To begin the adoption process, please fill out the SOTB Adoption Application completely. Once your application has been submitted, our Adoptions Team will be in contact shortly to set up a phone interview and a home visit. Breezy is a kind and gentle soul who's not quite sure what to make of the big world, but she's willing to try this "go for a walk" thing if that's what her foster wants to do. She's somewhere around 4 years old and 45lbs, she's quiet and non-destructive, housebroken, crate trained and very, very chill. She gets along with other dogs, has been kind to the kids she's met, and would probably be fine with a cat, but we'd need to test to be sure. Breezy landed at the shelter with her grown daughter, they were both terrified and had very likely never left the yard of wherever they came from until they were dropped off. We're guessing Breezy as a retriever and hunting dog mix of some kind, though truthfully the only thing she's shown any interest in hunting is a cozy spot on the couch. Breezy would love to find some people who need a dog to lay by the fire or cozy up to with a good book. She's going to hold her cards close when she meets you, but once she feel safe and opens up she's an absolute love. Our foster asked us for easy and chill this time, Breezy checks those boxes completely. If you're looking for a gentle, affectionate dog who doesn't ask for much out of life, Breezy may be the girl for you. Visit southofthebully.com and fill out an adoption application, we can't wait to see who gets to take home this lovely gal.Our adoption fee is $300. This covers spay/neuter, microchip, microchip registration, all age appropriate vaccines, and any needed vet care. November 15, 2024, 12:22 am

Story
Nina is a little girl who was born around Mid-May and the family who had their dog give birth, moved away from their country rental and left 10 puppies behind with no plan for food or water…..just an outdoor pen.  After several months of a neighbor feeding them, Critter Cavalry Rescue was called in to help take them from the pen and give them a chance to find homes.  This girl survived months of abandonment and starvation and has emerged with a few social hesitancies and insecurities, yet a smart mind and loving soul.  She is crate trained, housebroken, wonderful with children that are young, other dogs and also cats.  She is a champ when it comes to being there for you but socially skittish when there are loud noises, sudden movements from outside and thunderstorms.  Nina is coming in to a place that she is showing confidence and not scared of certain things.  She will get there soon, but will need someone that doesn’t require her to be perfect.  She truly is perfect in so many ways despite her really challenging early months as a litter that was abandoned.  Nine is a lab/Pit mix that is beautiful and 44 pounds and a full weight as an adult.   She is very sweet and loving and good with children,  dogs, but NO CATS…..she loves to chase.    She is housebroken and she is crate trained and is a true outdoor girl. She loves to sunbath on the back patio and she welcomes the opportunity to meet new people.  She is pretty good on a leash and good on car rides and great recall that usually works for her.  She is a companion puppy.  She is a Lab/Pit mix and has the heart and soul of a Golden Retriever.   If you are interested in giving this homeless girl a new life and family, please email ccrtennessee@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.November 26, 2024, 8:50 pm

Story
Our girl Thelma was found with her sister Louise wondering on a backcountry highway with certain death looming if they were not picked up and taken out of the roadway. They were confused and they were hungry and they were thirsty. Their life started all over again the day this kind woman put them in her truck and carry them to a critter cavalry foster mom. From there Miss Thelma has certainly been in great hands and shown the ropes and growing up as a young girl. She is living in a very busy household with lots of people coming and going and older children loving on her everyday. There are multiple dogs in the family and she gets along with the small ones as well as the larger ones. Thelma is housebroken, crate trained and does need a secured fence yard to play in. She loves a great outdoors and she would make a great running partner hiking companion and TV movie or football time snuggler on the sofa. She's a great and terrific little girl.  We think she's going to be someone superstar family pet if you just invite her home. Story
This handsome bobtailed boy is called Stevie, short for Steve Cropper.  He was found on a very hot and dry August day the first of August and honestly he was near death from lack of food and water.  The asphalt was treacherously hot and his body was not holding up in all the 100+ degree heat.   A kind soul who is in the music industry took him home but honestly could not house him for more than a few days due to heavy travel and being on the road with his music obligations.  Some people told him to do just take him to a shelter (they are full) and lie about him trying to bite a child.  That way they would take him and put him to sleep for safety of the community.  This could not have been the fartherest thing from the truth.  A wonderful foster for Critter Cavalry was contacted and she absolutely jumped at the chance to help Stevie.   No regrets for one minute that she did either.  He is a wonderful  1 year, 50 pound boy that is  Lab/Aussie/Pit mix and possesses the most caring heart and kindest spirit.  He plays with everyone at the doggie daycare and wags that nub of a tail as fast as he can wag it when greeting people.  He is a dog that didn’t deserve to be euthanized when all the options were not exhausted.  We know that this smart and playful boy will be some family’s prized possession and love.  He is housetrained it seems and he is crate trained as well.  He is respectful of other dogs and their space and not once ounce of bad traits exist in this boy.  Step right up and let’s consider Stevie for your family or just you if you are single.  Write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com     PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comNovember 5, 2024, 1:27 pm

Story
Happy Hank is an 8 month old Lab/Pit mix that is all about loving you and having spreading his sunshine personality with everyone he meets.  This older puppy came from a very rough part of rural Tennessee and the environment was really bad.  Despite all of this early exposure in his life to bad people, he still has turned out to be a really nice dog along with his brother Shadow.  They are not scarred as many can be. He is good with other dogs and we will try him with cats soon. His easy going personality makes us think that he is going to be an exceptional boy to consider adopting into any family.  We have started teaching him the leash and he is excelling at it.  He would love a home and a yard and could certainly be happy with another dog friend in the family. He will soon be an adult and we feel he will weigh 50-60 pounds.  He is neutered and complete on all shots and healthy as can be.  If you are interested in having this Happy Hank in your life please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com and we will start the ball rolling. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comNovember 5, 2024, 1:27 pm

