Story
Just look at this face and tell me your heart doesn't melt- Born at our shelter, with 9 siblings, Prince is just the sweetest boy. Prince was the little guy of the group so he quickly became the favorite of the shelter staff. He is very affectionate once he warms up to you and is very smart. He is a good boy who loves to play with other dogs and toys, and baby pool water. His favorite thing to do is give you hugs and try to lay across your lap while gazing into your eyes. He is a big love bug that would like nothing better than to have someone he can trust and be his best friend. He is about 60 lbs, has long legs and a great smile, though he is not fond of men he has potential. Come visit this sweet boy and you will melt. We also call him our little Romeo.

Story
Dumped on the side of the road in a box with litter mates the puppies were lucky to be seen by a kind samaritan. They were covered in fleas, ticks and ringworm, dehydrated and scared; but appeared to be healthy. They were extremely fearful of a human touch but have came along way with some TLC. Truman is still very skittish, but playful with dogs, he is very curious and still learning to trust humans, would probably not do well around small children. Truman is the sweetheart who just needs a little encouragement and confidence but he IS a flight risk so will need an experienced adopter. He would make the best friend or faithful companion for the right person. If interested in meeting him please email us.

Story
Available in TX only! Meet Goldie, a delightful foster dog ready to bring endless joy to her forever home. This sweet pup is a shining example of companionship, with a heart full of love and affection for her family. Goldie is crate and potty trained, making her a breeze to care for. She thrives on human interaction and adores snuggling up with her loved ones. Goldie's obedience skills are top-notch, with excellent recall and a repertoire of commands under her belt. She has a gentle nature, proven by her peaceful coexistence with cats in her previous home. Even around children aged 9-11, Goldie's affection shines through, though she may be too exuberant for toddlers. While she's a fantastic playmate, Goldie prefers to be the only dog in the household, as she can become territorial over her space. However, she's always up for a game of fetch and is highly motivated by treats, making training sessions a joy. Goldie loves car rides and would do excellent on a trip. Given her unknown past, Goldie thrives in a quiet home with a stable routine, where she can continue to blossom into the loyal companion she's destined to be. If you're looking for a devoted snuggle buddy who's as playful as she is loving, Goldie is the perfect match for you. To see more pictures and videos of Goldie copy and paste this link: https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/FODS-A-139 You can apply directly for Goldie by clicking the "Apply for Adoption button on the linked page. Story
Kriss Kross is a remarkable lab rescue mix who found his way to Friends of Dogs in July 2023. When he was found as a stray, he was in dire need of care. He had a thin scar around his neck from being tied up, a sore back ankle, and infected ears. Additionally, his eyes are slightly crossed, possibly due to past trauma. Friends of Dogs rescued Kriss Kross not out of pity, but because of his sweet and happy disposition. He has a kind heart, and it was clear to the rescuers that he deserved a chance at a good life. His foster mom took Kriss Kross to the vet for a thorough assessment. He is approximately three years old, weighs 43 pounds, and is heartworm negative. The vet suspects that Kriss Kross may have experienced head trauma, affecting his brain and causing his eyes to cross. His sore ankle is likely the result of a previous injury, which may have caused it to grow incorrectly. Despite this, he doesn't appear to be in pain and has a distinctive, endearing hop when he walks. Kriss Kross has been thriving in a safe and nurturing environment, something he has never experienced before. He has been neutered and is now ready for the next step in his journey. Kriss Kross needs a special home where he can continue to receive the love and care he deserves. Kriss Kross's greatest joy is to be with people. He longs for human connection and eagerly soaks up pets and cuddles. While he is friendly and polite with other dogs, he always prefers to be close to his people. Due to his past trauma, he can be a little anxious and needy, but he has so much love to offer in return. To see more pictures and videos of Kriss Kross copy and paste this link, you can apply directly for Thor by clicking the "Apply for Adoption button on the linked page. https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/FODS-A-220 All our dogs come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. Story
Peanut is available for adoption in Texas only. Meet Peanut, a sweet 1-year-old lab mix weighing in at 45 pounds. Affectionately nicknamed Peanut Butter, this gentle girl may be shy at first, but with a little patience and time, she blossoms into a silly, playful companion who will melt your heart. Peanut is a pro at being house-trained and crate-trained. In fact, she adores her crate and considers it her safe haven. When we leave the house, she happily retreats to her crate and even prefers to spend her time there when we are home, with the door open for her to come and go as she pleases. Though we don't have young children in our home, we believe Peanut would do well with kids, though she might be a bit timid around them initially. Our teenagers get along great with her, and she has shown herself to be wonderful with other dogs, both big and small. We don't have any cats, so we're not sure how she would do with feline friends. Peanut's ideal home would be a calm, low-energy environment with a patient person or family who understands that she needs time to adjust. Once she feels comfortable, she reveals her true character-a playful, laid-back dog who loves to gather and keep soft, squishy toys in her crate. These toys seem to provide her with a sense of comfort and security, likely because she had to fend for herself on the streets before finding her way to us. Though Peanut doesn't bark much and prefers napping, she occasionally surprises us with a burst of energy and adorable zoomies, which never fail to bring a smile to our faces. She also does well on a leash and enjoys leisurely walks. If you are looking for a loyal companion who is low-maintenance and enjoys a peaceful environment, Peanut is the perfect match. Her gentle spirit and loving nature make her the sweetest dog you'll ever meet. Come meet Peanut and see how she can bring joy and tranquility to your home!
