Story
To adopt please fill out an adoption Application  Friendly, happy, well-socialized!  Balto is a large 18 month old male HEINZ 57 breed who was rescued as a stray in Memphis.  What a unique looking young dog!  We think Balto looks like a Dr. Seuss character! Good with other dogs and living comfortably with 3 other dogs in his foster home.  Not yet cat tested. Good with kids but recommended for children 6 years and older just due to his size. Medium-high energy level outside, quiet and well-mannered in the house. Housebroken but never crated because he doesn’t need to be. Obeys basic commands.  Loves to be with his people.  Good on a leash, rides great in the car.  Healthy and fully vetted, current on shots, neutered, weighs about 80 pounds.  AWESOME young dog will make a wonderful companion (and jogging partner!)  for an active family. Story
To adopt please fill out an adoption Application  Opal is a 4yo female lab mix who was rescued as a stray in Mississippi.  Sweet, well-socialized, calm, low maintenance. What beautiful amber eyes she has! Great with cats and other dogs and living comfortably with a cat and beagle buddy in her foster home. Good with kids and plays gently with the foster mom’s nieces. Playful with moderate activity level outside (loves to chase the squirrels!) and settles down quickly in the house. Good house manners. Crate trained and housebroken. Obeys basic commands.  Loves to be with her people.  When she first came to us, Opal had heartworms, but she was treated without complications and cured and is now ready for adoption. Healthy and fully vetted, current on shots, spayed, weighs about 45 pounds. AWESOME lab mix will make a great companion (and jogging partner) for an active family. Here’s a note from her foster mom:  Opal is the best and sweetest foster dog we've had the pleasure to host! She's affectionate, easy-going, and a JEWEL; she loves other dogs, cats and people! She sleeps in a crate all night without a fuss until morning, is house trained, and we've had no accidents in the house or crate. She's become a great leash/harness walker, and is non-reactive to other dogs we encounter (quite interested in squirrels, tho). Opal loves toys, balls, kongs, and especially TREATS, knows 'sit', 'come', her name, and responds well to corrections. She would do well in a busy household with children and other pets, or would also thrive with an active adult to take her on walks and hikes...Opal will melt your heart with her golden eyes! Sweet, well-socialized, gentle, calm, low maintenance. Great with other dogs, she loves to run and play with other dogs at the dog park. Playful with moderate activity level outside and settles down quickly in the house. Good house manners. Housebroken and uses the doggy door. Never crated because she doesn’t need to be.
