File #24-154Current Foster Location: Renfrew, ON *Please note that we do not typically adopt outside of a 2 hour radius from the foster dogs current location* Violet here - your cuddle consultant. Got hands? I'll lift them up with my head for pets. Couch or bed? Prepare for full snuggle invasion. I love attentionso much that if I could bottle it up and carry it around, I would! I might jump up to say hi, but I promise, I'm working on keeping all four paws on the ground. Weekends are for adventures, and I love running around outside with my doggie friends and exploring everything. I usually get along great with other dogs, but hey, sometimes I like to take things slow when meeting new buddies (a girls gotta be cautious about her space). During the week, I get up close and personal with this thing called a crate. Not a fan yetlets just say I express myself vocallybut I'll probably get used to it over time. In short, Im affectionate, goofy, and will totally win your heart (and your couch space). Adopt me, and lets be cuddle buddies forever! Story
File #24-239Current Foster Location: Stittsville, ON *Please note that we do not typically adopt outside of a 2 hour radius from the foster dogs current location* Hi there, Im Ronald! Listen, Im not just a good boy, Im a great boy! I am housetrained, and my foster mom says I have the most gentle eyes. I'm a bit of a nervous nellie, though, so don't be surprised if you see me disappearing into my cozy crate where I feel safest. Im looking for a forever home with another dog to be my life coach. You see, they teach me things like, Hey Ronald, you wont melt if a human pats you on the head! Cats? Yeah, theyre fine in my book. I think they're plotting world domination, but who am I to judge? Nervous? Absolutely. Aggressive? Never! Even when those tiny humans are around (theyre kind of unpredictable, arent they?). I could be a flight risk when scared a fenced yard would be great or, just keep me close and on a leash until I gain more confidence. A home with another dog may help me come out of my shell a bit more, and they can help teach me not to be such a scaredy cat. I am normally pretty quiet, but I do get loud when I start to play with my dog friends! So, if youre willing to help me go from timid prince of crates to confident ruler of couch cuddles, fill out that adoption application. Ill be over here, practicing my side-eye from the safety of my crate. Please visit our website www.ittakesavillagedogrescue.com to learn more about this amazing dog and to see other available dogs.

Story
Name, age, breed: Dixie, 4 years old, Lab mixLikes: food, walks, being pet, sleeping in your bed, cuddles, scratchiest and overall attention. Dislikes: new people coming into home, loud noises, things being thrown in the air (yes if you throw something in the air, she will hit the deck)What would be the ideal home? A balance between quiet and active. Routine is a huge part of Dixie and helps with her anxiety.Good with other cats? Unknown Good with dogs? Somewhat - if properly introducedGood with children? Unknown (but she is very good with our gerbils)Temperament: shy, incredibly loving, pretty laid backMotivators? FOOD. Food food food. Will do anything for food.Any commands? Sit, stay, wait, lay down, up, paw, “go pee pee”, come here.House trained? Yes, never had even one accident in the house.Crate trained? No. We tried but she just couldn’t due to anxiety. How long will it take to settle into a new environment? 2-3 months - at least that’s how long it took for Dix to settle in here (foster home).Any special needs or traits an adopter should know? She’s a pretty shy girl around new people, new dogs, new environments. Trust me, once she comes out of her shell, she’s the sweetest dog with no bad bone in her body. She’s very polite and will only jump on the bed if invited up. She loves her dog bed, it’s her safe spot. She has never picked up a toy here. All sorts, but never. She will always make you wonder if you fed her because all she does is ask for food. Medical: Has allergies therefore on a hypoallergenic diet. Has chronic ear infections that will need to be cleaned & treated as neededIf you think Dixie is the girl for you - fill out an application today!