Story
Pearl is a special Black Lab mix girl that tested our faith and hope when we stepped up to help this starved and abandoned girl. She is the ultimate survivor and at 10 years of age and a little under 50 lb, she has taught us all so much about resilience and persevering and still loving people even though she suffered badly at the hands of former people in her life. Through it all, this girl STILL loves people. Obviously someone was not nice to her before she was found on a back road in rural Tennessee. Pearl is a true miracle. This beautiful soul of a black lab just loves every person she meets. She quietly looks into your eyes to say hello and to offer her head to be petted. She is quiet and calm and very easy to be around. She has lived in a loving and quiet foster home and has learned to enjoy the company of not only other dogs but cats as well. She likes to go for a good easy walk on the leash and she enjoys sleeping at the foot of her foster mom's feet while she works. Pearl loves other dogs… most of the time but occasionally if some get too rambunctious and full of themselves, she will give a little growl that says 'be quiet and don't ruffle my senior feathers'. Pearl has a good sense of who she is and what she wants to do with her senior years of life. She enjoys a treat and she absolutely adores food. She may be 10 years old, but she still has a lot of energy. She’ll spend half an hour chasing and playing with 12 week old puppies, but when she’s done, she’s that girl that says “I’m tired, I’m done, leave me alone. ” She needs someone special who can understand that because she was starved, she will eat anything that is within reach of her. She loves to cuddle and is fully house trained.. She has good recall if she is in the mood.   If you meet our miracle we call Pearl, you will fall in love with her quiet and gentle demeanor.  She is a rock solid girl that beat the odds and WON!  You will win too if you adopt her.  She will outlive us all if she can. Buddy came to us as an owner surrender. He was originally purchased from a breeder. We believe he is a purebred red Labrador retriever. He is fully vetted and six months old. Typical of the breed Buddy does have a lot of energy. He will need an active household to keep up with him and continue his training. Buddy is mostly potty trained and really good in his crate! He has been great with all of the dogs in his foster home.

Story
Gimpy is an incredibly sweet and spirited 9-week-old Lab mix who is ready to bring tons of love and joy into your home! Despite missing his front right leg, this little guy does not let anything slow him down. He is full of energy, loves to play, and is always up for an adventure and he has plenty of heart to make up for what he is missing. Gimpy adores kids, other dogs and even cats, making him the perfect addition to a busy, loving family. His spunky personality shines through and he is always ready to make new friends, no matter how many legs they have! Our veterinary team has given him a clean bill of health and assures us that he will live a long, happy and healthy life. His left leg will be reassessed as he grows, but for now, he is thriving and showing everyone that a little difference doesn’t make a difference when it comes to love and happiness. If you’re looking for a playful, affectionate puppy who is ready to fill your home with fun and joy, Gimpy is the perfect match for you!

Bleu is 6 years old with a very vibrant personality! He loves to cuddle and being outside. My idea home for him would be someone with a fenced in yard so he can run and play until he just can’t anymore. He loves his chew toys and absolutely loves car rides! He will lay in bed with you until you are ready to get up as well! He is good with other dogs and doesn’t mind cats. He can be curious at times but is a great listener. I think anyone that decides to adopt him, will be satisfied with their decision.

Story
I rescued Prancer and her seven siblings/ mother from euthanasia when she was just 2 weeks old. I fostered them until 10 weeks where they received loving homes! Or so I thought. Prancer unfortunately did not go to a well placed home. She has been neglected (left in a closet in a kennel for days to sit in urine and feces). I was able to get her back under my care two months ago, however, I am a college student and I know she deserves more time than I can give her. She has no history of aggression of ANY kind. She is a very sweet girl and although she was neglected, she does not show it. She is not aggressive towards people (she will be protective walking outside when with her people. She’s is all bark no bite), plays tremendously well with dogs at daycare, and gets along perfectly with my cat. She is one years old and due to her history she is re-learning potty training. High energy puppy!!! I am in NO RUSH to rehome her, message if interested. Thanks!

Story
My name is Milo Magoo and I am a 3 year old Golden Doodle with a birthday that is coming in the next few days… to turn 3 yrs. old.  I weigh 80 pounds and I am looking for an attentive and dog training family that will really shape and polish me to be the spectacular dog that I have the potential to be.  My current family really has no time to work with me to shape me in to a dog with great manners and emotional control.   I am bored in this home and I need physical and mental stimulation and fun challenges to do.  I am very happy, sweet, and very active with running and playing.  I am a male that is ALL BOY and if I had my wish I would say to adopt me if you have a girl dog in the family.   I would love to have a girlfriend for life!  When I am bored my favorite, yet dangerous, thing to do is eat socks.  So please watch that if you take me home.  It is totally out of boredom.   Critter Cavalry Rescue is tryng to change all this by placing me in the right home that they will review closely.   I am a silver tawny coloring and people just ohhhhh and ahhhhh over the color of my coat of  hair.  If you would like to adopt me please email right away at ccrnewengland@gmail.com Mention in the email where you live!!!   That helps so much too.  PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.November 5, 2024, 1:27 pm

Please contact foster at justinabdella2@gmail.comMeet Opal! Opal and her sister Onyx came into the shelter together and love being together. They love playing together and cuddling together. However, they can be separated for adoption purposes if an interested party does not want to take both together. Opal is the more talkative and more intelligent of the two. She has a little bit more personality to her. She is very playful and energetic as all puppies are. She has guardian instincts. If she hears a noise that she is unsure of, she will come and sit right in front of me like she is guarding me. She is very sweet. Opal has sharp teeth and nails and likes to bite and chew (as all puppies do). She likes to play fetch. She is learning sit. Working on crate training. Not potty trained. Opal will make a great, loving dog for the right family.
