Story
Aster is almost 10 months old! We think she's a black Lab/Terrier mix, but the breed mix is 100% guesswork on our part. Aster has THE BEST ears ever. She's a smart, sweet girl that has normal puppy energy. She would be so excited to find her forever home with another playful dog her size so they can have long wrestling sessions and wear each other out! She loves to take walks or hikes and explore all the things along the trail. She does well on leash and wants to use a harness on her walks because it's a great fashion accessory (and helps with learning leash manners). She absolutely loves going to the lake. She doesn't swim, but she splashes around paw-deep in the water like it's the coolest thing ever! Aster's most favorite thing is chasing flying insects, and she has plenty to choose from with all the Cicadas and June Bugs flying around this year. She likes to play fetch and tug with durable toys; the soft stuffed ones only last about 5 minutes! Aster is a little shy when you first meet her but if you toss down a good treat you can be her BFF within a few short minutes. She warms up to women quickly, but will take a little longer with men. Small children make her very nervous, so no kids under the age of 10. She is housebroken and has learned some basic commands - she sits like a champ, absolutely LOVES to chase balls and brings them right back to you and drops them at your feet. She is a smart cookie and will be a fun and loyal companion for the right adopter. The first step to meeting Aster is to submit your application, and one of our adoption counselors will contact you.

Story
Apollo is such a good, sweet boy, it just breaks our hearts that he's never been given a REAL CHANCE! Apollo is crate and potty trained. He walks well on a leash and does great in the car. He is dog and kiddo friendly, and has even learned to peacefully coexist with the kittys. He is an active guy but also has a chill mode!  Apollo would make an excellent running partner or the perfect snuggle buddy! He's super smart, eager to please and very treat motivated! Apollo absolutely LOVES his people and loves to snuggle but it does take him time to warm up and open up to new humans as his heart has been broken so many times in the past.  Once he opens up to you though, you have a loyal and devoted companion who will spend every day of his life loving you and trying to make you smile. He loves splashing in the water, chasing balls, carrying around his toy octopus, riding in the car or curling up in the smallest bolstered bed in the house. His FAVORITE activity is being as close to his human as possible because he is so eager to be loved! Black dogs are so often over looked. Please don't overlook this guy. He is so much fun and had an incredible amount of love and loyalty he's just waiting to shower you with! Apollo is fully vaccinated, neutered, microchipped and current on prevention. All he needs now is an amazing family of his own! Fill out an adoption form and come meet this guy already!!! ##1383171##

Story
Kayce is looking for a loving foster home to relax in while they are recovering. Reason for Foster: Ringworm Foster Time Frame: 3 Weeks Foster time frame could be longer depending on future medical results and needs. Foster Care Plan: Kayce is being treated for ringworm which is a fungal skin infection. This can be contagious, so it is recommended that they be kept in a room away from other pets. Be sure to wash your hands and change clothing after interacting with them. A room without upholstered furniture or carpet is ideal. This kiddo will need regular lime sulfur dips and will go home with an antifungal medication. We will provide a medical consultation at pickup to ensure you are prepared to take great care of this little one. Visit this link to learn more about fostering a pet with Ringworm: https://operation-kindness-foster.my.canva.site/ringworm-foster-guide Foster to Adopt Program: Kayce is available for our Foster to Adopt Program, which allows pets to be placed with prospective adopters before they become available for adoption. If you’re interested in fostering, please visit https://www.operationkindness.org/foster/ or email us at foster@operationkindness.org to learn more.

Story
Fred is a 3.5 year old Golden Retriever mix. He only weighs 32 lbs, so he is mixed with a smaller breed, but we haven't been able to figure out what smaller breed. Foster mom says that Fred is the cutest, sweetest boy you will ever meet. Something or someone in his past has made Fred shy and untrusting. He needs adopters who will be patient and give him time to settle in and know he is safe, and it will be such a rewarding feeling to watch him gain confidence and understand that he has people who love and care for him. He loves to run and play with other dogs, so he would love to have a friendly playmate. He has great leash manners but he is still learning to enjoying car rides. Fred loves to snuggle with his fosters, in bed or on the couch or on their feet! Fred hasn't been around kids, but he is so gentle that we think he will be great with kids over the age of 6, or probably even younger. Please submit your application, and an adoption counselor will contact you.

Story
Meet Shelby, a German Shorthaired Pointer mix with a wonderful blend of playful energy and laid-back charm. She loves romping and wrestling with her dog friends, but she’s just as happy spending her downtime stretched out on the couch. Shelby is housetrained with a dog door, knows her basic commands, and has a goofy sense of humor that keeps everyone smiling. Shelby is friendly and happy to meet new people, and she enjoys being part of the action once she’s settled in. She thrives in a home with other dogs to play with and keep her company, and she’ll need a securely fenced yard with at least a 6’ fence so she can safely burn off energy and enjoy outdoor time. Shelby needs a home without cats, birds, or livestock, but she’d be a great match for a family with a playful older kid who enjoys an active, fun-loving dog. If you’re looking for a sweet, silly, loyal companion who loves dog friends, outdoor play, and cozy couch time, Shelby might be your perfect match.
