Story
I never thought I’d find myself in this situation. I mean, who would? No dog plans on being homeless. Everyone wants a puppy, right? So when my owners surrendered me to the shelter, I was terrified. This wasn’t supposed to be my story. I was supposed to find a family, settle in, and live happily ever after. But, as life often does, it threw me a curveball. Being in the shelter was pretty scary, but thankfully, my stay was short. A wonderful foster family came to my rescue, and I was lucky enough to join PPFT's Fluffy Butt Program. Sure, they’re mostly known for their majestic Great Pyrenees, but I’m beyond grateful they decided to take a chance on me. I may not be a Pyr, but I’m still a very handsome (if I do say so myself) Labrador Retriever mix! At about 4 months old and weighing in at 25 pounds, I’ve got a chocolate coat so soft you could lose yourself in it. And considering how much I love cuddling, I promise you won’t hear any complaints from me! I'm your classic happy-go-lucky guy, the kind of pup that could win gold in tail-wagging and charm. They say I’ve got that irresistible Labbie personality that everyone adores, and, well, I’m not one to argue. I’m always in a good mood, eager to please, and, most importantly, I love being around my people—because let’s face it, I’m basically the life of the party wherever I go. I’m fantastic with other dogs and can hold my own in a good play session, but I’m not the type to wear myself out—once the zoomies are over, you’ll find me curled up somewhere cozy for a nap. However, I do believe that life is just better with a doggie sidekick, so I’d be thrilled in a home with another playful pup to keep the fun rolling. But don’t worry, I’m not a total ball of energy 24/7. When I’m not chasing tails, I’m the chillest of chill, enjoying snuggles and cuddles like a true lovebug. Seriously, if there’s a couch, I’m there—preferably next to you, because being close to my people is my idea of heaven. Now, I can’t say I fully understand the whole "fetch" thing. I mean, why would you want to throw something away only for me to bring it back? Seems like a bizarre game, I don't know...maybe one day I will figure it out. Oh, and don’t get me started on the "purrinators" (you know, those creatures called cats). I’m pretty sure they’d love a good game of chase, but they’re apparently really into running to places I can’t reach, like they’re playing some sort of cruel game of hide-and-seek. My foster mom always tells me to stop, so I do. Because I’m a good boy, after all… but I sure wish those cats would just catch on and play with me! I’m on the more energetic side, but I think I’d be fantastic with kiddos. I already do great with the teen in the house, and I imagine little ones would be just as fun—so long as they’re cool with my exuberant puppy enthusiasm. I’m still learning the ropes of being a big kid myself, so I might get a little too excited from time to time, but I promise I’m all heart, and I just want to be their happy, cuddly sidekick.  I’m definitely the type who could rock a fun-sized living situation—aka an apartment. But don’t let my compact size fool you, I’m not a "couch potato" kind of guy. Nope, I’m more of a "let’s run off all this energy and then crash for a nap" kind of pup. Playtime is my jam, and I’m always down for an adventure. Car ride? Count me in! I might need a little boost to get into the car (still working on my jump game), but once I’m in, I’m all about being your personal lap warmer for the ride. No one is riding shotgun without my cozy presence! As for the rest of my social calendar, I’m ready to take the town by storm—local cafes, doggie happy hours, or a quick pit stop at the pet store for some goodies...you name it, I’m there. Sure, I’m still figuring out this whole leash thing, but let’s be real—there’s just so much to see and sniff! Right now, I walk in every direction except straight, but I’m nothing if not determined. There’s no way I’ll let a leash slow me down from my quest for new sights, smells, and pets. Plus, how else am I supposed to gather my fan club? I can already tell I’m going to be the neighborhood sensation, and I’m not about to miss out on all the adoring fans and belly rubs just because I’m a little too excited. Don’t worry, I’ll figure it out—after all, I’ve got a world to charm!  Speaking of the world, let’s take a little tour of mine—aka my foster home. I’m working very hard on my potty training (because let’s be real, nobody wants to be the one who forgets to ask to go out) and I’m almost there! I’m also kennel trained, but, fair warning, if you leave tempting treasures like stinky shoes, mouthwatering remotes, or deliciously crunchy newspapers lying around, I might just consider them part of my culinary adventure. Now, I know what you’re thinking: “Is he a barker?” Well, I’m happy to report that I’m mostly a quiet little nugget. Sure, I’ll join in with a few puppy yips when the other dogs are barking—gotta keep up with the squad and all—but I’m not one to turn every squirrel and leaf into a full-blown concert. If you’re looking for a low-key pup who isn’t into barking at nothing all day long, I’m your boy. Just don’t leave your snacks unattended... or your shoes... or the TV remote... Okay, you get the idea.... I know we just met and all, but can we seal the deal? Can you submit an adoption app for me at https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app please so I can come home and we can start forever together? Because as soon as have that app, we can send it to my foster family to ensure they feel like we are good match (because they probably know me better than I know myself right now) and so PPFT can send over some more info on me. I know I shared a lot, but they probably have a few more tidbits of info to give. So, if you are serious about welcoming me to your life forever (and I mean forever) then get that app in and start planning a road trip to Hutchinson, KS because that is where I will be waiting for you!  With lots of tail wags and kisses,  William
