Story
Chance / Neutered Male / 65lbs / Black Lab mix / Dogs: Yes / Cats: No / Kids: Yes Remember Chance? This sweet boy came to us from Manitoba in mid-December, and after completing his veterinary work, he’s now ready to find his forever family! 🐾❤️ Chance is a cuddle lover through and through. Whether it’s snuggling up with his humans or lounging around with his foster sister Willow, he’s always ready for some affection. When he’s not napping or snuggling, you can catch him playing with his favorite squeaky toys, or looking out the window for people watching opportunities. He’s got a big heart and is super smart—he already knows sit, focus, lay down, and shake a paw! 🐶 Though Chance has the energy of a young Lab, he’s also incredibly sweet and gentle. He loves people of all ages (especially when they give belly rubs!) and is great with other dogs. He’s also food-motivated and eager to please, which makes him an ideal candidate for continued training. Chance would thrive in an active home where he can burn off his energy and continue to learn new skills. He would absolutely benefit from obedience classes to help him become the best boy he can be. 🏃‍♂️💡 Chance is not cat-friendly and should not be adopted into a home with cats or small pets. He’s house-trained and does okay in the crate, but would benefit from ongoing crate training and structure. He LOVES car rides and can’t wait to hit the road with his new family! 🚗💨 Chance is a truly kind and loving soul who’s ready to bring so much joy to his forever family. If you think you can provide the active and loving home this boy deserves, apply today! 💖 Chance is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. He is being fostered in Guelph. If you choose not to see your dog through to adoption, you will forfeit your deposit. Foster-to-adopt families will be expected to provide their own supplies. Visit https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info for more info on mandatory supplies. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Eros / Male / 2 years old / 60 lbs / Lab Cross / Good with Dogs / Untested with Children / No Cats Please / From Mexico / Fostered in Hamilton ** Follow Ero's adventures on Instagram @era_era_eros ** Welcome to the Eros Tour! This little god of love is active, full of life, and very ready to meet his forever family. Eros is a cuddle bug who is sweet, playful, and will be sure to bring a smile to your face. Eros has a big personality and a big heart. He is game for just about anything, whether it is heading out for a sniffy walk, pets and belly rubs, rolling and playing on the grass, or just chilling out on his bed. Eros is an active guy and loves walks and indoor enrichment like a snuffle mat or peanut butter kong. He is medium energy. When getting ready for his walks, Eros will give full body wiggles to show his enthusiasm. He loves to cuddle and has little respect for personal space (in a very cute and endearing way!). He likes to snuggle under your arm and give you hugs and kisses. He is an entertaining companion and sure to bring lots of laughs. Eros may take a moment to meet and warm up to new people but once he does he is nothing but loving and attentive. Eros currently gets two walks between 30-45 minutes each (shorter in winter), plus play time in the backyard, potty breaks, and indoor and outdoor enrichment such as treat puzzles, frozen lick mats, or foraging games. He can pull on leash when he finds something very interesting but can be redirected. He may react to other dogs he sees on leash by crying or barking but this has improved a lot over time. He is getting more comfortable meeting strangers in and out of the house but still appreciates slow introductions to new people. In the house, Eros wants to be close to his people. He has been left both in and out of the crate and he is not destructive, and will usually just curl up and sleep. He has been left for up to 8 hours without issue. Eros sleeps through the night on his bed in his fosters' room. Eros is working on basic training and knows sit, down, and is working on stay and recall (has not been tested off-leash). He is potty trained. His adoptive family will need to continue working on basic obedience with him. Eros previously lived with another dog and did well with him but sometimes he couldn't take a hint and got in the other dog's face. He really wants to play and can't always take cues from other dogs. He would likely do very well with a playful, patient dog who can tolerate his puppy antics and show him the ropes, but would also be fine as the only dog in the home. Eros hasn't been exposed to cats and is looking for a cat-free home. Eros' perfect family will be active and patient as he gets comfortable and builds his confidence. He would do great in a house with a backyard to run around and burn some energy. He would do well with older, dog-savvy kids (10+) but his enthusiastic style of play might be too much for smaller children. He needs a committed family who can work with him on basic obedience, and boosting his confidence. Eros has all the makings of an exceptional family pet and we can't wait for this very good boy to find his special family. Eros is a flight risk and our top priority in his furever home is safety. His forever family must take precautions to keep him safe and secure, including the purchase of a GPS tracker which will