Story
Dirk is a 3-year-old bundle of courage, joy, and love who has redefined what it means to thrive. His journey with us began last October when he came in with an injured leg. Despite our efforts to save it, the damage was too severe, and Dirk`s leg needed to be amputated to ensure the best quality of life for him. Since then, Dirk has shown us that three legs are more than enough for him to live his best life. This boy is unstoppable! He runs, he jumps, and he greets us every day with the most heartwarming hugs. His favorite thing in the world? Stuffed animals! Dirk always has one in his mouth and is happiest when he`s surrounded by his plushy collection. When he’s not showing off his playful side, you can find him curled up on the couch, living his best couch potato life. Dirk is loyal, loving, and ready to find his forever family—a family who will celebrate his resilience and spoil him with all the stuffed animals and cuddles he deserves. To meet Dirk, please call 843-249-4948 to schedule an appointment, or you can submit an application at https://humanesocietynmb.org/dog-adoption-form/If you are interested in fostering Dirk, please submit a foster application at https://humanesocietynmb.org/be-a-foster-caregiver/

My siblings and I were all left in the freezing cold in front of Kind Keeper Animal Rescue. Our previous owners crammed us all into a small crate and left us for the staff to find early in the morning. We are still shy, but once we warm up to you, all we really want is a lap to snuggle on.

Story
Russel is a very sweet boy that needs a lot of love, patience, and understanding. Russel is high energy and thrives with lots of exercise. He definitely needs a secure area because he is fast as lightning. He is very anxious and cowers when you raise your voice or hand. He obviously was in a abusive home at one time. He is friendly to dogs and people. Russell is very loving and enjoys a belly rubs and long walks. He is crate trained but is still nervous when you leave him, therefore he will need some additional reinforcement to build his trust. Russel will be your best bud if you just open your heart up to him If interested, please call at 973-647-2213 or email maryannm864@aol.com. Story
Enzo has had a very rough start to life. At just 1 year old , this poor baby has seen horrifc things.Found on the street with his brother, Enzo was picked up by animal control and brought to a high kill shelter. Knowing only his brother, Enzo started to shut down when his brother was taken from their kennel and euthanized for space. He was then thrown in a kennel with another dog. Eventually his time was up, and our rescue was contacted to see if we could save him.We did..but it is also believed he was kicked or beaten , from the way he reacts to certain movement. Enzo is super sweet, just traumatized. We are working with him to help him trust humans again, but understandably this is going to take some time. Enzo likes other dogs and is learning from a few at the rescue, but he still tries to avoid people. He needs someone with experience and patience who will help him trust again.

Story
Bubba is a charming pooch with a heart of gold, but he does come with a few special requirements. This pup is looking for an EXPERIENCED DOG OWNER who can handle his strong-willed personality. You see, Bubba is quite the independent thinker and prefers to be the leader of the pack. He`s a bit stubborn at times and likes things his way, but with the right guidance and structure, he`s a real sweetheart. One thing`s for sure, Bubba is a pro when it comes to fetch! He absolutely adores chasing after tennis balls and could play for hours on end. So, if you`re looking for a furry companion to join you on outdoor adventures and endless games of fetch, Bubba is your guy! While Bubba is a loving and affectionate pup, he does have a preference for being the only furry friend in the household. He`s not too keen on sharing his space with other animals, so he`s looking for a home where he can be the center of attention. Additionally, Bubba will do best in a home without children. Bubba is on a thyroid medication twice a day. To meet Bubba, please call 843-249-4948 to schedule an appointment, or you can submit an application at https://humanesocietynmb.org/dog-adoption-form/ If you are interested in fostering Bubba, please submit a foster application at https://humanesocietynmb.org/be-a-foster-caregiver/
