Story
Hi I'm Henry - a single, handsome male seeking a monogamous or polyamorous relationship (don’t judge) Breed: Lab/Pittie/Husky mix Estimated Birthday: 12/4/2015 House & crate trained Hi everyone! Foster lady says I need to tell you about myself so my furever family can find me. Here it goes: Well, I’m a big, handsome guy with a lot of love to give (hence the polyamorous mention above, there’s plenty of me to go around!). - I get along with dogs - The ladies love me (foster lady says I love the ladies more than they love me but what does she know, sounds like jealousy to me) - Cats don’t faze me - I love to be around people! - My absolute favorite thing in life are balls!! The only thing better than balls is water and.... balls! I mean, really, what is better than playing fetch all day?!? - I have a ton of energy! After a good play session I like to cuddle on the couch with my people - Car rides excite me, so much so that I need to be in a crate in the car otherwise I jump all over the place. I’m just excited to be going on an adventure! - I have a fear of the loud boom boom’s (thunder and fireworks). They’re scary and I feel better if I’m on your lap during these. (I’m really not afraid, I just want to make sure you aren’t – Foster lady is just trying to make me look like a scaredy cat). - I know basic commands – sit, stay, come - So, as you can see, I’m the full package! Who’s ready to come sweep me away?! Seeking: - Home with kids over the age of 12 due to energy level Before emailing- please read: - Yes, this dog is available for adoption - The adoption fee for Henry is $265 - Apply at c2cnd.org - The adoption fee covers their age appropriate shots, microchip, deworming, spay/neuter, and any other medical expenses while in our care. - Local adopters only. Due to our thorough adoption process including home visits, we limit our adoptions to local families in the greater Charlotte area. - If you have any additional questions, email us at dogs@c2cnd.org and we will respond as soon as possible!

Story
Mama Hazel: A Gentle Soul Looking for Her Forever Family Breed: Lab mix Estimated Birthday: 11/1/2022 Weight: 63 lbs Gender: Female Adoption Fee: $265 Her Journey Mama Hazel's story is one of resilience and quiet strength. She is a survivor who is willing to risk her life to defend those she loves as she did with her five puppies, of which only four survived. Mama Hazel found the inner strength to help her protect her puppies even as they struggled to survive under a trailer she used to protect them from the elements in a stark, rural area. After so many challenges, all of Mama Hazel’s four puppies found great homes. However, Momma Hazel has not been as lucky. Having sacrificed her health and energy to protect her children, she has had to take time to recover and heal including healing from heartworms, fully vaccinated and spayed. Now, Mama Hazel finds herself healthy, heartworm free and optimistic as to what the future holds. Personality & Temperament A gentle and laid-back lady, Mama Hazel has a calm demeanor and wants to please others. Submissive by nature, she forms bonds through trust rather than dominance. A gentle soul, Mama Hazel possesses a sweet disposition as illustrated by among other things how gently she takes treats from your hand. During her time on the street, Mama Hazel learned to surmount many a challenges including tall fences. Since she can jump a 4-foot fence when determined, this athletic girl needs a home with secure, taller fencing would be ideal. Perfect Home Environment After so much drama and chaos, Mama Hazel craves a peaceful life without loud voices. Loud voices may cause her to freeze and lie flat on the ground. She would thrive in a calm household with gentle communication to help her feel secure. Mama Hazel bonds deeply once she feels safe, transforming from a bit shy to your staunches and most loyal companion. A more excellent house guest than Mama Hazel is difficult to find. She's fully crate trained, exhibits excellent house manner and never has accidents indoors partially because she lets you know when potty time has arrived. Compatibility Mama Hazel is friendly and submissive. A friendly girl, she walks best on a leash and listens as you guide her for longer scenic walks. We expect she would do well with older calmer kids. Currently, we are not sure if she would be compatible with cats. . Special Considerations Mama Hazel prefers not to have her neck touched but responds well to light leash guidance. An extremely food-motivated girl, she loves seeing new places and learning new things which makes training a joy with just the right treats. In addition to her well appreciated treats, she will need monthly heartworm preventative medication. Why Choose Mama Hazel? If you're looking for a loyal, gentle companion who appreciates the simple joys of togetherness, Mama Hazel could be your perfect forever fur friend. Having overcome so many obstacles, Mama Hazel finds herself ready to embark on a new journey in the bosom of her forever family. A family who will cherish her and admire all she did to get her where she is today. Contact Marsha Sutton to meet this extra special girl. Don’t miss your chance to find a sweet girl to join your family: a dog who is beautiful inside and out. Story
Sadie is a beautiful lab/boxer mix who found herself at a shelter when she was a few months old. She was very shy and quiet….fast forward to now since being in a foster home, this sweet girl has gained confidence and her personality shines through. She flies through the air like a ballerina and just loves to do zoomies outside. Due to this, Sadie would need a fenced in yard. She rides well in a car and prefers playing in the yard to walking in the neighborhood.

Story
My name is Charlie... My life began at Randolph county animal shelter. You see Tails of the Unwanted pulled me after being dumped there by my previous owner. I was scared of all things especially the human touch. My foster mom says I've come a long long way in a year. I'll need to have someone that's patient with me and will give me room. You must have another dog... I love them so much and I get confidence and comfort from them. I'm neutered and microchipped. I have all vaccines including my rabies vaccine. I have been heartworm tested and tested negative. I must have a fenced in yard. No electronic fence. I walk great on the leash. If you think I could be the one for you or if you're up for a challenge please apply at www.tailsoftheunwanted.org Love Charlie&#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143November 6, 2024, 9:04 am

Story
Meet Deacon, he is a lab mix with a great personality… uh, dog-anality.  He is house trained, crate trained and leash trained.  Deacon can be a jumper and loves to run in his yard, so a 5 ft fenced in yard is a must for this boy.  If you want to see pure joy, watch him when he is playing with toys or gets the zoomies. It goes to a whole new level if the toy has a squeaker, those are his absolute favorite.  He does not like taking a bath, having someone hold his feet, or getting his nails cut.  He's your typical guys guy - not metrosexual at all.  Who needs all that floofy stuff anyway? Deacon is going to do best if he is the only animal or in a home with a non bossy or non grouchy female dog that is spayed.   He is not a fan of all small dogs that are bossy, he likes female non bossy small dogs and some kids, he may chase cats, but he likes them and just wants to play. Deacon may be too high energy for larger dogs.  Deacon was bounced around a bit before he went to his foster home, due to that he can be slow to warm up, but once you are his person - he desires nothing more than to be by your side… and have squeaky toys.  Did I mention he loves squeaky toys? Deacon is still figuring out the world and will need someone who will be patient with him… he can't just be thrown into new situations and expect to thrive.  A good example, is those spooky moving doors at PetSmart.  He doesn't understand them and we'll be honest, they freak him out a little, he is getting better- but he's learning.  Deacon has recently completed 2 weeks of board and train.  Note: The training he received comes with lifetime training touch ups. Once he has settled in, the trainer will provide you with training sessions to help acclimate him to his new home , they also provide group training sessions most Saturdays at local parks.  Deacon weighs approximately 45 lbs and has been neutered and microchiped.  If you think Deacon would make a good addition to your family, fill out an application at lastdaydogs.comDecember 30, 2024, 8:54 pm
