Meet Dudley, Oklahoma’s own Bassador. He knows he looks a little derpy with a lab head on a Bassett body, but as the kids would say, he’s full of riz. You’d be hard pressed to find someone more loyal and more loving, and he charms everyone who spends time with him. His personality doesn’t shine through at events, and he’s waiting for someone to spend time with him and fall in love with his goofy, silly, lovable self. He adores all humans from big to small, and he’s good with lower energy females (though he doesn’t mind when his foster sister Wanda acts a little crazy). He’s great on car rides, enjoys walks, and is a chill, calm companion. Although practically perfect, his prey drive is too high for cats, bunnies, etc and he’s been known to jump a 4 foot fence in pursuit though has stayed within a 6 foot. Dudley is disappointed to keep coming back to his foster home after each event and desperately hopes to finally find his furever family. Dudley is neutered, up to date on shots, on preventatives and microchipped. His fee is $175.

Blue is the longest term dog that we have. Blue came to us over a year ago. We got a call one morning that there was a dog tied to a pole. Blue is slow to warm up to new people, and it will take time for him to learn to trust you. Blue is dog friendly and has gotten along well with plenty of other dogs. Sometimes loud noises and sudden movements can startle him, so it would be best for him to go to an experienced pet owner. Blue is such a sweet heart once he gets to know you. He loves to play treat catch, and will rarely miss one. Sometimes Blue can be a picky eater, which will result in knocking his food bowl over, or he will cover his food up with his blanket and save it for later. Blue does wonderful for walks and bath time.

Dilly's story is absolutely heartbreaking. Dilly had lived her whole life with her owner up until June 21, 2024. It was a Friday night when we got a call from the police department, who sent an officer out to do a welfare check on a person. Unfortunately when we arrived on scene, we were notified that Dilly had been inside of her home with her deceased owner for an unknown time. Obviously Dilly was very traumatized, scared, and shutdown when she arrived at the shelter. Every time we tried to reach out to Dilly to pet or love on her she would yelp as if we hurt her, even though we didn't actually touch her. Dilly spent months in our care before she finally let us pet her. Now Dilly has improved a lot but needs a foster or an adopter. We were recently told by a family member that Dilly is good with kids and other dogs, but not cats. Dilly is slow to warm up at first but is a total love bug once she trusts you. Dilly spent her entire life up to this point with her owner, so that's partly why she's slow to warm up. We are working on getting Dilly to the vet for a checkup to see what she needs.
