Story
We found this lost or abandoned dog the day before the freeze. We brought him home for protection from the freeze and to feed and water. This dog looks to be between 1-2 years old. He looks like a Lab mix? We have no idea. He is a really sweet and affectionate young dog. Searched on NextDoor and had a friend post him in FB trying to find the owner. We took him to Montgomery County Animal Shelter to scan for a chip. There is no chip. We are not equipped to house a permanent pet (no fenced property, etc). We would love for a loving family to adopt him. He loves to be around people. He stays around us at all times when we're outside. He will be a good addition to a loving family. He's a good watch dog as well. He alerts us way before we know someone is around. We're assuming he has not been neutered. We would be willing to get him neutered and whatever shots he needs.

Story
*Currently fostered in Conroe Texas* Meet Lexington, or Lex, or Lexi Lex, as we like to call him! This happy go lucky kid is just what he looks like, a giant, happy, friendly, playful Labrador mix. Except, he's as big as a mastiff! Lexington was found as a puppy by a couple who owns property and rescues all forms of animals here in Conroe. Originally they intend to keep Lex as their own, as he is easy and gets along with everyone on the farm (Except the cats and chickens). However, their situations have changed due to family health concerns and now they want Lex to find a new home for his benefit. Lexington truly adores all he meets. People and dogs, large or small, he loves everyone and always wants to be their friend and play. He is called the puppymaster by our group because he always fathers the foster puppies, and tolerates all their ridiculous puppy play and antics. He has never shown an aggressive side to anything or anyone, besides the occasional bark of distaste should someone truly get on his nerves. Lex loves to run and play and explore with his friends and the puppies on a regular basis. He is exceptional when it comes to sharing, playtime, and anything else that comes his way. Lexington is extremely well behaved and training is a breeze with him. He is leash trained, housebroken, crate trained, knows all his basics and will learn anything you have to teach him. He thrives on all forms of reward including toys, treats and affection, making it simple to find what he likes when you want him to learn the ropes! He's the kind of pup you can take almost anywhere! Lex is fully vetted meaning he is vaccinated, neutered, up to date on monthly preventions, heartworm negative and microchipped. Story
RustyCupid - Lab/Heeler Mix - Male - 8.5 Years - www.twyla.org If you'd like to know more about this dog please visit www.twyla.org Meet RustyCupid: He is about 8.5years old and came to us when his elderly owners could not longer properly care for him. RustyCupid (= old name plus new name for new beginnings) is a sweet and fairly gentle dog and is doing very well on his weight loss journey (limited portions plus green beans for fiber plus extra walks) he is doing to about 85 lbs from the 135 bs he was we we first got him. He is looking for a family to continue his journey to a healthy shape. RustyCupid is fully house and crate trained, walks pretty well on leash and is good with most other dogs - dogs that are rude to him however will get words back! He's fine in the car, ignores small dogs for the most part and is great with kids - due to his size we recommend kids toddler age and up.  RustyCupid is looking for a home with or without another dog, with or without older kids and he doesn't terribly mind being a Marathon partner - TV, not running! Rusty is pretty strong and just a little stubborn, especially when he is "talking" to the neighbors dogs at the fence, but is easily redirected as he loves treats. ***Please note: All dogs are fostered in private homes of volunteers, so to meet a dog please fill out an Adoption Application on our website (http://www.twyla.org/adopt/our-adoption-process) so we may setup a private meetup with the dog or coordinate for an Introduction at the next general Adoption Meet and Greet (as listed on our website: (http://www.twyla.org/upcoming-events), as not all dogs attend all Meet and Greets***

Beemer - Lab/Hound Mix - Male - 9 Yrs - www.twyla.org If you'd like to know more about this dog please visit our website at www.Twyla.org  Meet Beemer: This sweet and friendly Lab and probably Hound Mix came to us with his siblings Allwood and Crissy after their caretakers could no longer care for them. You see, these guys were seen on video being abandoned as pups - the individual even tried to run them over with their car afterwards - and a family stepped up for them and took exceptionally great care of them. Fast forward a few years and everyone is getting older and health issues are becoming more difficult for the family that had already done so much for them, these guys are becoming too much for the family to handle. Beemer and his siblings are now in our care looking for new homes: Beemer is a happy go lucky guy who likes just about everyone and loves attention and toys! He is looking for a moderately active home with  or without another dog in it to keep him company, but he'll also likely be fine with a person or family home a lot, as long as he's not alone in the house for long as he's not used to that at all, he's always had his siblings with him.

Fast forward a few years and the caretakers are getting older and health issues are becoming more difficult for the family that had already done so much for them, these guys are becoming too much for the family to handle. Crissy and her siblings are now in our care looking for new homes: Crissy is a little shy when she first meets new people but that doesn't last more than a few minutes once she figures out that most people want to give her pets, attention and treats. She likes treats and will gladly take brothers treats when he's too shy to eat them. Crissy is house trained, not a fan of the crate, and walks well on leash. she is pretty quiet, will announce when the doorbell rings and likes her walks, and is content with short walks. She rides well in the car as well. She is looking for a moderately active home with another dog in or a home that would like to adopt her with her brother Allwood to keep her company, and preferably someone who is home a lot, as she is not a fan of being home alone.  She would love to be adopted with Allwood,  but can likely be separated, as long as there's another dog in the house.
