply now at www.luckylabrescue.com!

Story
Shadow says: "Pick me! Pick me! My name is Shadow, and I'm up for adoption in Texas and I keep getting overlooked! I've been waiting for my forever home for more than a year. I'm getting sad." Shadow is about two years old, and he weighs about 50 pounds. He seems OK with cats!! Like a typical young dog, Shadow has lots of energy and loves to play. But he does very well in his crate and can be calm. He'd be a great hiking buddy or possibly running pal. He gets along with most dogs; for some reason, he isn't a fan of one dog he knows. We're not sure why. So if an adopter has another dog, we'd recommend a meet and greet first. Shadow has been non-reactive to cats, though. In fact, we had him cat tested, and we were told, "The cats checked him out from afar, then jumped right down and started rubbing on him. He wasn't so sure about it, but he stayed calm and gave no red flags." Shadow was originally adopted from Lucky Lab when he was a puppy during the pandemic. Several months later, he was returned to the rescue because his owners were busy with their kids and had no time to train him--he was a bit of a wild child. We'd like anyone who adopts Shadow to be an experienced dog owner and continue the positive reinforcement training he's received since he was returned. We think Shadow is very smart and would love the stimulation and attention he receives during training. He'd do best in a home with a fenced-in yard and adults and or adults and kids over 15. Shadow also needs exercise and playtime. Shadow has a lot of love to give, and we'd love for him to find a wonderful forever home. He is very loyal. He's housebroken, vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. Apply at www.luckylabrescue.com

Story
Available for Adoption in Texas: Mabel! Mabel is a vibrant 6-year-old, weighing in at 60 pounds. She’s not just beautiful; she’s always camera-ready, with a smile that will light up your day. If you’re looking for a photogenic pup, Mabel is your girl – she’s a total ham! With her big personality and energetic spirit, Mabel loves to be part of the action. She enjoys the company of other dogs but would prefer not to feel confined by gates or crates when they’re nearby. If you currently have a dog at home, we recommend a meet-and-greet to make sure everyone’s a good fit! While we’re not sure how she would be around cats, she hasn’t shown much interest when passing by them on walks. Mabel is eager to please, especially when there are treats involved, making her a great candidate for continued positive reinforcement training with an experienced owner. She’d do best in a home with adults or families with older teens. House-trained, vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed, Mabel is all set for her forever home. Ready to add Mabel’s joyful and sweet personality to your life? Apply today at www.luckylabrescue.com!

Story
Up for adoption in Texas: Bella. What a gorgeous girl! Bella is about 2-3 years old and weighs about 55lbs. She lives in a wonderful foster home with two adults and two kids, ages 10 and 13. Her foster family says Bella is great in the house and has no issues. She's housebroken and crate-trained. Bella loves to play and is a lot of fun to play with. She loves fetch and swimming. She loves to run around but settles down well. Bella loves her toys and plays with them very gently. She also likes playing with other dogs and did well during a dog park outing. Bella is still learning to master walking well on a leash. She gets very excited when she sees other dogs while she's on a leash or when she's in the car. Her foster mom worked with one of our trainers, and Bella is improving. She is very food-motivated, which is incredibly helpful with training. Bella sleeps on her foster family's couch at night. She is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Apply for this beauty at www.luckylabrescue.com

Story
Up for adoption in Texas and New England: Dusty. He is about four or so years old (he might be a little younger) and weighs 55 pounds. Lucky Lab got a call from a shelter that a super nice "Lab mix" was in dire need. The facility was crowded, and Dusty's life was at risk for space reasons. We couldn't resist his sweet face and kind eyes, and one of our kind foster moms opened her home and heart. She says Dusty loves to play with toys and run around the yard, but he is not hyper. He walks well on a leash with no pulling and is not afraid in public. Dusty is very sweet-natured and loves to be petted. He is housebroken and crate-trained. He gets along with other dogs and likes to play. Cats live in his foster home, and he coexists with them but will chase them if they run. So, a cat-free home might be better for this guy. Dusty likes to sleep on his dog bed at night. He is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Apply for Dusty at http://www.luckylabrescue.com

Story
Sierra is a shy girl when you first meet her. Once she warms up she is fun and playful and just can't stop wiggling! She will do best with another dog as they seem to make her feel more at ease, not to mention she loves to play. She has been around an 8 year old and showed no aggression but was nervous so we think she will do better with older children 10+. She is medium- high energy.  We don't know her back story but know she deserves the best future with lots of walks and love. Will you be the one to give that to her?  Apply at rockabullyaf.com  ##1150424##
