Story
Pongo / Neutered Male / 6 Months / Lab mix? / Dogs: Yes / Cats: Yes / Kids: 13+ / Location: East Garafraxa Meet Pongo (again!) This handsome boy was adopted earlier this year but sadly returned just a month later. Pongo is a truly special pup who needs an equally special home to match. At just 6 months old and 45 lbs, Pongo is full of energy, smarts, and heart. While we were told he might be a Border Collie/Lab mix, we aren’t entirely sure, what we do know is that he won’t get too much bigger and that he’s 100% adorable. Pongo can be nervous in new situations or around unfamiliar people, but he’s been working so hard to overcome this. He even spent several weeks with our friends at stylek9dogtraining, where he learned amazing skills that will set him up for success. His future family will continue his journey with a few follow up classes, already covered in his adoption fee, because consistency is key for this sensitive boy. What makes Pongo amazing: Walks beautifully on leash, calmly and politely (even sitting at stops!) Crate trained & fully housebroken Snuggle king who always wants to be near his people Playful, smart, and food motivated, he learns fast! Loves doggy friends, is good with cats, and would thrive with or without another dog in the home Because of his nervous nature, Pongo would do best with older, dog savvy kids. A yard to run, play, and chase squirrels would be a dream for him. To help him settle in, Pongo will even come with his special “place bed” included in his adoption fee, we want to give him every chance to succeed. Pongo is sweet, loving, and so ready for a family who will understand his past and nurture his bright future. Could that be you? https://forms.gle/gMSrMCVFqQ3fb5gN8

Story
Piper is a beautiful lab-shepherd-greyhound mix who is 9 years old. She is incredibly, sweet, well trained, and loves people and cuddles. Her favourite pastime is curling up into her signature donut shape and leaning into you while you watch tv, have a nap, or lay in the sun. Piper’s favourite game is playing hide and seek with treats; she waits in the other room while we hide treats around the house and then she will excitedly and with determination root them all out. She loves to go on long slow walks where she will smell every last thing. Her favourite snacks are cucumber slices and she can hear a cucumber being cut open from rooms away. Piper is loyal, silly and, just wants to be where the people are. Piper's ideal home would be an adult only home without other animals.   Name: Piper Breed: Mixed breed Labrador and Greyhound Weight: 70 pounds Gender: female Spayed/neutered: spayed Age: 9 years Obtained From: Rehomed from another home at about 1 year old. Good with kids: She has very little experience with children.  They cottaged for 3 days with children under 10 years old and after about 24 hours she seemed to become more concerned with them and started barking and reacting to them especially when her owners were engaged with the kids.   Good with strangers: Yes.  Good with adult visitors.  If a stranger comes to visit she will bark at the door knock and then run up and greet them and be excited to see them. Resource guarding issues: Not from people.  Unknown with other animals. Story
Meet Kia   a lifetime of love, ready for one more chapter   Kia is a 15-year-old, 55-pound mixed breed with a gentle soul and a heart full of love to give. She has been cherished her whole life, and it shows in her calm demeanor and joyful spirit. Age has only softened her, it hasn’t dimmed her spark.   Despite being a senior, Kia still enjoys life’s simple pleasures. She loves her daily walks, trips to the garden center, and tagging along to a pet-friendly coffee shop. At home, you’ll often find her happily pouncing on soft toys, working on puzzle games, or soaking up the sun. She greets new people with a polite sniff and is content to stay close by, just enjoying your company.   Kia has done well with other dogs, she’s playful when off lead and generally relaxed on walks, preferring to keep to her side of the street and calmly pass by. She sleeps peacefully on her own bed at night and can stay home alone without any concerns. She’s house trained, though her “old lady bladder” appreciates a little extra help with potty breaks every 6–8 hours.   Kia does have arthritis but she has had thorough veterinary care including bloodwork, urine and fecal testing, and an abdominal ultrasound - all showing she’s in good overall health. She’s a wonderful reminder that senior dogs still have so much love, joy, and companionship to offer.   This special girl is looking for a home that values unhurried walks, warm sunbeams, and cozy movie nights. If you believe that the best relationships are built on quiet moments and unconditional love, Kia may be the perfect companion to share your days.   Adopting a senior is an act of love and Kia will return it tenfold.    December 14, 2025, 10:54 am

Story
***BRAYAN IS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION IN THE VANCOUVER B.C. AREA*** Meet Brayan, your soul dog with a lot of love to give… Male I Labrador Mix I 88lbs I 4-5 yrs I neutered, UTD on shots Good with all people and calm dogs that he is slowly introduced to. Rescued from Mexico, currently looking for a home in Vancouver, BC. Background: Brayan was rescued from a highway in Mexico, where he was found running, disoriented, and scared. A kind commuter picked him up in their car, which he happily jumped into, knowing he was in good hands. Brayan was brought to the DogGo project in Puebla, Mexico where he happily lived for two years before being flown to Canada in June of 2024. He went into a foster-to-adopt (FTA) home in Ontario, and they relocated to Vancouver, BC. Brayan ended up not fitting into their lifestyle, and he is now looking for his forever home. Personality: Brayan is a people dog through and through. He loves spending quiet time at home with his FTA family or having social time when they have friends over. He is also incredibly loving and will always give new friends his paw to hold or roll over so that they can scratch his belly. Brayan has low to medium energy, and a couple of longer walks usually tire him out for the whole day. He isn’t much of a runner or player but will run around the backyard with the neighbour’s dog when the mood strikes. Brayan is fine being left at home during the day uncrated, he has never been destructive or had any kind of accident in the house. He’s happy to snooze on the couch and patiently wait for his foster family to return. Brayan loves to be outside and can walk well on the leash with a prong collar/e-collar. However, he needs lots of space on these walks from other dogs and people passing by to stay calm. He thrives in calm environments inside and outside the home and needs others to respect his personal space. Ideal Home: Brayan would be a great solo dog but would also be able to live with another calm dog who gives him his space. Brayan loves to be with his people, so a home with at least one family member often home with him would make him very happy. He is completely fine being left at home for periods of time and will quietly keep to himself. A yard would be ideal for Brayan to have calm outdoor time, or a home in a more rural area with quieter places to go on walks with his new family. Due to his leash reactivity, Brayan is looking for a strong leader and experienced owners who will continue to help him manage this so that he can thrive. Training / Activity: Brayan is very smart and picks up quickly on any new training. He has never had an accident in the home and has never been destructive when left alone. He knows ‘sit,’ ‘stay,’ ‘leave it,’ ‘heel’, and ‘come.’ His recall is okay, but it is still a work in progress. He responds well to leash pressure with his prong collar and cues from his e-collar while walking. Brayan has some leash reactivity and feels much more comfortable when given plenty of space from people and other dogs during his walks. In the past, he has lunged and attempted to bite when feeling overwhelmed, latching onto clothing without causing any harm. To help him feel secure, we recommend using a muzzle in busy areas while he continues to work on his confidence. Brayan is looking for a patient and committed family who will support him with positive reinforcement and training, helping him feel more relaxed and secure on his walks. Summary Brayan is a beautiful soul with a lot of love to give to everyone he meets. His temperament makes it easy for him to love back. With the right environment and some ongoing training for his reactivity, he will easily settle into being your new furry family member.
