Story
We rescued Cosmo's mom on the side of the highway when she was pregnant in Feb 2024. Unfortunately his people were unable to overcome their daughter's allergies and made the difficult decision to rehome. From his previous owner: 🐾 Meet Cosmo! Cosmo is a 1½-year-old Black Lab mix — sweet, goofy, and always just a little too happy to be here 😄. He’s about 75 lbs, neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on shots, and ready for his next adventure! He loves running, playing fetch, and hanging out with his people. Food-motivated, trainable, and happiest when he’s included. 💨🦴💗 **Cosmo did well with children in his previous home. He can be wary with unfamiliar people or dogs at first but warms up with patience and space. While he is not aggressive towards cats, he is very interested and will give chase. He has a lot of evergy and would love a fenced yard where he can run or another outlet for exercise.

Story
1-y.o., 61-lb. UTD, fecal + heartworm neg., on prevention. Stray I've been fostering ~2 weeks. ▪️Went from being afraid to attached. Follows me everywhere. Loves pets. Sweet demeanor. ▪️Kid and dog-friendly. Would love a calm canine sibling to play with, build confidence, and show him how to be an inside dog. He’s been around cats briefly w/out issue but recommend slow intros. ▪️House trained. We go out at regular intervals frequently but he hasn’t had any accidents. ▪️Crate training. In progress. He sleeps in the crate overnight, eats all meals there and is in it when I’m not home. ▪️Training. Mastered “sit”, learning his name but needs continued work with basic commands. Easy to walk on lead. ▪️Moderate energy. Loves play, would love a yard but not a req. w/ daily walks. Settles easily inside (and in the car)- great work from home companion. Continued training, routine, WFH, experienced owner a plus

Story
We’ve had this sweet boy since he was a tiny puppy, and now at 3 years old, he’s grown into a happy, playful companion. He’s a true Labrador—loves water, loves food, and absolutely adores playing fetch and exploring the outdoors. He thrives on space and freedom, so we’re looking for a home where he can run and roam—ideally somewhere with lots of land, like a farm or countryside property. He’s best as a solo dog, where he can soak up all the love and attention. If you’re looking for a loyal, energetic friend who will bring joy to your days, he’s ready to meet you!

Story
I found Maxey in Puerto Rico he was 9 months. I am now living in North Carolina. He was roaming the streets in Puerto Rico and he was always alone and he would wait for me where I was staying. I fed him got him toys and took him to the veterinarian. He's 2 yrs old now and has all his shots to date. Unfortunately my husband does not like dogs and I've noticed unusual behavior from Maxey like using the bathroom in the house. I'm not sure if Maxey can sense my husbands energy. Maxey is a very playful energetic dog who loves toys and treats. I don't know how Maxey would react with children or any other pets. It was just him and I in PR. He went from being abandoned when born and again I tried my best to take care of him and get him out of Puerto Rico where there are so many stray dogs. I hoped my husband would change his mind about having Maxey here but some people are just not animal lovers. I just want for Maxey to be safe, loved and given a chance of a better life.

Story
Meet Felix! At 2 years and 8 months old and 58 lbs, this chocolate-brown sweetheart is the perfect mix of playful energy and irresistible snuggles. When he first heads out, Felix can be a bit high-energy, but once he’s with “his” person, he settles right in and becomes the ultimate Velcro dog. In the home, he loves nothing more than curling up beside you, drifting off into a cozy snore, and soaking in all the affection he can get. Felix is housetrained with a routine and is currently working on his crate training. He forms attachments quickly, so he can feel a little anxious when separated from his people, but with patience and consistency he continues to improve. Despite his size, Felix is incredibly gentle and has done wonderfully when meeting kids. Due to his size and strength, he'd likely be best suited for kids 8+ years old. He may occasionally pop up for a soft “hug,” but he redirects easily into a polite sit. This smart boy already knows “sit” and “shake/paw,” and he’s very treat-motivated—taking every treat with a gently. Once he’s fully comfortable, he enjoys toys and loves sniffing around outside. He sometimes needs a minute to warm up on walks because there’s so much to explore, but once he gets going, he finds his groove. Felix can be strong on leash at first, but with a harness he becomes much more manageable. Soft, sweet, and deeply loving, Felix is looking for adopters who can provide an active lifestyle, a little patience, and a whole lot of companionship. With the right people, he’ll flourish into the devoted, joyful family member he’s meant to be. Felix has had positive interactions with other dogs, but may initially come on a bit strong. He should do well with a playful canine siblings with slow intros. As always, we strongly recommend that resident dogs meet any new potential canine family members. If bringing a resident dog for a dog to dog test, please bring proof of Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccines. To meet your new pet, come to Guilford County Animal Services between 12 and 4 any day except Tuesday!
