Story
Hi, I'm Freddy, a four-year-old mixed breed. Sadly, my previous family couldn't take care of me anymore, so I came to Stray Haven. I'm a good boy who's still adjusting to the shelter environment. It can be intimidating for me, especially since I'm a bit shy and tend to keep to myself.Although I may not appear very sociable at the shelter, I'm optimistic that a kind and patient individual will give me a chance to get to know them. Once I establish a bond and feel at ease, I enjoy cuddling and engaging in playful activities. I'm a friendly and mild-mannered young fellow who simply requires some time to acclimate to unfamiliar surroundings and individuals.I'm looking for a loving home where I can feel safe and secure. Ideally, my new family will be able to give me plenty of attention, exercise, and positive reinforcement. With a little patience and understanding, I'll make a loyal and loving companion for someone out there.Stray Haven Humane Society & SPCA194 Shepard Rd., Waverly, NY 14892(607) 565-2859, www.strayhavenspca.org Open hours:Tuesday-Friday 10am-5pmSaturday-Sunday 10am-4pmClosed on Mondays

Story
Hello, I'm Sean. My life's been a bit of a rollercoaster lately, but I've always been a trooper. Loyalty? It's in my DNA. I'll stick by you through thick and thin. Since being here at ACS, we found out I have a heart murmur and I tested positive for heartworm, but I don't let that slow me down. I'm still the same loving, playful Sean. I feel so much better already now that I’m recovering from my Heartworm treatment, so I think it’s time I find my fur-ever home! In fact, I’ve got so much going for me that you won’t need any other pets, not as long as I’m your best boy! I truly am a sweet soul, but I'm also independent and smart too! I just LOVE figuring out puzzles and games. I’m also learning basic obedience and working hard on my focus training. I believe every home needs a loyal companion who'll love you unconditionally, and I promise to be just that. So…what are you waiting for? Adopt me, Sean, today!

Story
Hi, I'm Brad. I'm still learning about this big world around me, and yes, it can be a bit scary sometimes. Unexpected noises, sudden movements, they all make me nervous. But don't let that fool you. I can be a bit of a mischief-maker when I feel safe and comfortable. Sneaking out of places I shouldn't, chewing on things that aren't toys, but hey, that's all part of my charm. I'm a sweet, shy boy who's still figuring things out. I’m almost 2 years old now and I'm looking for a family who'll be patient with me, help me build my confidence, and love me for who I am. In return, I promise to be the most loyal and loving dog you could ever ask for. I may be a scaredy cat, but I've got a lot of love to give. Will you be the one to help me find my courage?

Story
Meet Tom! A 4-year-old mixed breed with a happy-go-lucky approach to life and a strong desire for learning. Tom is always eager to please. Whether it’s learning basic commands, walking on leash or having a zoomie outburst, Tom always seems to be happy. He can be a bit rambunctious and loves to play at full speed, but Tom will settle down for some good snuggles and cuddles if you have some to spare. Tom is a bit choosy with his dog friends, so bring your dog when you come to meet him. Because of his high-speed approach to life, older children would make good playmates. Whether it’s playing tag, chasing tennis balls or going for a long walk where he can find new smells Tom does adjust his speed accordingly. If you have a high speed kind of lifestyle and enjoy hiking, playing ball and watching the best zoomies you’ve ever seen, Tom is the dog for you!

Sweet Betty ***Betty is heartworm positive and is presently going through treatment. She is still available for someone in the area, that could get her to upcoming vet appointment and follow the protocol during her treatment. Betty is gentle, sweet, timid, and cuddly. She would be best suited for a quiet home. She loves being outside enjoying the weather, so nice strolls around the block would be great. She is good with other dogs, cats are a no. Older, repsectful children are best for her. If interested, please submit an application. All current pets MUST be up to date on vaccines and spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason. www.pawzandpurrz.org RR335 Please Note: We are making changes to our Foster to Adopt process. Limited resources to follow up on pending adoptions and delays in processing payments is adding to our financial restrictions. If you would like to meet Clay, please submit an application. Clay will begin his vaccine series asap.
