Story
If you like dogs who shine, no matter the weather, how about Sable, a 70 lb, approximately 2-year old, Lab mix who’s the color of a polished penny. Caring community members found Sable abandoned in a parking lot & brought him to the shelter. Initially Sable was scared & uncertain, but quickly warmed up. Sable comes when called, loves chasing a ball, & plays well with other compatible shelter dogs. Although he may tug excitedly on leash at first, he settles down quickly & walks well on lead. It’s a mystery as to why this gorgeous hunk of a dog with a huggable head, athletic body, & goofy smile has not been adopted. He’s “air tight” house trained, neutered, and up to date on shots. This gentle, affectionate fellow is ready right now to be your kindred spirit on whatever adventures you imagine. To share some holiday cheer with Sable, or for more information please contact Tri-County Animal Rescue Center on Facebook, by calling 814-918-2032, or email: contactus@Tricounty-arc.org (kennel license #8704)

Story
I graduated from Paws-In-Prison, so I am a very well-trained dog! My learned behaviors: Sit, lay, stay, stand, stop, pull, touch, place, loose leash, auto-sits, heel, recall, back, take it, drop it, leave it and all the above with added distance, duration and distractions!!!! I was trained specifically for a veteran to assist with pulling him up from a seated position and bracing him until he gained his balance. Unfortunately, we didn't mesh well once I was living in his home. We each had our reasons, and it was decided that it would be best for me to find a new home. I only lived with him about a week, Living near the shelter is a MUST as you'll need to learn how to work with me and understand how to communicate with me and my training. I also LOVE attention but will require a few meets as it takes me some time to fully trust new people. Before that scares you away remember I successfully lived inside a prison for months in close quarters with almost 1,000 inmates and did well! I definitely feel more comfortable with woman but will do fine with men too. I did live with cats, but it's been a while. I also have never been around small kids therefore I prefer a home without children. Our dogs are fully vetted. This includes spay or neuter, age-appropriate vaccinations, rabies, microchipped, Heartworm and Lyme tested, worming, flea treatments, Heartworm prevention started, and any other medical care needed. Our adoption fee also includes 6-week group obedience class (value $125.) If adopting a puppy underage, we cover spay/neuter at 6 months. If applying for a dog listed as "foster to adopt this simply means you start out as a foster home while their medical situation and/or spay & neuters are being done and then you adopt once complete. To apply to adopt: Visit our website- www.caninepartnersprograminc.org Click Adoption tab- Read about our adoption process and requirements then complete the adoption application by clicking on the rescues face. Their info will pop up with an application button. Canine Partners Program, giving dogs a second chance at a happy life with our rehabilitation program! Thank YOU for considering giving them that happy home they deserve!
