Story
Harley weighs about 59 lbs. and was born about October 7, 2011 or July 3, 2010 depending on which vet paperwork you'd like to go by.  The later makes him 14 which I struggle with as he is in great shape and moves really well.  He is a very pretty boy with lovely soft eyes and expressions.  He is wonderful with all the other dogs and was living with a spicy, tiny, Chihuahua until his human lost his job, in the greater Buffalo area, and had to move out of the country and were unable to take the dogs with them.  Harley rides well in the car and will stick with you off-leash while tending to the garden.  Harley is an amazing snuggly buddy and will curl up next to you and sleep soundly throughout the night.  This sweet boy has a lot of love left in him and deserves to be pampered in his golden years.  The Adoption Fee for this dog is $  250.00_. Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a 'complete' pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.    Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES   We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list. If a pet is still showing, it is still available for adoption.   Can't Adopt Me?  SPONSOR ME Look for the Link 'Special Instructions to Seller' if you want to note a particular pet Before you seek to adopt a pet from Joyful Rescues, please read our Pet Adoption page http://www.joyfulrescues.org/pet_adoption.html. Story
Rowan was born around      and weighs about 55 pounds.  Rowan has experienced severe emotional and physical abuse from a special needs teenager in his previous home.  Rowan is timid and cautious, flinching at sudden movements or loud noises. He may cower or shy away from human touch, but deep down, he craves affection and reassurance. Rowan is in desperate need of a patient and loving home that can provide him with the safety, security, and rehabilitation he needs to heal and learn to trust again. We will be looking for a home for Rowan that has another 'bomb-proof' dog in it to help Rowan understand that humans can be really awesome. We will also be looking for a home with a physically fenced yard to ensure his safety.   If there are children in Rowan's next home, they must be older and have a firm understanding of Rowan's needs.  Rowan has never shown us aggression; instead, he chooses to cower or flee from the situation that makes him nervous.  We are told he is not good with cats, but we will be evaluating that ourselves as time goes on and Rowan becomes more comfortable. Rowan was likely dragged while on a leash at some point, and we will be continuing to work with him on his leash skills, but be prepared to further his training in this department.   Rowan has made incredible progress in his short time with us, and we feel in the correct home with experienced humans, he is going to continue to thrive, and his true goofy, happy, lab-like personality will overcome and outshine all the fear.    The Adoption Fee for this dog is $450.00 Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. Story
My name is Tia and I arrived at the shelter as a result of a cruelty/neglect case. I came in with another dog named Milo and both of us were very skinny and very afraid....I did gain more confidence as the staff have been helping me overcome my shyness and helping me to learn that the world isn`t such a scary place....and people are my friends and want to take care of me. I would do best in a home without a lot of activity...I am looking for a calm home and looking for someone who has patience and is willing to go slow with me and I guarantee even though I am wallflower now...I want to blossom into social butterfly some day
