Story
Romeo is an adorable pit mix who is heartworm negative. He is dog, cat snd kid friendly. Thankfully, he was saved from death at a county shelter. House and crate trained.  He would do best in an active home where weekend hiking and swimming were the norm. He loves the water. We are recommending a home with a yard and older children only because he may unintentionally barrel them over. This dog doesn't have a mean bone in his body. He truly enjoys life and just needs his forever home to live happily ever after.  ##2045570##

Story
I got Obi as a puppy from some college kids who had too many puppies. He is house trained and knows basic commands. He is pretty energetic and loves to play fetch. He weighs about 55 pounds and hasn't been around small children, so I don't know if he'll knock them down accidentally. He loves to snuggle up next to you , but only in about 30 minute intervals, then he'll go lie somewhere else and come back later. He doesn't bark unless people come into the yard and he notices. I am also giving his large kennel with him, which I call his bed. When you tell him to "go to bed" he goes straight to his kennel.

Story
Calling all BIG dog people! Meet Bartoc! He’s a giant hunk of doggy love. He’s weighing in at about 120 pounds currently, but could definitely lose a few pounds. While he's the ripe age of 11, he still seems to have youthful disposition. He still loves a good romp in the yard and playing with other dogs. He's house trained and walks well on a leash. Bartoc is very food-motivated, but as we said, he needs to lose a few pounds so be a bit selective about doling out those treats. Bartoc is a sweet older gentleman who has plenty of personality and love to share with his forever family!

Story
RuPaw’s story starts with him tied to a tree in rural North Carolina, but it doesn’t end there. He was rescued by a Good Samaritan who kept him out of the crowded county shelter and helped get him into freedom ride rescue. Since joining FRR, Ru has blossomed into the sweetest and most playful puppy. He’s about 3-4 months old and likely a black lab mix. Ru loves to play tug of war and chase, he’d be happiest as a little brother to a resident dog who likes to play. Once his battery drains, he’s happy to fall asleep on your lap. He’s very smart and food motivated, and has already mastered “sit”. He’s also crate trained and sleeps through the night in his crate. Potty training is still a work in progress for him, but he’s made strides since arriving in his foster home. Ru came to FRR about 5lbs underweight and because of his insecure relationship with food he does guard his food from people and other dogs a little. We’re working on showing him that food will always be there for him, and he doesn’t need to protect it, but his adopter should be prepared to continue working with him. Ru’s wishlist for his forever home is another dog to play with, a yard for zoomies, and patient owners exciting about socializing and training him to be the best dog possible. Could that be you? Help finish Ru’s story with a happily ever after by applying to meet him at Freedom-ride.org

Story
Things you might wanna know about me:I'm a fully grown adult. No puppy here! But I can be puppyish sometimes.I like some other dogs, but not all, just like you don't like every person you meet. But if you want to give me a home, you need to have another dog for me to play with.I give the sweetest kisses when I'm trying to tell you I want/need something. I also have the cutest little groan sounds, too.I'm still learning to cuddle. I'm still nervous about it and have a hard time settling.I came from a really horrible situation, and I'm the only survivor. So I really need to know I can depend on you. I'm crate trained. And I need my crate. It is my home base and my default, even when the door is open and people are home. It's my safe space.I'm VERY treat motivated. Peanut butter and cheese are the best things EVER. Don't tell foster mommy, but I know there may be a pill in there. They taste so good, I can't help myself.I need time to warm up to new people and trust them. I like meeting new people, but I will default to my person.Storms make me nervous, but I like water, and I don't mind being in the rain if need be.A fenced backyard is a must. From my previous life, I like to be outside and will just hang out, but need a place to be able to do that safely. Bonus if I can dig in the dirt!If you'd like to meet me, please contact the shelter so they can put you in touch with my foster mom. I'm neutered, heartworm negative and up to date on all my shots and preventatives. Primary Color: Black Weight: 99 Age: 7yrs 4mths 4wks

Story
Odin is a sweet young lab looking for his forever home! This sweet, boy came in as a stray-so his past is a mystery-but he must have been loved, because he has a very sweet disposition. He sits quietly in his kennel, waiting for his turn to go out for a walk. He has no reaction to his kennel mates as he leaves. He has those long legs of a lab, but weighs only 44 pounds. Odin is a little unsure of loud noises outside and can become skittish when spooked, so careful attention to his safety when outside should be considered. His brown, gentle eyes look up for reassurance. He is very eager to please, sits nicely and is happy to take treats gently from your hand. He is also THE CHAMPION of catching treats! Check it out: https://youtube.com/shorts/IKUmSMKY1-o?feature=shareOdin is so sweet and rather submissive during playtime with other dogs. He will quickly belly up for the pack if he gets even a little scared. He is friendly and gentle--enjoying engaging with other friendly dogs. May not be a dog park dog, as his submissive nature could be taken advantage of by others, but he would likely be a great around-the-town type of dog due to his friendly nature. If you're interested in learning more about him, please reach out to our volunteer matchmakers at wcac.matchmaker@gmail.com with the subject line "Odin 255292".He is up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick, and heartworm prevention, is microchipped, and will be neutered prior to going home. If you have dogs or cats, we recommend slow introductions over time. If you have children in your home, we recommend supervision between animals and children at all times. Primary Color: Black Weight: 44 Age: 2yrs 1mths 1wks
