Story
Hello, I’m Darko! I’m a 2.5-year-old Lab-Shepherd mix, weighing in at 75 pounds. I’m soft, cuddly, and my velvety brindle coat is irresistible to pet. I’m full of energy and love to play and run, and I’m currently working on perfecting my leash skills. A home with a securely fenced yard would be ideal for me. I’m crate and potty trained, but I’d much rather have free rein to hang out with you around the house. I get along well with my housemates and enjoy playtime. While I’m 75 pounds right now, I’m working on shedding a few pounds for my ultimate summer bod! If you’re up for adventure, enjoy exploring new smells, and are looking for an active, affectionate companion to snuggle with at the end of the day, I’m the perfect match for you! Darko is fostered in the Cincinnati area. His adoption fee is $25.00. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Meet Jemma. Jemma is a 2.5-month-old, 12lb lab mix. We only saw the mom, so this is a best guess. She came from an unwanted litter that was surrendered to a shelter after the owner considered giving them away as Christmas gifts. We stepped in just in time to get the entire litter into loving foster homes for the holidays. Jemma is almost completely potty trained with occasional accidents. She sleeps peacefully through the night in a puppy pen with her sisters but will be sure to wake you up bright and early when it’s time to go outside. Jemma is a friendly, well-socialized, and playful puppy with lots of energy and affection to share. Fostered in a home with dogs of various ages and sizes, she and her two sisters are quickly mastering the art of being well-adjusted pups. Like all teething puppies, Jemma will need plenty of appropriate chew toys and bones to keep her entertained. The three sisters have also been enjoying supervised playtime in a fenced yard, which has become one of their favorite activities! Jemma is the first to head back inside when the weather gets chilly, showing her practical side. With her long, lanky legs and sweet nature, she’s a standout among her sisters. She adores human attention and is known for her endearing "pick me up" look that will melt your heart. If you're looking for a forever furry friend who will shower you with unconditional love and plenty of puppy kisses, look no further! This litter is fostered in the Cincinnati area. Jemma's adoption fee is $400.00.
