Story
Meet Bear! Bear was adopted back in August 2023. His adopter felt he needed another dog to play with in the home and a fence and we completely agree now that we have him here at the rescue and see his personality. Then, we thought we found the perfect home for him around May of 2024 with his BFF Raven, unfortunately the adopter is not able to keep either of them due to housing issues. This poor guy (and Raven) deserve a home that won’t let them go. They have had too much of the crappy and they need some happy already!! Bear is around 3 years old and weighs around at 90 pounds. He is great with just about anyone and anything! He is a very happy-go-lucky, fun boy and obviously LOVES food! He also loves to fetch and play with toys. If you like laying on a couch watching movies, playing tug, going for car rides, or even hiking, this may be the boy for you! He is house/crate trained, but as always expect a few accidents in the beginning. Bear is neutered, current on all shots (including a 3 year rabies shot), heartworm tested negative, and on heartworm prevention. He MUST be kept on heartworm prevention all of his life! NO EXCEPTIONS! Bears adoption fee is $75 and if you adopt his friend Raven, she will not have any extra fees. All vet records and will be given to the adopter at the time of adoption. To apply to adopt go to our website www.fureverfurkids.com *We do home checks for each pet before approving an adoption.* The application is to be completed prior to meeting the pet(s) you are interested in adopting. Story
Meet Raven! This pretty girl was surrendered to a shelter due to housing issues in 2023. The owners contacted the rescue they had adopted her from, but the “rescue” would not take her back. Then, back in May 2024 we thought we found her FURever home with her buddy Bear. Unfortunately they had housing issues and returned them both. They thought they were just coming for a visit, but unfortunately were being dumped again. Definitely no fault of their own, but I’m sure they can’t help but wonder what happened. Raven is around 2.5 years old and weighs 50-60 pounds. She has a very soft and shiny coat. Pictures just don’t do her justice at all, she is gorgeous! She is very friendly and thinks she’s a lap dog! She loves running, sniffing, and playing fetch in the backyard here, so a fence is required. Raven is good with other dogs and kids. She is good with cats too. However, If she sees a cat run, she will probably chase them. Raven is spayed, current on all shots (including a 3 year rabies shot), microchipped, heartworm tested negative, and current on heartworm prevention. She MUST be kept on heartworm prevention all of her life. Ravens’ adoption fee is $75 and if you adopt her friend Bear, he will not have any extra fees. (Adopting both is not required, just would be nice) All vet records and will be given to the adopter at the time of adoption. To apply to adopt go to our website www.fureverfurkids.com *We do home checks for each pet before approving an adoption.* The application is to be completed prior to meeting the pet(s) you are interested in adopting. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Elvis is here to steal your heart, not with rock 'n' roll, but with his sweet, soulful charm. This low-energy, loveable hound isn't about the fast lane-he's all about taking it easy, like a slow, dreamy ballad. He's loyal, affectionate, and all shook up with love for his people. His favorite hits? Long naps, hairbrush massages, and planting kisses like a superstar. Though he might be a little nervous at first, once you've earned his trust, he'll be your number one fan, ready to share playtime and snuggles. Unlike his namesake, this Elvis isn't into the bright lights or loud scenes. He's not a fan of darkness, loud noises, fast bikes, or any unexpected hullabaloo-this King prefers peace and quiet. Housetrained and smooth on a leash, Elvis prefers a stroll through a serene park over the hustle and bustle of city life. And while he'd rather not be crated, this hound dog's ready to melt your heart with his easy-going, lovable ways. Adopt Elvis, and you'll be saying, "Thank you, thank you very much! every day!

Story
Destin is a 3 year-old big boi who enjoys snuggles, going for walks, and PLAYTIME! This over-sized puppy is nearly 90 lbs of muscle and love. He's described by some of his favorite volunteers as a huge dog who is simply excited about life. He loves to run zoomies in the play yards, and will never turn down a game of fetch. He's a great leash walker, as he's been training with our behavior team, especially when using a transitional lead (we can show you how to use it, too!). Staff and volunteers who work with Destin say he is such a good boy, and when he's not begging to go on walks, he really just wants to cuddle. He's young and energetic, and would be perfect for an active person who enjoys hiking or running, and can give Destin lots of mental and physical stimulation. Destin is reactive toward other dogs, and would be best in a single-dog home. He needs an adopter who is experienced with large breed dogs, and can handle his size and strength. It's hard not to love him though, when he shows you his soft side - his squishy face and big ol' paws are simply irresistible! Destin and leash walking. Neighborhood walks Destin can be gentle or full of energy. An extremely stout walker that requires restraint based on seeing squirrels, etc. All in all, Destin is starting to learn about neighborhood life as a dog. This loving dog has so much potential. He loves to cuddle and receive belly rubs after going on walks. He appears to be a gentle dog with young kids in our neighborhood. He has occasional energy burst playing with his toys then tends to settle down. Destin is reactive to thunderstorms and tends to seek cover under a table. Overall, he is a friendly dog that likes attention and enjoys being near when watching tv and or reading.
