Story
We Adopted Aries as a three month old puppy from a local shelter. He is now 1.5 years old and maybe 40-50 pounds. He’s quite lanky and hasn’t quite filled out yet. He has grown up around a cat and kids. He loves the cat and does try to play with him and chases him sometimes but never in a harmful way. He is really excited around children and because he’s still a puppy he does get hyper and we’ve been trying to teach him boundaries and not to jump but he’s not great at it yet. He is house trained. He likes to nap a lot around the house when he isn’t looking for a toy to chew on. His biggest issue is leash reactivity. He is good with dogs when he is off leash, but he does start barking and lunging when he sees another dog and is on a leash. That’s our biggest reason for rehoming because we live in an apartment and it’s getting stressful to take him outside. He needs dedicated training and a yard and lots of love. He is a sweet boy and I’m not sure where the leash issue came from.

Story
Hi, my name is Ruckus, I was dumped at the Highland Armory/Highland Recreation Center during really bad storms and rain for 4 days. The sweet family who rescued me was told I’m a pitbull/lab mix. I am just over a year old, and they were told my birthday is 04/26/2023! At my previous home, I used to live with three other dogs, but they would beat me up and bully me, so I’m a little timid about new dogs. Though I do love people, big or small, I love them all. I love to give kisses and cuddle up with you every chance I get, I’m not the best in a kennel as I get lonely and have separation anxiety. My rescue family tried introducing me to their dogs, but I’m still scared and growl when I see them, so it’s best I’m the only pet in your home! I have shown that I’m teachable and love to do tricks for treats! I am house trained and have not had an accident at all with my rescue family. I’ve shown my rescue dad that I can sit, give paw, lay down, tug on toys, and even play fetch. (though I’m still figuring out that I need to give it back) I have been to the vet and have had all of my shots, I just need a couple of boosters! I have been tested and do not have any intestinal parasites or heart worms. I have started taking Simparica Trio to keep me from getting heartworm, fleas, ticks, or other intestinal parasites. I’d love to find my foster or furever home. Especially if my rescue family can stay in contact with me! Adoption fee $175 Adoption Application: mercyrescue.org

Story
Pressley is a 1 year old lab mix who is super sweet. He loves attention, but can be skittish at first(not a good background). He’s scared of cats, but is learning that they’re not bad. He is interested in other dogs but not really sure about them. He’s not shown any aggression whatsoever. He is negative for heartworms, and received his primary DHPP and Lepto vaccines on 9/13/24, he has a rabies vaccine already, and neutered He injured his toe and ended up chewing most of it off due to the pain and we had to amputate it so he does need exercise restriction for the next couple weeks as well as pain medication and antibiotics.
