Story
Hi, my name is Ruckus, I was dumped at the Highland Armory/Highland Recreation Center during really bad storms and rain for 4 days. The sweet family who rescued me was told I’m a pitbull/lab mix. I am just over a year old, and they were told my birthday is 04/26/2023! At my previous home, I used to live with three other dogs, but they would beat me up and bully me, so I’m a little timid about new dogs. Though I do love people, big or small, I love them all. I love to give kisses and cuddle up with you every chance I get, I’m not the best in a kennel as I get lonely and have separation anxiety. My rescue family tried introducing me to their dogs, but I’m still scared and growl when I see them, so it’s best I’m the only pet in your home! I have shown that I’m teachable and love to do tricks for treats! I am house trained and have not had an accident at all with my rescue family. I’ve shown my rescue dad that I can sit, give paw, lay down, tug on toys, and even play fetch. (though I’m still figuring out that I need to give it back) I have been to the vet and have had all of my shots, I just need a couple of boosters! I have been tested and do not have any intestinal parasites or heart worms. I have started taking Simparica Trio to keep me from getting heartworm, fleas, ticks, or other intestinal parasites. I’d love to find my foster or furever home. Especially if my rescue family can stay in contact with me! Adoption fee $175 Adoption Application: mercyrescue.org

Story
Pressley is a 1 year old lab mix who is super sweet. He loves attention, but can be skittish at first(not a good background). He’s scared of cats, but is learning that they’re not bad. He is interested in other dogs but not really sure about them. He’s not shown any aggression whatsoever. He is negative for heartworms, and received his primary DHPP and Lepto vaccines on 9/13/24, he has a rabies vaccine already, and neutered He injured his toe and ended up chewing most of it off due to the pain and we had to amputate it so he does need exercise restriction for the next couple weeks as well as pain medication and antibiotics. Ebony is a 3 yr old affectionate, well trained and playful dog. She walks well on leash and loves to play both fetch and tug. She is food motivated and enjoys training. Our multidog household is a bit too much for her. If you have room in your home and heart for one special dog, she would be great for you.

At 3 years old, Bodie is a sweet and loyal companion who’s looking for a forever home where he can shower his new family with affection. He’s house-trained, knows the comfort of his crate and responds eagerly when called. Bodie is neutered and up-to-date on his vaccines.Bodie's friendly demeanor and obedient nature make him an ideal pet, though he does best in a child-free environment where he can be the center of attention. He comes from a home with two young children. Bodie would do anything for those two kiddos, but he has been known to nip at other children he's unfamiliar with. He is great with other dogs and has a special love for cats, making him a perfect addition to a multi-pet household. Despite his brave appearance, Bodie is a bit of a wimp—scared of boxes, plastic bags and unfamiliar objects—but his loyalty is unmatched! A true adventurer at heart, Bodie loves outdoor activities. He’s always ready for a hike through the woods or a swim in the lake, making him the perfect companion for anyone who enjoys exploring the great outdoors. If you're ready to give Bodie the loving, adult-only home he deserves where he can thrive as your faithful companion on all your adventures, please contact us at carriefortenberry@gmail.com or 757-812-4228 to discuss adding this sweet boy to your family! All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at pets@mpravl.org for more information. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label.
