Story
Miles was originally rescued in Tennessee as a puppy due to a hoarding situation. He was adopted by me and my son in August 2023. Unfortunately, due to job loss I am being forced to sell my home and move in with family. I am unable to take this boy with us and it is heartbreaking. Miles needs to be in a home with a yard that he can run. He spends a lot of time outside and prefers to be outdoors whenever possible. He is wonderful with children but I would recommend the child be at least 5 and experienced with dogs. Miles is extremely loving and gets very excited (we have been working on his jumping). He is crate trained, and fully house broken. He loves to chew and has many toys that he loves to play with! He is 1 year old, UTD on all vaccines until August 2024. All of his items including his crate will be provided. We are heartbroken to part with our boy but we want him to have the best home.

Story
Ellie came into our lives by accident, she was left at our house my the previous owner because he wasn’t able to care for her. Over the years she has been a sweetheart- she loves love loves children, loves to snuggle and play, and is even happy just staring at you. She can walk unleashed and will remain by your side (a few friends tried to be sure and she never left anyone). Ellie can remain home alone for up to 12 hours with no accidents. In our home, she has always had a doggy door the last two years, but we have taken it out several times for training while we are at work. Ellie is self-sufficient when it come to hygiene- we always say she is a princess because she crosses her paws and is always trimming her own nails. We recently had our own newborn, and also have a 6yo, and 3 dogs total. Nothing is wrong with Ellie, we just have to revoke to of them because it is alot of work unfortunately. Ellie’s only flaw is- when she farts, you will definitely know. She’s the sweetest🩵

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!Leeda is a sweet sweet soul.  She absolutely LOVES the outside!!!  She is content to wander around the fields all day long!  She would be perfect for someone who has a large fenced yard where she can roam to her hearts content.  She loves people!RequirementsLarge Fenced YardVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!June 30, 2024, 9:59 pm

Story
Stasi is a Yellow Lab that was found as a stray on Easter Sunday. That's how he got his name. Stasi is short for Anastasius which means "resurrection. We are sure he has a story to tell if only he could, but we are excited for him to begin his next chapter with a wonderful family! Stasi is so excited to have a new lease on life with a loving family. He has grown in leaps and bounds since living with his foster family. He is guessed to be between 1-2 years old, so he is still a big puppy with energy & excitement! Stasi is such a good boy and will make some family so happy and loved, and the feelings will be mutual! Stasi does well in the car, gets along well with other dogs and ignores the cats at his foster home. He would love to have another dog to play with and to have some company when you aren't home. He loves playing with bones, but no soft toys as they get destroyed. Stasi is looking for a home where someone is home most of the time as he does not like being left alone and deals with separation anxiety. He goes in his crate to eat and sometimes to relax, but otherwise, the crate is no longer used as he is not a fan. Stasi does tend to bark when in his crate and left alone, so a single-family home is needed. Stasi's favorite thing is to be with his people. He loves everyone and loves to give kisses. All he wants is to be by your side or at your feet! Stasi is a morning boy and gets so excited for you to get out of bed! He would do well with a fenced in yard so he can play ball, which is another one of his favorites! He still needs to learn the word "give". He does well with "sit and "down and is working on "stay. He is a super smart boy & very athletic so he would be great for someone wanting to work with him on obedience or agility training. He loves going for walks. Stasi is very food motivated so he uses a slow feeder, and we are still working on putting some more weight on him. Stasi is potty trained, but we always say that regression is common in new situations. Stasi is up to date on vaccines, microchipped and neutered. If you feel that Stasi boy would be a good fit for your family, please fill out an application and be ready to fall in love! Stasi (rhymes with glossy) is being fostered in Strasburg. Kennel License #9117 PO Box 2372 Reading, PA 19608
