Story
Please contact Tonya Griffith (TMSGriffith@aol.com) for more information about this pet.Posted on 10/13/23, and the pictures were taken on 10/13/23.  Amris and her family of 3 other dogs were first spotted on our trail camera in June 2023 starving and looking for food.  Amris was the second to get trapped in our live trap.  I had to carry her from the live trap all the way to a kennel for the rest of the night, but now she walks good on a leash.  She does have a hunting instinct to go after night time wildlife, and has wanted to go after a feral cat we have.  She did climb over our 4 foot fence about 3 times, but is now staying inside the fence.  She's not very active now, lays around a lot, and rolls over frequently to receive belly rubs as I walk by.  We don't know if she is house trained, but she is crate trained.  She does not have a micro-chip, and no owner was found.  She was heartworm positive, is on prevention, and had heartworm treatment on 10/26/23 and 10/27/23.  She was estimated to be 6 years old on 8/8/23 weighing 63.6 pounds, and she was spayed on 9/24/23 weighing 68 pounds. On 11/15/23, she had an x-ray done that shows her back left leg has an ACL tear.  She was given Carprofen for several days.  The ACL surgery would cost around $6,000, so the veterinarian said she could have Rimadyl when needed, and try not to be too active, which she is not.  She loves to be pet, and would make a great companion for someone who is not too active. $70 adoption fee.November 6, 2024, 12:13 am

Please contact Tonya Griffith (TMSGriffith@aol.com) for more information about this pet.Posted on 7/1/23 and reposted on 6/30/24.  The pictures were updated on 7/3/24.  Bibi was adopted on 2/16/24, and returned on 6/29/24 due to family issues.  Bibi, a Labrador Retriever Mix, was out of time at the Smith County Animal Shelter, so we tagged her.  She is a very sweet and happy dog, that loves attention from everyone, pulls on a leash, so a harness would be good for her, crate trained, good with most other dogs, cats are unknown, house training is unknown, heartworm negative, and she does not dig, but can jump over a 4 foot fence, so she needs a tall fence.  She does tend to jump on me at times, so she may have too much energy for smaller children. She was estimated to have been born around April 2021, and weighed 45 pounds on 4/24/23 when she was picked up by animal control.  She was spayed on 7/5/23 weighing 54 pounds, and weighed 65 pounds on 2/16/24. $25 adoption fee, since donations were made for her vet care.November 6, 2024, 12:13 am

Story
LOCATION: Royal Oak, MichiganDOB: 02/17/2023Step into the world of Ed Sheeran, not the singer, but our charismatic, handsome black Lab mix who goes by Eddie! From the moment you meet him, you’re guaranteed a warm reception filled with wagging tails and the happiest of sweet kisses! Eddie is the embodiment of joy and cuddliness wrapped up in a 50lb package! In exchange for a couple cups of dog food per day and a warm/soft bed, he will be your loyal companion who’s always ready to accompany you, whether you’re lounging at home or embarking on an outdoor adventure.Eddie’s impeccable potty training and leash manners make him a dream to have around. He’s sociable and playful, getting along famously with other dogs and enjoying every romp and playdate. He’s a quick learner too, having mastered commands like ‘sit’, ‘wait’, and ‘down’, as well as knowing the perfect spot to sit waiting for the treat jar to be uncovered!Though Eddie may experience a touch of separation anxiety (sometimes barks as he’s missing his foster dads - NOT destructive in any way), he’s making great progress with crate training and learning to enjoy his own space - wanders into his crate on his own and will go in on command (and a dog treat). But make no mistake, this boy thrives on companionship and cherishes being by your side.Adventure is Eddie’s middle name, and his energy on demand makes him the perfect partner for either car rides, walks and games or just chilling on the couch binge watching your favorite TV show. He’s an expert at catching toys mid-air, delighting in life’s simple pleasures. His friendly demeanor extends to cats and other dogs, making him a fantastic addition to a multi-pet household. While Eddie’s heart is big enough for everyone, he’s best suited as the only “kid” in the home, as he prefers the company of adults and older children. But don’t let that deter you; he’s a playful soul with eyes that will melt your heart and antics that will keep you laughing.Eddie is looking for a forever home where he can either be the star of the show, or be part of your existing pack. Bringing laughter, loyalty, and endless cuddles to a family in a child-free zone. If you’re ready for a life filled with joy and a friend who will stick by you through thick and thin, Eddie is your guy. Let’s give this lovable goofball the loving home he deserves! All of our Great Danes are altered, if medically possible, fully vetted, micro-chipped, and on heartworm prevention or treatment prior to being adopted.
