Story
Hi there, I’m Chester! I’m a two-year-old black Lab mix, and let me tell you, being part Lab means I’ve got some pretty amazing traits going for me. Labs are known for being smart, loyal, and loving, and I’m no exception. I might not have the papers, but I’ve got all the heart and charm of a true Lab! I started out as a stray, but those tough days are behind me now, and I’m dreaming of a bright future with my forever family. Whether you’re a seasoned dog lover or new to the world of canine companions, I’m the perfect choice. Why? Because I’m gentle, playful, and oh-so-affectionate. I live for cuddles, belly rubs, and showering my humans with kisses. Seriously, I might just be the best snuggle buddy you’ll ever meet! Don’t let my sleek black coat fool you—I’m not just handsome, I’m also super friendly with people and other dogs. That means I’d fit right in with just about any family setup. Got kids who want a new best friend? I’m your guy. Other pups in the house? Let’s be buddies. Or maybe you’re looking for a loyal sidekick to share your solo adventures? I’d love to be your shadow. At two years old, I’m the perfect age. I’m past the wild puppy stage, but still young and full of energy for hikes, playtime, or even learning new tricks. Labs like me are eager to please, so training me to fit into your life will be a breeze. And when the day is done, I’m happy to wind down and relax with you—maybe with my head in your lap, if you don’t mind. I’ve got a big heart, a playful spirit, and so much love to give. If you’re looking for a lifelong best friend who’s equal parts goofy and sweet, I’m the one for you. Come meet me and see for yourself—I promise you won’t be able to resist my wagging tail and big smile! Love always, Chester Chester's adoption fee is $275. "Weee are the champions, my frieeends!" Oh, sorry, I got carried away there. Hey, I’m Champ! And yeah, you guessed it—I *am* the champion of love, snuggles, and being an all-around good boy. At 3 years and 2 months old, I’m the perfect mix of mature and fun-loving. I’m a medium-to-low energy kind of guy, so while I enjoy a nice walk or a romp in the yard, I’m equally content just hanging out and keeping you company. Life’s all about balance, right? I’m great with other dogs, especially the smaller ones. I don’t throw my weight around or act like the boss—nah, that’s not my style. I’m more of a chill “dad vibes” kind of guy. I like to keep the peace, make sure everyone’s happy, and just enjoy the good things in life. I’ve been neutered and am ready to find my forever home. If you’re looking for a big, sweet boy who will always have your back (and maybe serenade you with a Queen anthem every now and then), I’m your guy. Let’s meet soon—I’ll be the one humming We Are the Champions and wagging my tail just for you! Champ's adoption fee is $275. Story
Hey there, I’m Rex! If you’re looking for a best friend who will stick by your side through thick and thin, well—tail wags—I think we just found each other! I’m a two-year-old Retriever mix with a heart as golden as my fur. At 57 pounds, I’m just the right size for big hugs, cozy couch cuddles, and plenty of outdoor adventures. Let me tell you a little secret: us Retrievers? We’re known for being some of the friendliest, most loving dogs out there. We’re smart, eager to please, and always looking for ways to make our humans happy. That’s me to a T! (see what I did there?) I thrive on companionship and love making new friends—whether they walk on two legs, four paws, or even have whiskers (yep, I get along with cats too!). Even though I had a rough start as a stray, I haven’t let that dampen my spirit. I greet every day with a wagging tail and a heart full of love, just waiting for the right person or family to share it with. I’d be the perfect buddy for someone who wants a dog that’s both playful and affectionate. Whether we’re going for walks, playing fetch, or just lounging around the house, I’ll be happy as long as I’m with you. So, what do you say? Ready to meet a sweet, loyal boy who will love you unconditionally? Because I’m *so* ready to meet you! Let’s make forever happen—come visit me today! Rex's adoption fee is $275. Story
I graduated from Paws-In-Prison, so I am a very well-trained dog! My learned behaviors: Sit, lay, stay, stand, stop, pull, touch, place, loose leash, auto-sits, heel, recall, back, take it, drop it, leave it and all the above with added distance, duration and distractions!!!! I was trained specifically for a veteran to assist with pulling him up from a seated position and bracing him until he gained his balance. Unfortunately, we didn't mesh well once I was living in his home. We each had our reasons, and it was decided that it would be best for me to find a new home. I only lived with him about a week, Living near the shelter is a MUST as you'll need to learn how to work with me and understand how to communicate with me and my training. I also LOVE attention but will require a few meets as it takes me some time to fully trust new people. Before that scares you away remember I successfully lived inside a prison for months in close quarters with almost 1,000 inmates and did well! I definitely feel more comfortable with woman but will do fine with men too (just need a little more time). I did live with cats, but it's been a while. I also have never been around small kids therefore I prefer a home without children. -We only place dogs in homes that meet THEIR needs. -Be sure to visit our Facebook page for additional pictures and information on our rescues!
