Age: 11 years Weight: 68 lbs Good with dogs: Yes Good with cats: No Good with kids: No Activity level: Low Shedding: Moderate Vocal Level: Moderate Training: Basic, House, Leash, Crate  Sweet Coco has been with us since 2017. We first met Coco when we helped get her spayed and vaccinated through our outreach program. Unfortunately, her owner got sick and surrendered her. We think Coco is a lab/pitbull mix. She dreams of a calm, relaxed life with good, loving people. She needs a home without small children because their energy makes her uneasy. She's good company for calm dogs, medium to large size.  She's more of a companion for other dogs than a playmate.  Coco is a softie when it comes to her "babies". She likes to carry around a stuffed animal with her. She really loves all toys and plays well alone.  She enjoys peaceful naps on the hammock, leisurely walks, and just hanging around the house with her friends. She is a funny girl who is sure to fill your home with joy and laughter!  Coco is spayed, microchipped and fully vaccinated.  She is also potty trained, leash and crate trained.  She’s ready to have a family of her own and will make an amazing companion Please email placement@duckteam6.org if you are interested in making her a member of your family. .September 25, 2025, 10:49 am

Story
Age: 8 years Weight: 55 lbs Good with dogs: Yes Good with cats: No Good with kids: Older, calm kids ok Activity level: Moderate Shedding: Moderate Training: Potty, Leash, Crate Bear is a super special pup. He is very shy and will likely always have a timid personality due to his early life and lack of proper socialization. He needs an owner with lots of patience that is just looking to help a dog with fear issues with new people. He does get attached to his special people as he is with his foster mom, but it can take some time to get there. He's a home body, loves to just play in his own securely fenced yard and he LOVES all other dogs. He would be a great companion for another dog and someone that lives a calm life. He would be too fearful of young children, but could befriend a teenager with a sweet nature. If Bear might find a special place in your compassionate heart, he'd love to join a family and put down some real roots. Email placement@duckteam6.org if you would consider giving Bear a chance.September 25, 2025, 10:49 am

Story
Lily is an exceptionally sweet and loving 3 year old lab/terrier (?) mix. Her adorable black floppy ears and brown eyebrows will melt your heart. She is extremely shy and prefers to be indoors, and is house trained (although not crate trained). Lily has anxiety around unfamiliar people and loud noises, but has always been very comfortable around other dogs. She is not a barker.  Her idea of fun is being relaxed at home. She does not require a lot of energy or playtime, but definitely loves being pet and of course yummy dog treats. She is leash trained but prefers not to take long walks if there will be encounters with strangers.  Lily would thrive in a very low-key and relaxed home environmentVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 2, 2024, 12:17 am

Story
Junior's Journey: A Tail of Hope Now - Junior is about 10 months old now and weighs 60lbs. Junior, as expected, is very playful and would love to have another dog about his size to play with or have an active adopter who can take him running/jogging. He knows the command "sit" and loves to be hugged and to curl up in your lap. Junior is scared of the dark so he's always inside at night. He can romp and play outside during the day for a while, but has to be let in when it gets dark. The beginning - Junior didn’t remember much about how he ended up all alone. The streets were loud and cold, and the nights stretched long without a warm place to sleep. He was just a tiny thing—barely 13 weeks old, with big eyes full of questions and a soft, black and white coat. But even then, Junior had something special: hope. One morning, a kind stranger found Junior on her front porch, trembling but wagging his tail. That tiny wag was all it took. She scooped him up and whispered, “You’re safe now.” Junior soon found himself in a warm house with a soft bed and bowls filled with food. But what he loved most wasn’t the toys or the treats—it was her. His foster mom. From the moment she brought him home, Junior never let her out of his sight. Whether she was cooking in the kitchen or folding laundry, he was always just a pawstep behind, tail swishing happily. He was a quick learner, too. Potty training? Gold star. Sitting patiently for treats? No problem. Sleeping in his crate through the night? Like a dream. But his favorite things? Playtime with squeaky toys and cuddle sessions right after. Junior was sweet in the kind of way that melted hearts. Gentle, loyal, and always ready to give kisses, he was learning what it meant to be loved—and he loved back with his whole puppy heart. But deep down, Junior held onto one truth: he never, ever wanted to be abandoned again. That’s why he followed his foster mom everywhere—not just out of love, but because her footsteps meant he was safe. Now, Junior is looking for someone new to follow. Someone who will throw toys, offer belly rubs, and never abandon again. If you think Junior might be the perfect dog for you, he’s ready to meet his forever person. His journey brought him this far—maybe it’s leading him to you. The love he has for his foster mom will quickly spread to the lucky family who adopts him. Please email us if you’d like to make Junior a part of your story. We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. Your current or past dogs must be inside dogs who have been spayed/neutered and are on heartworm prevention. All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.

Story
Huck is very loving, active, goofy 6 year old GSP. He is house trained, crate trained, collar trained, has some hunting experience (not a ton), He is lover, A cuddler, loves attentions, loves to play, loves to roam. He doesn't run away. He is a great companion. He truly is a sweet and loving dog. He is very high energy, gets very excited to meet people and dogs. He listens very well but sometimes will bump into things or jump on things. In new environments he just needs a little time to learn. He really needs some land to roam on. At this time I can't provide that to him and want to explore if there are any options for him to have that somewhere else. I've always walked him multiple times a day and run with him a few times a week. But if he could live on land that might give him a little better life. This type of breed is very high maintenance and high energy. So need an owner who can't handle that. As someone who wants the best for this dog. Would need to evaluate options.
