Story
Hi, I'm Freddy, a four-year-old mixed breed. Sadly, my previous family couldn't take care of me anymore, so I came to Stray Haven. I'm a good boy who's still adjusting to the shelter environment. It can be intimidating for me, especially since I'm a bit shy and tend to keep to myself.Although I may not appear very sociable at the shelter, I'm optimistic that a kind and patient individual will give me a chance to get to know them. Once I establish a bond and feel at ease, I enjoy cuddling and engaging in playful activities. I'm a friendly and mild-mannered young fellow who simply requires some time to acclimate to unfamiliar surroundings and individuals.I'm looking for a loving home where I can feel safe and secure. Ideally, my new family will be able to give me plenty of attention, exercise, and positive reinforcement. With a little patience and understanding, I'll make a loyal and loving companion for someone out there.Stray Haven Humane Society & SPCA194 Shepard Rd., Waverly, NY 14892(607) 565-2859, www.strayhavenspca.org Open hours:Tuesday-Friday 10am-5pmSaturday-Sunday 10am-4pmClosed on Mondays

Story
Hello, my name is Zinc. I am 4-month-old male puppy who loves to explore and cuddle with people. I am small now, but I will grow up quickly, as I am part Labrador Retriever mixed with another large breed. People would describe me in three words: "full of spunk", which I hope to bring to your home! I was brought to the shelter with my 3 other brothers; therefore, I have been around other dogs. If there are other dogs in your home, the awesome staff will take the necessary steps to make sure we all get along! I am looking for my fur-ever home that can provide plenty of exercise, attention, and love! If you think I am a good fit for your home, please stop in and ask to meet me today!Stray Haven Humane Society & SPCA194 Shepard Rd., Waverly, NY 14892(607) 565-2859, www.strayhavenspca.org Open hours:Tuesday-Friday 10am-5pmSaturday-Sunday 10am-4pmClosed on Mondays

Sweet Betty ***Betty is heartworm positive and is presently going through treatment. She is still available for someone in the area, that could get her to upcoming vet appointment and follow the protocol during her treatment. Betty is gentle, sweet, timid, and cuddly. She would be best suited for a quiet home. She loves being outside enjoying the weather, so nice strolls around the block would be great. She is good with other dogs, cats are a no. Older, repsectful children are best for her. If interested, please submit an application. All current pets MUST be up to date on vaccines and spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason. www.pawzandpurrz.org RR335 Please Note: We are making changes to our Foster to Adopt process. Limited resources to follow up on pending adoptions and delays in processing payments is adding to our financial restrictions. Going forward we will collect payment when the dog is transferred to the potential new owner and will be held for an agreed upon trial time. Exceptions or extended trial times will be considered on a case by case basis and will depend upon the need or situation.

Story
We adopted Finn from the SPCA in 2016 when he was 4 and was told we can bring him back. Last year we called the SPCA and was told we couldn't. He was already on anxiety med when we got him and then had seizures afterwards so he is now on pheno and also anti acid med. He has been pooping and peeing inside the house including his crate even he's only been there for 2-4hrs. He is causing us more stress and we are starting to really not like him. He needs someone who can always be at home so he's not alone.

Story
Hank the tank will chase your winter blues away with his warm eyes and bubbly personality! This 6-month-old lab/bullmastiff/pittie boy came in with his four siblings, neatly packaged as twin boys and twin girls. Only Terry, Hank and Wanda remain, and while they love each other, they're looking for separate homes. They've all leaned on each other this far in life, but are learning how to stand confidently on their own four paws. Hank is the social butterfly of his siblings. He's your best friend right off the bat, especially if you come bearing treats. Even though he gets wiggle-butt excited, he's still quiet and chill for his age (aka not jumpy). In fact, Hank is good with everyone - other dogs, cats and people of all ages. He and his siblings are BIG for their age, so tiny human kiddos who could be knocked over easily may not be the best fit. But, with big bodies come big hearts! Hank is neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. Apply to adopt your new best friend at www.secondchanceas.org/adopt or at the sanctuary any time we're open. Terry is the silliest, sweetest baby whose hopeful eyes will melt your heart! Terry may not be the most outgoing (yet), but he's so gentle and learning more and more how to trust without his sidekick brother by his side every minute! He's so gentle eating treats from your hand and very friendly when he's given a minute to warm up. Before that, he likes to play peek-a-boo with whatever is available to peek around. Terry is good with everyone - other dogs, cats and people of all ages. He and his siblings are BIG for their age, so tiny human kiddos who could be knocked over easily may not be the best fit.