be required for adoption. If you're interested in fostering with the intention of adopting, please apply at https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info#adoption-form Eros' adoption has been sponsored by Fetch + Releash. Miss Martha's foster describes her as a sweet girl who loves to cuddle. Martha came to us from our partner rescue in Tennessee where she grew up with her littermates. She loves playing with her humans, chew toys, and puzzle games! Martha is a big softie and absolutely the sweetest and most gentle girl. She is a wonderful companion and will make a lucky family very happy. Martha likes following her foster around like a shadow and seeks comfort and reassurance from him. She also likes meeting people. She prefers to meet them outdoors and is a bit timid indoors when new people come into her space. While she hasn’t met any children, her sweet and gentle disposition lead us to believe that she would do well with dog-savvy children who are old enough to understand and respect her boundaries. Martha is still building confidence with loud noises and busy areas, so patience with training will be needed in helping her reach her potential. She is both curious and cautious when meeting new dogs. After a meeting or two, she warms up quickly and has made best friends with many of the dogs in her current neighborhood! Careful and measured introductions to other dogs will be helpful as she builds confidence and learns to play more with other dogs. We believe she would thrive with another dog in the home to boost her confidence and show her the ropes. Martha is working on getting her basics down. She is learning to walk on a leash, and pee outside. She sleeps on a bed next to her foster, and is trusted with free reign of the housel. This very good girl has been left alone up to 4 hours without issue. Martha is very food motivated and loves her food and treats. Combined with her strong desire to please her family, she will be easy to train. Now she is perfecting her recall and even learning to shake a paw! Martha enjoys enrichment activities such as games, puzzles, and learning new tricks which help her use energy while feeling safe in a familiar setting. Martha is potty trained. Martha's ideal home would be outside the busy city centre and have a fenced in yard for her to run around in. She would benefit from a patient family and a quiet home where she can feel secure and let her lovely personality shine. She bonds with people quickly, loves love, and would be happy living wherever her person is. Martha lived with another dog prior to coming into our care and would likely do well with a resident dog, and it may even help build her confidence. We would not recommend cats. Martha is the sweetest girl and we are looking forward to finding her the perfect forever family. Story
Curly/ Male / Approximately 1 year / 60 lbs / Lab Mix / Good with Calm Dogs / Untested with Kids / Untested with Cats / From Tennessee/ Fostered in Etobicoke ** Follow Curly's journey on Instagram: @curly.thecutie ** Meet Curly! Curly is originally from Tennessee and was found in a field as a tiny newborn pup with his mom and siblings. He’s now being fostered in Etobicoke and is ready for his forever home. Curly's foster describes him as a happy dog who loves snuggles and affection, including full body hugs once he is comfortable. Curly loves attention and will remind you to keep petting him by putting a paw on your leg. Once he’s comfortable with you, he will even give you hugs. He is such a gentle boy and a wonderful companion. Curly is very friendly and affectionate with his trusted people but takes some time to warm up to new people, especially men. He takes cues from his foster and shows more comfort when she knows a person and trusts them. Once he is comfortable around someone, Curly wants very much to be best friends. He is very loving and affectionate. Curly loves going out on walks and getting lots of sniffs in. Curly currently gets several walks a day, as well as indoor enrichment activities such as his treat board, which he loves, and his ball. Curly is great in the house and is crated when left alone. He has been left in the crate for a few hours and waits quietly for his people to return. He sleeps through the night in his crate as well. Curly is working on basic training but is very food motivated and eager to learn. Curly is potty trained. Curly is a bit dog selective and prefers calm dogs who let him get comfortable before trying to play but he is very curious of other dogs and open to meeting them. We also believe this will improve as he gets more comfortable and confident. Curly would make a good second dog for a family with a well-adjusted dog who will give him space. Curly has not met any cats but we believe he could live with a dog-savvy cat as he is likely to keep to himself. Curly has not met any children and although he is generally very gentle, he may be overwhelmed by loud and active youngsters. We believe he could live with older, dog-savvy children who respect his space. Curly is truly a wonderful companion and will make a family willing to put in a bit of work very happy and proud. He is a special boy and is keen to find his forever family. If you’re interested in adopting Curly please apply at https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info#adoption-form Curly’s adoption fee is $850.
