Story
This is sweet Coco and she's a happy girl who loves to give kisses. She's a Pitbull/Labrador mix with a beautiful mocha colored coat. She weighs 62 pounds, and has a short, stocky build. She has the most adorable floppy ears that are so soft to the touch! She dreams of a calm, relaxed life with good, loving people.  She needs a home without small children because their energy makes her uneasy. She's good company for calm dogs, medium to large size. She's more of a companion for other dogs than a playmate. Coco is a softie when it comes to her "babies". She likes to carry around a stuffed animal with her.  She really loves all toys and plays well alone.  She enjoys peaceful naps on the hammock, leisurely walks and just hanging around the house with her friends. Take a look into Coco's gorgeous eyes and consider making room in your heart and home for her. She is waiting for you, and we would love to make that connection. The first step is to email placement@duckteam6.org if you are interested in making her a member of your family. Coco is spayed, microchipped and fully vaccinated.  She is also potty trained, leash and crate trained.  She’s ready to have a family of her own and will make an amazing companion.October 28, 2024, 3:31 pm

Story
Foster needed!Meet Winnie 💛 A sweet 4-year old girl who is bound to have your whole heart in no time! Winnie is a beautiful blonde Carolina Dog//Lab mix with expressive ears that stand straight up, sometimes! You can`t miss them or her unique blue and brown eyes. She is a showstopper! Besides her good looks, she is an affectionate girl who loves to be loved on. Belly rubs are her favorite and she`ll gladly sit right by you until you just can`t pet her any longer.Winnie loves peanut butter and any toys which involve food-can you blame her?! Winnie is still gaining confidence in new situations so likes to follow the leader whether that be her fur-friends or her patient people. She is potty trained and is working on her leash skills. Plus she already knows ‘come` and ‘sit` and would love to learn more! Winnie does have an affinity for squirrels, rabbits and other small critters so she needs to be in a home with at least a 6 ft tall wood fence or higher. If Winnie already has your heart, apply to foster or adopt her at pawsinthecity.org

Story
Lily is an exceptionally sweet and loving 3 year old lab/terrier (?) mix. Her adorable black floppy ears and brown eyebrows will melt your heart. She is extremely shy and prefers to be indoors, and is house trained (although not crate trained). Lily has anxiety around unfamiliar people and loud noises, but has always been very comfortable around other dogs. She is not a barker.  Her idea of fun is being relaxed at home. She does not require a lot of energy or playtime, but definitely loves being pet and of course yummy dog treats. She is leash trained but prefers not to take long walks if there will be encounters with strangers.  Lily would thrive in a very low-key and relaxed home environmentVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 2, 2024, 12:17 am

Story
COURTESY POST: Hello, my name is Baby and I was rescued from a neglectful home that was starving me. I am a Lab/Shepherd mix and am about 2-3 years old. My current family cannot keep me because the other female dog will not accept me and tries to attack me every time we are together. Because of this I have to live in the garage for my own protection. I am the sweetest girl! I love people and kids. I want a family to love me so much! I am a lab/Shepard mix, spayed, up to date on all my vaccines, current on heart worm medicine, and house trained. I would be happiest in a family with an accepting male dog who is my size or a family who doesn't currently have a dog. I have been around cats in the past with no issues. All of the kids I have been around are good with animals and know how to treat me. Because I was starved, sometimes I get scared if another dog tries to take my food. I love walks, to play outside, pets. and just being around people. Will you be my forever family? We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. Your current or past dogs must be inside dogs who have been spayed/neutered and are on heartworm prevention. All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.

Story
Sir Arthur is a happy happy boi! He loves his people, likes playing with other dogs. We have not seen him with cats but may do ok with them depending on personality match. He has a good play energy although does also enjoy a bit of roughhousing with one of our other fosters who likes the same. Sir Arthur definitely is the more well mannered of the two regardless. He does need to be watched around little dogs since he can get a bit too close for their liking- he doesn't quite know his size (he is a bit bigger than an average labrador and might have a larger breed mix such as a great dane in him). So he would be best around medium and larger dogs and kids. He learns fast, is crate trained, loves watching TV and chilling with his family, curious but not enough to cause trouble around the house, loves head scratches and will sit for them very promptly, likes playing fetch, and is happy to chill out in his crate while his human has to work. He is house-trained and happily sleeps in his crate at night or when tired. Sir Arthur is a fantastic dog for a big-dog-family!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 2, 2024, 12:17 am

