Story
THIS IS A COURTESY POST. THESE DOGS ARE NOT AT THE SHELTER Meet Luna (girl) and Frankie (boy) Luna is the yellow lab and Frakie is the red retriever. Luna is Frankie's aunt and they are both Lab/Retriever mixes. They came to th home in 2019 as puppies with Luna being 6 months older than Frankie. They are both altered, up to date on vaccinations. The family recently had their elderly parents move in and they are fall risks. Frankie and Luna don't understand the best way to stay out of the way. Frankie and Luna for the most part are outside dogs. They are very friendly and affectionate and they like belly rubs the most. The family would prefer they stay together, they do excellent with kids, and other dogs, but don't have much experience with cats, but they do love to chase small animals such as squirrels.  If you are interested in meeting these guys please drop us an email at adoption@columbiahumane.org and we can put you in touch with their owner.                November 15, 2024, 5:32 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Tiger came to us as a local surrender. Tiger has been raised on a farm with plenty of family and children. When Tiger was a puppy he was hit by a drunk driver which resulted in a costly surgery on his hind end. Tiger has been very resilent and he has no idea that he walks a bit differently than other dogs, there is nothing that this boy can't do! He is completley healed but it is the vet's recommendation is to keep his weight on the slight side. Tiger is a social, friendly, playful, active dog who deserves a fabulous active home and plenty of love.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 18, 2024, 12:07 pm

Story
Milo is extremely sweet and loving. he has lots of energy. great with kids, dogs and cats. a lot of potential for being trained is very responsive to past training. I acquired Milo from a family that needed to rehome him due to getting evicted and I just recently moved here from Miami and I’ve been dealing with some financial issues and sadly it’s come to having to rehome Milo. I would want him to go to a bigger home since I live in a small apartment, and he has a lot of energy and love to give. Somewhere where he can have more constant supervision since I work 10 hour shifts and it’s hard for me to supervise a puppy. black Labrador/ German Shepard mix 6 motnhs old

Story
Chase is 3/4 chocolate lab, and 1/4 beagle. He is housetrained and knows many commands. He is very food motivated! He is a sweet dog but does have fear of strangers (short lived) He warms up quickly. Then he gives all the kisses! He can show fear aggression if strange dogs approach him on leash. I manage this by giving him plenty of space on walks where other dogs are present. He attended dog daycare and he loved our other dog who passed away, so he will get along when introduced properly. He is an ideal dog for someone fairly active, with room to roam. He loves daily walks, chasing balls, and loves balloons! He is also a rare dog who loves the 4th of July! He is very alert and aware. I feel so safe having him around. He does have prominent hound characteristics, he is scent oriented and loves to hunt things. He is very protective and vocal at times. He's not aggressive but he likes to keep people at a distance until he gets used to them.

Story
Our son has a 10 year old Chocolate Purebred Lab. He is microchipped, vaccinated, neutered. I am trying to upload a photo but need help as I'm unsure how. I will provide food and we are willing to help with pet expenses. My husband and I are seniors and our health issues prevent us from taking him on our son's behalf. He is a sweet dog, and good with adults and children. I hope someone will consider fostering him or providing him a good home. The breeder in Grants Pass Oregon removed his dew claws. I have a photo on my iPhone and am trying to upload but can't figure it out. Thank you very much. The dog, Carl, is in Vancouver Washington

Story
Cardi is a 5 year old, spayed lab mix. She has hemolytic anemia. And some separation anxiety. Owner says that she's working too many hours and for shifts that are too long for her to be able to keep Cardi a happy dog. This is a situation for one of those animal angels out there who're blessed to have enough money to take care of a dog with medical issues into their senior years. We know you're out there. This is a dog that needs you. Her adoption donation is $100November 5, 2024, 12:47 pm

Story
Chase is a 4.5 year old Lab/Beagle mix with many beagle personality traits. He’s neutered, chipped , and uptodate on shots. Chase is a good dog but not a good dog for children, according to the owner. He’s like a lab with shorter legs and a bit more muscular. He’s good on a leash. Owner says he loves his treats and will come running if he knows that’s what’s coming. Also that he’s helpful around the house. He will do the dishes-even pans! He even loves the 4th of July. He doesn’t mind loud noises. He also loves opening birthday and Christmas presents. If you’re interested in Chase please fill out an adoption application at sccpets.com. His adoption donation is $250.November 5, 2024, 12:47 pm

Story
As circumstances in his families life has changed Brother finds himself looking for a new home. At 6.5 years old this guy seems to be a delight. He knows how to sit, stay, lay down, leave it, and what potty means. He loves his dog bed, is also crate trained, but he also loves to hang out on the couch or on your bed. Due to his breed he loves to chase cats, but he doesn't hurt them, and he will walk away if a cat challenges him. He needs a lot of walks and exercise, he loves to run and play chase. He isn't great with chickens or any small animals, he wants to hunt, who can blame him. He doesn't jump up or lick and best of all her loves kids. This guy will make a great addition to the family that understands the energy level of German Short Hair Pointers and whom are willing to accept him for who he is. If you are interested in meeting him please don't hesiate to email adoption@columbiahumane.org to obtain an adoption application. Once you have an approved application on file, we will then schedule a time for you to come and meet him. His adoption fee is $250.00, that includes him being current on all his vaccines, microchipped, treated for fleas and treated for worms. For more information call 503-397-4353 or email adoption@columbiahumane.orgNovember 6, 2024, 5:41 am
