Story
Meet Hunter, this sweet, spirited, medium sized terrier/blue heeler pup is patiently waiting for his forever home so he can spoil his humans with all the love he has to share! Hunter is currently in Texas, but here's the exciting part – he's ready to embark on a journey to your home sweet home, and it'll only cost you a $230 transport fee. Trust us; he's worth every mile!Hunter is more than just a sweet face; he's also a quick learner. His foster family has been putting in the work, and he's been acing his obedience training. In his foster home, he's been a real champ, getting along wonderfully with non-dominant dogs and playful puppies. When it comes to humans and other animals, Hunter prefers a gradual approach so slow introductions are his preference to ensure he forms lasting bonds. He loves children! During an adoption event he was all tail wags when the kids came up for pets.Hunter has mastered the art of walking on a leash and being house-trained. Walkies are his absolute favorite thing! So if you are an avid walker/hiker this is your dog!! He's also a pro at basic commands like sit, wait, shake, down, and he's getting the hang of stay too.But what Hunter truly excels at is spreading love. He's a cuddle enthusiast who will happily crawl into your lap, showering you with affectionate kisses. So, here's the deal: Hunter is ready and willing to travel for his forever home If you believe you can provide this sweetheart with the loving and active life he deserves, don't hesitate. Apply today, and let's make Hunter's journey to your heart and home a reality! Story
Sega was found on 12/24/24 at Fairfield Ave and Hawthorne Ave. He came into the shelter already neutered. If you believe this is your missing dog, please contact the shelter at (541) 689-1503. Since this dog is new to the shelter and we are still looking for their family, they are not viewable on the adoption floor at this time. The shelter staff is giving me some time to settle in and adjust to this new place. As we get to know each other a little better, the behavior team and veterinary staff will then be evaluating my needs. Please stay tuned for my updated information! Our shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs can be unreliable and for most dogs we are only guessing at their primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. This pet is located at Greenhill Humane Society. 88530 Greenhill Road, Eugene, OR 97402 (541) 689-1503. Story
Kriss Kross is a remarkable lab rescue mix who found his way to Friends of Dogs in July 2023. When he was found as a stray, he was in dire need of care. He had a thin scar around his neck from being tied up, a sore back ankle, and infected ears. Additionally, his eyes are slightly crossed, possibly due to past trauma. Friends of Dogs rescued Kriss Kross not out of pity, but because of his sweet and happy disposition. He has a kind heart, and it was clear to the rescuers that he deserved a chance at a good life. His foster mom took Kriss Kross to the vet for a thorough assessment. He is approximately three years old, weighs 43 pounds, and is heartworm negative. The vet suspects that Kriss Kross may have experienced head trauma, affecting his brain and causing his eyes to cross. His sore ankle is likely the result of a previous injury, which may have caused it to grow incorrectly. Despite this, he doesn't appear to be in pain and has a distinctive, endearing hop when he walks. Kriss Kross has been thriving in a safe and nurturing environment, something he has never experienced before. He has been neutered and is now ready for the next step in his journey. Kriss Kross needs a special home where he can continue to receive the love and care he deserves. Kriss Kross's greatest joy is to be with people. He longs for human connection and eagerly soaks up pets and cuddles. While he is friendly and polite with other dogs, he always prefers to be close to his people. Due to his past trauma, he can be a little anxious and needy, but he has so much love to offer in return. Story
Hunter is available in TX, PNW, and NE (excluding NH and MA) Meet Hunter! Hunter is a 10-month-old Lab mix with a heart full of energy and a love for play! This active pup thrives on fun and adventure, making him the perfect companion for a family who loves to stay busy. Hunter is great with kids, loves other dogs, and is potty and crate trained. He's also a pro on the leash and enjoys being a good car rider. While Hunter is full of personality, he can be a bit shy around new people and protective of his space. He may bark when he's unsure, but with patience and guidance, he quickly warms up. Hunter needs plenty of physical and mental activity to keep him engaged-he's still a curious puppy who might chew if he gets bored. If you're an active family looking for a loyal, playful companion, Hunter could be your perfect match! To see more pictures and videos, copy and paste this link. Story
Penny is up for pre-adoption and looking for temp fosters in Texas until she is 8 weeks old. Penny is an adorable puppy born on November 23rd, alongside her 9 siblings, to the sweetest mama, Grace. Grace, a Carolina/Whippet mix, has passed down her gentle and loving nature to Penny. While we don’t know who dad was, we anticipate Penny and her siblings will grow into medium to large-sized dogs. Born in our care, Penny has been surrounded by love and attention from the very beginning. She’s playful, curious, and full of puppy charm, ready to bring joy and laughter to his forever home. Whether she’s exploring her surroundings, playing with her siblings, or snuggling up for a nap, Penny’s sweet and spirited personality shines through. Penny is looking for a family who will help him grow into the amazing dog she’s destined to be. Could that be you?