Lolly is the sweetest, most gentle lab mix, about 4 or 5 years old. We don't know her history but somehow she ended up on the streets living near a homeless camp. She craves love and attention. She has fit right in with the pack at her foster home, getting along with everyone. She loves car rides, going for walks and beating out the other pups for a prime spot on the couch. Indoor living with regular mealtimes -wow! This sweet girl with her big sad eyes will melt your heart. To meet Lolly in person visit us at www.dsda.org/adopt and submit our online adoption application.  * Adoption Fees: Puppies (12 months and under) - $325  Dogs (over 12 months) - $275  Qualifications for Adoption:  No dog is alike and each dog has different requirements based on breed, age, energy level and life experiences. All of our dogs live in foster homes which allows us the opportunity to learn about their individual needs.  Must be home more than not. Vet checks are required! All resident pets in the applicant's home MUST be spayed or neutered, core vaccines up to date and dogs on heartworm prevention to be considered! No exceptions.  Must be 21 years or older with identification showing present address. Must have the knowledge and consent of all adults living in the household. Story
Hank loves to love to love to love.  He is a Casonova of dogs.  Having his face as close to his person's is on his top 10 list, and it might just be the top.  He loves dogs of all shapes, sizes, ages and breeds.  It's a special skill.  He loves long walks, chasing the ball, and laying on any comfy surface available to him - especially your lap.    Hank had a difficult start to life, and it continues still - he was pulled from a shelter at 6 months, placed in a foster home, then another foster home, then an adoptive home - his owners now find themselves in a life crisis and he, and his brother from another mother must find new homes.   Please let us know if you'd like to meet him.    Hank finds some strangers scary, so we like to give lots of treats, but once he knows your a good guy, you're deep in his circle of trust.   Here's how to adopt me: Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor and you must undergo a home visit from an RHS representative. Apply. You can complete an application at an MTP event or complete it online by either clicking the button below or the “Adopt” button beneath the pet’s photo in the listings above. Phone Interview or Attend a Meet the Pets (MTP) event. This is a great opportunity to meet the pet you are interested in and see if you connect. We hold these events once a month on Saturday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. We post the pets who are expected to attend on Friday evening on our Facebook page. For exact details and locations, view our event calendar. If an event is over a week away, a counselor may contact you for a phone interview. Home Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a home visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in again and the pet can meet other pets in the family. We will try to send the foster parent so you can learn more about how the pet is in a home environment. Complete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at MTP or an off-site location. The applicant will need to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Our adoption fee is $250 for adult dogs, $300 for puppies (under 1 year) and $135 for cats. Discounts are available for senior-aged pets. APPLY HERE: www.richardsonhumanesociety.org ##1244399##

Meet the loyal and playful Snickers. He is a 1-year-old, 60-pound German Shorthaired Pointer mix. Like a typical GSP, he has lots of energy and loves to play fetch! He will do anything for food and gets along with other dogs. He currently lives with a female Basset Hound. He was adopted him from a rescue at Petsmart last year. He's not a big cuddler, but he is protective of us and our home. An ideal home for Snickers would be one with a big yard or property where he can stay busy. Snickers is crate/leash/house trained and knows the commands sit and stay. He is one smart pup! This loyal pup is deserving of the perfect furever home. Could it be with you? Story
Maggie Is Available For Adoption Maggie is the sweetest dog & a wonderful companion! She's 7 & a half years old & still fun-loving & eager to please. She's active when you want her to be & snuggly at the end of the day.🩷 She weighs 42 lbs & she's estimated to be a golden retriever/border collie cross. Maggie loves to play in the backyard & go on adventures to the beach, parks, & on hikes. She doesn't love long car rides, but she's always excited at the destination. Some of her favorite things are running around, tearing apart a new squeaky toy, yogurt lids, playing fetch & a good bed with bolsters. She loves being around the water even though she can't swim (life jacket always) & she is a GREAT walker. Maggie is selective with who her dog friends are.. she prefers slow intros. She's a little shy with new people, but warms up quickly. She does not like loud noises (fireworks & guns are a no go) and will go hide in the smallest place she can find. Maggie is perfectly housetrained & she's been fully vetted. Overall, she's a very obedient, goofy, AMAZING girl who is a joy to have around.
