Story
Hix has been with our rescue for a little while. Maybe because he is always riding around with his foster mom and not getting his glam pics online enough? We are adding new pics! He is a perfect buddy to have if you like to get out and about, he would enjoy going with you. This dapper guy is a 2-year-old Shepherd Lab mix that doesn't seem to be bothered by a whole lot of things. He enjoys his snacks, hangs out with his buddies in his foster home. Hix walks well with our junior and adult volunteers. He is never in a hurry to get back from visits or adoption events. He enjoys walks where he can people watch. His foster mom says he seems to be crate and house trained, and is an excellent guest at her house. He would do well in a single dog home or in a multi-dog home. Hix is up to date on vaccinations, heartworm test negative, and neutered. Would you like more information? Contact Liz at 214-616-6128. Story
Meet Millie! Millie is a charming and lively 1.5 year old dog with an incredible passion for running and playing. Despite her high energy level, she also enjoys spending time with her human friends, cuddling up on the couch, and getting lots of love and attention. Millie is quite athletic and requires a 6-foot stockade fence as she can easily climb and jump over anything shorter. She is a strong chewer, so durable toys are a must. Millie is still learning how to walk on a leash without pulling and will require ongoing training to help her master this skill. She is already house-trained and crate-trained, making her the perfect addition to any home. While Millie doesn`t do well around cats, she adores male dogs and will thrive in a home with a furry brother or two. Millie is a stunning dark chocolate color with one ear that stands up and the other that stays down. She is an absolute joy to be around and will make a wonderful companion to anyone who has the time and energy to keep up with her lively spirit.Millie`s story is even more inspiring and heartwarming. Millie was actually picked up by animal control as a stray, and while she was there, she gave birth to a litter of puppies. Shortly after giving birth, Millie caught a cold. Unfortunately some of her puppies caught the cold as well which was later diagnosed as Distemper (Millie was not diagnosed with Distemper). Sadly, some of her puppies did not make it, but five of them did, thanks to the loving care and attention they received from their foster! Millie is a survivor and a true testament to the resilience and strength of dogs. She is now ready for a forever home, where she can be loved and cherished for the rest of her life.To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt. It doesn`t obligate you, but it is the first step. We don`t get to all of the inquiries but respond to all applications. Thank you for choosing to rescue!

Story
Meet Jax!Jax is a beautiful solid black 2 year old lab mix pup. He`s funny, playful and a loving boy and follows some commands. Jax is pretty intelligent and has had some training but he`s still very uncomfortable around strangers. He will need more training and socialization to help him overcome his fears. Jax gets a long great with his foster sisters but needs slow introduction to strange dogs. He`s never been around children so I don`t recommend small children in the home. Jax is really a great boy and may love someone much more active. He doesn`t chew on anything in the home but watch those Kleenexs!!To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt. Story
Meet Cassian! Hi, I am Cassian!!! For the most part I need a schedule that lets me have outside time and regular potty breaks. I can hang in my crate, but nowhere near as long as my buddies. I am pretty good and creative about helping them keep the mess to a minimum though. Which is pretty great for only being 1 year old! I am beyond super smart and will dig to find water! I lead the pack and beat to my own drum occasionally too. I am pretty laid back and so far get a long with everyone! I have my Foster Nona wrapped around my paw because I am that awesome personality wise! But I know that I need a good human to teach me some new tricks and give me that extra attention that I need to reach my true potential. I can play fetch, but I honestly would rather just run around with the ball in my mouth or lay out over there and chew on the ball for a few before I resume my yard duties of sunbathing or coming in and laying near your feet. I really want to be where ever the action is. I currently live with a toddler and can be a little overwhelming at times for her, but with the right family I would become the bestest big brother a kid(s) could ask for! I am a talker too… but I do know how to quiet down when asked. Lets be best friends! To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt It doesn`t obligate you, but it is the first step. We don`t get to all of the inquiries but respond to all applications. Thank you for choosing to rescue!
