Story
Hi! My name is Silvia, but my foster mom calls me Callie. I would love to be your brown eyed girl. I’m a young high spirited female mix of catahoula, lab and whippet. While it’s not polite to ask a lady her age or weight I am around a year old and 37 pounds. I am super affectionate and enjoy meeting people and other dogs. I go into my kennel without a fuss. I am 85% potty trained and still figuring out the doggie door evidently feet first isn’t quite right. I am practicing leash training and working on my manners. I am a quicker learner and will be good at agility or running and love long walks. I enjoy car rides and snuggles and have met the neighborhood kids and they really like me. Don’t be fooled by my sleek exterior I have a very impressive bark. I have a great time play with my foster sister we have so much playing. I am working on not getting too excited when I see cats and squirrels but hey I am part catahoula it’s in my name. I am looking for a loving home and I think we could have lots of fun together! **Because we require home visits, we only adopt locally to the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Story
Very cuddly 5 year old boy needs a loving home! He may be big but wants nothing more than somewhere cozy to cuddle up, or bake in the sun! While he typically ignores cats and can get along with other dogs, he'd be best as an only pet. He may do well with other pets with an experienced individual, but ultimately would prefer to keep all the love and attention to himself! He is house trained, kennel trained, walks well on a leash, and knows his basic commands. Circumstances make it impossible to keep him. He is a very loving dog that needs someone who can give him back that love and care! Will be rehomed with kennel, blankets, leashes, and some food.

Story
This sweet adorable boy is making progress. We are so proud of he and his brother; they have had a long road but are learning life can be good to them. He is a petite dog, just the perfect size. He absolutely adores being outside. He loves to run and spin. He comes to the window when he is ready to come back inside. He is very sweet and quiet, does not make a lot of noise and loves his chew toys so that is a must! He is an overall sweetheart once he knows he is safe and feels comfortable. Bullwinkle came to us shy and timid. He will need someone who is patient and willing to help him with his insecurities; while he is making strides he will still need patience and time to acclimate. He will do best in a home with another dog that will help him build his confidence. He is about 35-45 lbs, almost 2 years old, loves salami, and his chew toys. He will need a home with a backyard since he is shy and the freedom of a yard allows him more time to come out of his shell. Older children who understand the need to go slow with him are recommended. All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Story
Miss Melly is a beautiful golden lab with soft eyes and happy demeanor. She is 6 years old and has been overlooked for a long time. She is playful, loving and very food motivated. She will need a fenced yard and no young kiddos. Melly is someone who deserves love, patience and will actively establish safety for her. We're looking for an adopter with a heart for Melly. She loves to give kisses! A quick learner and knows basic commands and love treats! She likes to go in her crate even with the door open! Melly is a little unsure of new people, usually men and needs slow intros with dogs. She has shown that with true decompression and slow intros she can get along great with another dog. All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Story
'Grow old along with me, the best is yet to be' - Robert Browning Amora is a sweetheart with a heart full of love and just the right amount of senior dog energy. She enjoys walking around the neighborhood just as much as she loves staying indoors sleeping on the couch. She loves people, food, and naps...in no particular order. While Amora is crate trained, her laid-back personality doesn't really require it. This love bug is looking for a forever home where she can thrive as the only four-legged family member. In return, she offers a lifetime of tail wags, kisses, and cozy cuddling sessions. She is such a sweet soul. She happily will jump up beside you and press her little body close for pets and loving. She is super sweet, super calm and always ready for belly rubs. She seems to have some lab, terrier and dachshund as she has a long body and is a low rider. Amora is knee-high and 'knee-din' a home that will love her furever. She loves her stuffies and anything that squeaks. She is a sweet girl and loves her humans. This sweet momma was being given away for free with her 9 puppies. We always hate to see that and while we can't always do anything we were able to wrangle enough fosters to save this little family. All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Story
Introducing Coco Mann, a handsome 5-year-old boy weighing in at 76 pounds. Coco may be a little nervous when meeting new people, but he truly thrives in the company of someone who is home often or has another dog companion. We have found that apartment living may not be the best fit for him, as he benefits from having someone around to spend time with. Coco's journey began when he was found in the outside kennels of the Fort Worth shelter during a time when they were asking dogs to be moved due to frigid temps. Recognizing the need for immediate help, we took him into our boarding facility for temporary housing. However, after seeing what a wonderful dog he is, we couldn't bear to send him back to the shelter. With open hearts, we made the decision to bring Coco into our rescue, where he now awaits his forever home. Since arriving in our rescue, Coco has shown us what a great dog he is. Currently living in a foster home with other dogs, Coco may feel a bit nervous around little children due to their fast movements. However, in new settings, his disposition is adorable, submissive, and happy. With time and patience, he continues to gain confidence and is now thriving on the leash. Walking beside you, Coco has become quite the pro! Coco is a couch potato by nature, but when it's playtime, he will entertain himself endlessly with a toy. He loves tossing it up in the air and engaging in playful antics. Additionally, he has shown good compatibility with cats, although proper introductions are highly recommended as each cat's personality is unique. While we're uncertain about how Coco would do with young children due to his nervous nature, we believe he would be just fine with bigger kids over the age of five. His loving and good-looking demeanor makes him an ideal companion for a family ready to give him the chance he deserves. If you're looking for a loyal and affectionate buddy, Coco is waiting to steal your heart. Don't hesitate to reach out and give this deserving pup a forever home filled with love and understanding. #AdoptCocoMann #RescueDog #ForeverHomeNeeded All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. This beauty is Esperanza. She is 4 years old, 55 pounds. House and kennel trained. LOVES other dogs. Enjoys snuggles, belly rubs, and splashing in the pool. She has a rough and tumble play style and loves wrestling. Anyone have an energetic dog who could use a friend? She could be the perfect playmate! This beautiful lab was living in the shelter with her puppies. She has given all she has to her puppies and now it's time for her to shine. She is calm, quiet and patient. She's very sweet, completely house-trained, crate-trained and is very food motivated. Essie (Esperanza) is getting good at sit, as long as you have treats. We're practicing with distractions present currently. She does the cutest little paw lift when she sits. She is such a good sweet smart loving perfect pal. And absolutely beautiful!!! She's very sweet, completely house-trained, crate-trained, very food motivated, and loves other dogs (she's pretty submissive). Can be timid with new people, unknown with children and cats. Around 55 pounds. All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Puppies adopted under the age of five months require a spay/neuter contract, and all dogs are required to be spayed by six months unless otherwise medically noted. Our dogs are currently on heartworm preventative. Puppies receive 3 to 4 rounds of vaccinations depending on their age, and adults receive two rounds unless they've been with us longer than a year, in which case they receive the booster update. You can complete an application or view all the adoptable pets on our website at www.dallasdog.org/adopt. Upon receiving your application, please allow us 2-3 business days to review and process.
